Abstract

The Youth Food Movement through the empowerment of Karang Taruna is a strategic step in strengthening food security at the village level based on the potential of local youth. This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to optimize the role of the Youth Organization in Pamboborang Village, Majene Regency, through multi-stakeholder collaboration to build regional food security. The method of implementing the program includes institutional coordination, capacity building, delivery of agricultural inputs, and direct field practice in youth gardens. This activity presented resource persons from the Community and Village Empowerment Office (DPMD) and the Majene Regency Food Security Office. The results of capacity building showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge, as shown by an increase in the average score from 47.00 (pre-test) to 84.25 (post-test) with an N-Gain score of 0.72 (high category). In addition, this movement has succeeded in realizing a productive pilot garden (demonstration plot) based on superior vegetable and fruit seeds managed independently by village youth. The implication of this service is the realization of a collaborative governance model between youth and regional technical agencies to support stability, resilience, and long-term food independence.
