Abstract

Abstract

Background: Katokkon is a local red pepper that is widely cultivated in the North Toraja Regency and several surrounding areas within the scope of South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. This pepper has a spicy taste and a unique fruit shape like paprika in small size and is rich in nutrients such as ascorbic acid, carotenoids, and capsaicin so that it benefits human health and serves as one of the commodities that improve the people's economy. Katokkon pepper is adapted to grow well in upland areas so that cultivation outside this habitat requires certain efforts to be optimal. Seed germination is an important step in plant cultivation. Coconut water and shallots extract were commonly used as sources of growth regulators substances to stimulate seed germination. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of natural growth regulators substances on the Katokkon pepper seed germination. Methods: This study was conducted by a factorial randomized block design with two factors and three replications. The Katokkon pepper seeds were soaked in the 25%, 50%, and 75% of coconut water and shallots solution for 24 hours. Results: The treatment of coconut water with a concentration of 75% (ZAK3) has a significant effect on the percentage and speed of seed germination of Katokkon pepper. Conclusions: The greater concentration of natural growth regulators used, the greater the percentage of seed germination obtained. However, the effect of coconut water treatment on seed germination of Katokkon pepper was more significant than the shallots extract.

Abstract

Student involvement is essential to do in learning because it can affect student achievement. Student involvement can determine they to get meaningful learning. However, in reality, there is still a lack of student involvement in learning. This was observed from the lack of student involvement in expressing opinions during the learning process. Educators need to increase student involvement as subjects in learning. The application of participatory strategies can be a solution to increase student involvement in learning. The purpose of writing this journal is to find out the role of participatory strategies to increase student involvement in Biology learning. The method used is a literature review and qualitative descriptive. Each student is an image and likeness of God who has various characters. Although they have various characters that affect students in learning, they are all valuable in the eyes of the Lord God. In understanding students' abilities, Christian anthropology studies are needed which study character, goodness, and the human person. The application of participatory strategies can increase the involvement of students in learning. The results of the application of the participatory strategy showed that the students were able to achieve the three observed indicators of involvement. The participatory strategy is implemented according to the implementation steps through two methods, namely, discussion and think, pair, and share.

Abstract

Keinginan siswa belajar tatap muka semakin meningkat setelah masa pandemi berakhir. Abstract

Extrinsic motivation is an important factor in learning. However, many teachers have not been able to provide proper motivation by giving negative labeling to students. This happens because the teacher does not yet have the proper axiological foundation in viewing students as the image and likeness of God. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyze the axiological study of the teacher's role as a role model in providing motivation for students. The method used is a literature study. The result of the study showed that the Christian teacher needs to live up to the values in the Bible so that the teacher has the basic values of correct behaviour, namely the Word of God. Teachers must also imitate Christ because He is the perfect role model for humans.
