Abstract

One of the components used to hold the shaft that transmits power and rotation is the journal bearing. Journal bearing has the advantage of being able to withstand large loads and high rotation, however, journal bearing has a weakness, which is high friction. This high friction is minimized by means of lubrication, where the lubricant forms a film layer which functions as a separator between the journal and the housing so that mechanical contact does not occur. Journal bearing is usually work with dynamic loads on their operation, these dynamic loads affect the thickness of the film layer and the hydrodynamic pressure on the journal bearing. The al approach with the finite difference method is one method to determine the thickness of the film layer and the hydrodynamic pressure on journal bearing due to dynamic loads. The finite difference method is used to solve the differential equations in the dynamic load bearing Reynolds journal equation.The dynamic load acting on the journal bearing is the influence of non-dimensional amplitude and non-dimensional frequency. The nondimensional amplitude was varied from 0.1 to 0.5, while the non-dimensional frequency was varied π / 4, π / 2, π, 2π, 4π, and the observed time was 0.00 s to 0.09 s The conclusion is that the load on the journal bearing is directly proportional to the hydrodynamic pressure and inversely proportional to the thickness of the film layer with a maximum hydrodynamic pressure of 3,313 kPa and a minimum film layer of 32.92 μm, and the load of the journal bearing is directly proportional to the eccentricity ratio. The maximum eccentricity ratio is 0.675. Meanwhile, non-dimensional amplitude affects hydrodynamic pressure and non-dimensional frequency affects changes in hydrodynamic pressure with time. Abstract

Hydraulic press machine is a device that is used to mass produce a component with the same shape and size, so that it becomes the desired production item. In this research is proposed to design the component of a hydraulic press machine system for a maximum capacity of 50 ton. The design was begins by observing the needs and workings of the system, followed by analysis and calculation components of hydraulic system, then engineering drawings and completion. The results design was obtained a hydraulic system capacity of 50 ton, then determined the working fluid pressure (P) of 250 bar = 250. 105N / m2. Loading force is obtained to calculate things related to the hydraulic system namely cylinder dimensions and load holding strength, the workings of the system to determine the main components and determine the flow rate capacity in the cylinder. From the results of the calculation, the maximum loading force = 490,500 N, the maximum tensile stress = 1172 N / mm2, and the material permit stress = 116.5 N / m2, with the material used is nickel molybdenum chromium steel (JIS G4103 SNCM25). Abstract

Currently the most widely used cutting steel is cutting with oxygen gas, the manual weld cutting makes the cutting result of less appropriate as well as the complicated process. The cutting tool plate is made to facilitate the work especially in the field of construction. In this research aims to design the Oxy-Acetylene automatic plate cutting tool that makes easier of the plate cutting process. In the design process used the Autodesk Inventor 2015 software as well as analysis of structural strength in this design. From the design process, was obtained the output in the form of technical drawings of the automatic plate cutting of Oxy-Acetylene.The analysis process was done in two ways with manual calculations and using Autodesk Inventor 2015. Then from the calculation results were obtained the voltage that occurs on the axis y = 0.908 MPa on the x-axis 0.7334 MPa the deflection occurring on the y-axis = 0.001868 mm and on the axis x = 0.002798 mm. Abstract

This study aims to design the build of a wear test tool or a tribometer that intends to measure the coefficient of friction and wear rate in contact materials in form of disc-on-disc. This tribometer test tool can be used in dry contact (without any intermediate material between contacts) or wet contacts (by using intermediate material between contacts such as lubricant). The application of this disc-on-disc type of tribometer is the contact that occurs between roller elements (solid cylinders) and inner rings on cylindrical rolling bearings. In this paper is used the design method of VDI 2221. The steps are to clarify the task, determine the function of structure, look for the principle of the solution and its structure, describe the variants that can be realized and give shape to the model and detail the manufacture and used. This tool is used to test components consisting of two discs where the material can be varied. The design of the surface contact side mechanism is done in a radial direction. So, the disc can rotate (rolling contact) and this test tool can be varied load and rotation. The final result of this study is an engineering document in the form of layout drawings and assembly images as well as detailed images of each component and bills of materials.

Abstract

To determine the rate of wear and coefficient of friction, a test instrument is used, namely a tribometer with a pin on disc type. Before manufacturing, it is necessary to have a design that must comply with existing standards. This study aims to design a pin on disc tribometer with circular motion and reciprocating linear motion using the Hatamura method and its main components, analyze the shaft and frame and produce working papers in the form of technical drawings and bill of materials in the manufacture of test equipment. Pin-on-disc tribometer. In this study, designing several concepts of the pin on disc Tribometer according to the Hatamura method and then evaluating the existing concepts and selecting concepts based on the decision matrix, then the concepts will be designed and analyzed by manual calculations and validation using Autodesk Inventor to determine stress, deflection, as well as safety factors on the axle and frame. The final result of this research is a technical document in the form of layout drawings and assembly drawings as well as detailed drawings of each component and bill of materials.

Abstract

The function of the oil draining machine is to effectively reduce the oil content in the food from frying. This study aims to analyse the spinner system's components for the oil draining machine using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The AHP makes broad and unstructured problems into a flexible and easy-to-understand model. This research begins with a study of the initial design of the spinner system for the oil-draining machine components. Then, the characteristics and process parameters (spinner) of the oil-draining machine's parts were analysed using the AHP method. From the analysis results, the new designs were developed by eliminating or combining components that did not add value. The priority of consumer needs for function, performance, ergonomics, durability, serviceability and aesthetics were referenced to make a new design. Then, the new components of the spinner system oil draining machine were developed. Customers' needs for design priority include functionality to drain the cooking oil and crackers, capacity exceeding 3kg, ease of assembly, lightweight, easy to use, stainless steel material, easy to repair and dark colour selection.

Abstract

Potensi objek wisata yang terdapat di Batu Bersurat belum tergarap dengan serius dan maksimal. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari minimnya sarana informasi dan promosi terkait keberadaan objek wisata di wilayah ini. Selain itu, minimnya keberadaan sarana pendukung turut menjadi penyebab rendahnya kunjungan wisatawan di wilayah ini. Berdasarkan pada permasalahan tersebut. Tim melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian dalam bentuk pengembangan sarana dan penyediaan akses informasi wisata dalam rangka meningkatkan minat dan kunjungan wisatawan di Kelurahan Batu Bersurat, Kabupaten Kampar. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diawali dengan pembuatan foto udara dan foto landscape di area wisata Batu Bersurat dengan menggunakan wahana pesawat terbang tanpa awak tipe fixed wing. Selanjutnya kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan pembuatan video udara sinematik dengan memanfaatkan dua unit pesawat tanpa awak tipe rotary wing (drone). Hasil dari pembuatan media promosi wisata berbentuk video udara sinematik, foto landscape dan foto udara, selanjutnya diintegrasikan ke dalam media informasi wisata berbasis website yang juga dibuat oleh tim pengabdian. Diharapkan dengan adanya media promosi dan media informasi wisata ini, memudahkan pengelola objek wisata di Batu Bersurat, untuk mempromosikan ke khalayak ramai terkait keindahan objek wisata yang terdapat di Batu Bersurat.

Abstract

The transmission system is vital in automotive and industrial applications, including gears. Gears are the most widely transmission components used to transmit the power and rotational speed from the driver component to others. Power is transmitted by contact rolling between two contacting gear surfaces. The contacting area is relatively tiny enough to transmit very high power, resulting in high pressure on the contact surface of the gears. This causes failure on the gear surface, such as pitting and scuffing. To investigate the failures and their causes, a gear test rig is utilized, and this work aims to design a gear test rig using the VDI 2221 method. VDI 2221 is used due to its efficient and systematic design method from the product concept variants. Calculation and design of the components referred to Kiyokatsu Suga and Sularso. Static structural analysis was conducted to determine the strength and safety of the designed gear test. This study's result is a gear test rig design with a maximum von Mises stress of 19.47 MPa at the main frame. Then, a dynamic simulation was carried out, and this designed gear test rig produced a friction coefficient of 0.342.

Abstract

Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan perancangan dan analisis rangka mesin spinner dengan kapasitas 1liter/jam dan putaran mencapai 10,000 rpm. Untuk memproduksi mesin spinner lateks berkecepatan tinggi (high-speed spinner), diperlukan sistem rangka yang kuat untuk menahan beban kerja serta dapat mencegah terjadinya kecelakaan kerja pada mesin tersebut. Mesin spinner dirancang dengan dimensi 955mm × 560mm × 700mm dan kapasitas 1 liter/jam. Dengan spesifikasi ini, beban yang akan ditahan oleh rangka adalah sebesar 196 N. Analisis rangka dilakukan dengan membagi beban 196 N menjadi 5 bagian sesuai posisi rangka masing-masing. Rangka yang mengalami beban terbesar adalah rangka nomor 2, dengan beban sekitar 115.64 N. Akibat beban tersebut maka diperoleh tegangan maksimum pada rangka 2 senilai 12.96 Mpa. Dengan mempertimbangkan faktor keamanan sebesar 5, ketersediaan material, dan kemudahan proses produksi, maka material ST37 diidentifikasi sebagai material yang cocok untuk rangka mesin spinner. Analisis selanjutnya dilakukan untuk menentukan defleksi yang terjadi pada rangka. Melalui perhitungan manual, defleksi maksimum ditemukan sebesar 0.041 mm pada rangka 2. Analisis rangka kemudian dilanjutkan dengan simulasi menggunakan Autodesk Inventor. Dari hasil simulasi, tegangan maksimum terjadi pada rangka nomor 2 dengan nilai 14.66 MPa, dan defleksi sebesar 0.064 mm dengan faktor keamanan sebesar 7.54. Dengan mempertimbangkan hasil perhitungan manual, analisis tegangan menggunakan Autodesk Inventor, dan validasi dengan mesin prototipe yang telah dibuat, rangka mesin spinner berkecepatan tinggi dianggap aman untuk digunakan sebagai penopang mesin dengan kapasitas 1 liter per jam dan kecepatan rotasi 10,000 rpm.
