Abstract

This research aims to explore the application of thematic learning model and finding its implications to building basic capability for students with special needs. This descriptive research used a qualitative approach and the data collection technique in this research applied purposive sampling. This research on the first stage conducts a descriptive analysis of the data which is obtained from Special School Tegar Harapan, Yogyakarta, then on the second stage refers to analysis discussion towards the results on first stage using Philosophy of Education theory capability approach. The result of this research is that the thematic learning model could become an academic methodology in learning by the students in Special School Tegar Harapan. The thematic learning model also contributes to building basic capability for students in Special School Tegar Harapan, especially on a high education level. The application of model thematic learning for students Special School Tegar Harapan which has various special needs conditions can build basic capability for students according to their interests, potentials, and capabilities. The application of model thematic learning for children with special needs becomes a realization of educational philosophy in the field of special education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengenali dan memperoleh gambaran tentang permasalahan pembelajaran kimia secara daring. Khususnya pembelajaran kimia yang dilaksanakan di MAN Kota Batu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian diskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa lembar angket. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik MAN Kota Batu. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa permasalahan yang terjadi antara lain: pertama, peserta didik merasa kesulitan dalam memahami topik pembelajaran yang disampaikan oleh guru. Kedua, peserta didik merasa tidak bersemangat untuk belajar. Ketiga, peserta didik tidak menguasai topik pembelajaran kimia dasar Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut: pertama, kreativitas guru dalam mengemas konsep pembelajaran kimia sangat diharapkan peserta didik yang memiliki akses internet dan alat pendukung pembelajaran daring yang mencakup aspek kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor sehingga pembelajaran daring berjalan dengan baik. Kedua, guru diharapkan mengupayakan kesesuaian penggunakan metode pembelajaran dengan topik yang akan dibahas. Dengan demikian materi yang disampaikan oleh guru maupun yang dipelajari secara mandiri oleh peserta didik dapat dikuasai dan dimengerti. Kemudian peserta didik  akan bersemangat untuk belajar walaupun dilakukan secara daring.

Abstract

AbstractIdeologically, Disney animation cartoon films do not just represent pedagogical values in the traditional family culture, but also have conflicts between pedagogical values in generaltraditional family and Disney’s natural characteristic as a bigcorporation that lives in the capital industry.We can see these conflicts clearly in a few Disney’s box office films. “The Lion King” film shows a deep relation in nonsocialdemocracy, authority naturalization, hierarchy, unbalancedstructure, and full of patriarchy ideology values. “Little Mermaid” film has a strictly unbalanced gender. We can see that from Ariel, one of the characters in this film. Although, she is a pretty and active woman, but she is still on the position where she must obey the romanticism which is dominated by men. “Cinderella” film shows a violence ideology in household, unbalanced gender, and dependency.Disney child animation cartoon film is able to reconstruct a“different world” for children around the world which is not onlyfull of pedagogical values but also full of ideological values such as violence, unclearly values of life, and representation of an artificial world.Keywords: Ideology, Pedagogy, Child, Animation, Cartoon, Film,Disney

Abstract

Artikel ini secara garis besar bertujuan untuk memahami prinsip hidup kawruh begja dalam masyarakat Jawa berdasarkan teori metafisika Anton Bakker.  Memaparkan kedudukan orang Jawa sebagai pengada yang berada di antara pengada-pengada lain di dalam suatu struktur realitas. Manusia Jawa dalam konteks ini diandaikan bermetafisika, yakni menempatkan dirinya sebagai subjek sekaligus sebagai objek metafisika, serta menempati posisi sebagai pengada bagi dirinya sendiri sekaligus pengada bagi orang lain. Prinsip kawruh begja memang lebih dominan memperlihatkan aspek mental yang berupa jiwa tetapi, ditekankan kembali bahwa jiwa dan badan tetaplah merupakan kesatuan realitas yang tak terpisahkan dengan perannya masing-masing. Orang Jawa pun tidak semata-mata memandang realitas melalui perspektif dirinya, tetapi juga memandang realitas fisik dunia di luar dirinya, kemudian melihat jangkauan keterhubungan antara dirinya dengan realitas di luar dirinya.

Abstract

Indonesia is a plurality country which is indicated by the diversity of ethnicities, races, customs, languages, and religions. Plurality, including religion, can have implications for cooperation but also conflict. The facts show that the plurality of religions in Indonesia is in trouble. But inherently, all religions, including Hinduism, also have values that can overcome the problem of plurality, which is hidden in its theological concepts. This study aims to explore the Brahman and Ātman in the Īṣāvasya Upaniṣad ontologically and its relevance to the plurality of religions in Indonesia. This research is library research using a qualitative approach. The material objects of the research are Brahman and Ātman in the Īśāvasya Upaniṣad. Data collection in this study was carried out through document studies on primary and secondary data sources. Data analysis in this study used methodical steps of descriptive, interpretative, and holistic analysis. The results showed that the study of Brahman and Atman was ontologically described in several categories, including substance, quantity, quality, place, time, position, ownership, and action. In addition, this study contains value concepts relevant to religious plurality, including kinship, tolerance, harmony, divinity, holiness, nobility, brotherhood, empathy, love, and mutual respect.

Abstract

IntisariPendidikan adalah aspek sentral dalam pembentukan karakter dan kepribadian seseorang. Pendidikan yang baik dan berkualitas tentu akan menghasilkan sumber daya manusia yang juga berkualitas. Oleh sebab itu proses dan penyelenggaraan pendidikan adalah aspek terpenting dalam merealisasikan sumber daya yang berkualitas tersebut. Pada masa pandemi seperti saat ini, tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa kegiatan belajar dan mengajar mengalami berbagai kendala. Hal tersebut berawal dari diberlakukannya kebijkan pembatasan kegiatan sosial. Meski saat ini status pandemi di Indonesia telah diturunkan menjadi endemi namun kegiatan belajar mengajar belum sepenuhnya pulih. Beberapa sekolah masih membatasi kegiatan belajar mereka di sekolah dan masih melakukan pembelajaran secara mandiri dan daring. Beberapa orang berpendapat bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan sistem daring nilai lebih efektif dan secara ekonomis lebih hemat, namun apakah benar demikian? Apakah sistem pembelajaran ini dapat menjangkau seluruh lapisan masyarakat? apakah kesamaan kesempatan dan keadalian dalam memperoleh pendidikan telah diterima semua orang? Ini menjadi pertanyaan yang fundamental karena setelah dilakukan observasi lebih mendalam lagi melalui pendekatan filsafat pendidikan Marxisme ternyata didapatkan beberapa kejanggalan dan tendensi pada pelaksanaan pendidikan yang justru tidak ekonomis karena adanya beberpa kelompok yang dikategorikan sebagai bagian dari kelas tertindas tidak bisa mengakses pendidikan sebagaimana mestinya, padahal ketika kondisi yang normal mereka lebih memiliki kesempatan untuk mendapat pendidikan dan pengajaran yang maksimal. Dilihat dari sudut filsafat pendidikan Marxisme, pembelajaran Daring ini memiliki tendensi untuk mengalienasi para peserta didik satu dengan yang lainnya karena tidak memungkinkan mereka bertemu di dunia sesungguhnya. Hal ini juga dapat mempertajam perbedaan kelas di antara para peserta didik. Hal lain yang perlu diperhatikan juga adalah bahwa penyelenggaraan pendidikan berbasis daring ini membuka jalan bagi kapitalisme di dunia pendidikan dimana ada segelintir pihak yang mengambil keuntungan darinya, iklim kapitalistik seperti inilah yang tidak disetujui oleh Marxisme karena akan mendiskriminasi kelompok tertentu hanya karena menginginkan keuntungan belaka. Untuk itu pendidikan Marxisme menghendaki hal-hal seperti untuk dihapuskan.

Abstract

Indonesia is a plural country in many aspects, including: religion, customs, culture, language, and others. In fact, plurality has not only positive, but also negative impacts. Therefore, tolerance is an important value to maintain harmony in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to examine Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's thoughts and their relevance to the issue of religious tolerance in Indonesia. This study is intended to present alternative ideas on religious tolerance from Hinduism, especially the advaitic framework through Radhakrishnan's thought. Methodologically, this research is literature research on the thoughts of figures. Qualitative paradigm is used in this research with the material object is religious tolerance according to Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Research data is obtained through document studies. Data analysis includes interpretative, holistic and descriptive. The results of this study show that religious tolerance according to Radhakrishnan is assimilation, non-discrimination and respect for the values of religions, and the ultimate goal is brotherhood. The basis of Radhakrishnan's thoughts on religious tolerance: 1) God as the ineffable ultimate reality. Thus, the truth is possible to be present in every religion, and 2) Tat Twam Asi is a non-dual form of religious awareness and experience (advaita), which implies unity, compassion, overcoming differences and conflicts.

Abstract

This article explores the crisis narrative surrounding the erosion of democracy in Indonesia, with a particular emphasis on political and ethical responsibilities. It examines the prevailing consensus on the consequences, factors, and conceptualization of democracy, especially concerning political trust and ethical governance. The discussion underscores how democracy evolves by deconstructing and reshaping societal structures, drawing on Kantian philosophy and the core pillars of democratic society. The paper highlights the inherent flaws in democratic principles, demonstrating how these imperfections permit varying degrees of freedom within societal practices. It advocates for the value of cultivating a culture of open, public discourse aboutcollective societal objectives. However, it also points out that the actual practice of lawmaking, implementation, and enforcement often deviates from its doctrinal ideals, particularly when the law’s purported impartiality contrasts with its impact on marginalized communities. These inconsistencies are examined as outcomes of the exercise of political power, illustrating that the law is shaped by political morality and legitimacy rather than being wholly independent. Furthermore, the article delves into the decline of democracy by engaging in dialogue about the process of its deterioration, rather than simply questioning the reasons behind it. This study also explores democracy and philosophy both in theory and practice, framing law as a reflective inquiry into the democratic process. Ultimately, it advocates for the political concepts of democracy to be subjected to scientific analysis and validation.

Abstract

Ki Hadjar Dewantara is a central figure in education in Indonesia. His various thoughts were able to provide awareness to society during the Dutch colonial era, which did focus on education that was more oriented toward work skills. Ki Hadjar Dewantara through his great determination to establish an educational institution named "Taman Siswa" to restore the essence of education which gives the principle of independence. Education is also intended to help the growth and development of students so that students are active and able to realize all the competencies that exist in each individual student. This research seeks to find Ki Hadjar Dewantara's views regarding the concept of education and to see the position of Ki Hadjar Dewantara's thoughts regarding education in the structure of the philosophy of education. This study uses a qualitative method with a philosophical hermeneutic approach. The results of this study indicate that Ki Hadjar Dewantara's thoughts regarding the concept of education are more oriented toward the educational philosophy of essentialism, existentialism, progressivism, and perennials. So that in this context the idea of ​​Ki Hadjar Dewantara does not only rely on one school of educational philosophy, but is eclectic in nature, which means it combines several schools of educational philosophy which do not contradict one another but use positive principles from each school of philosophy. education and pay attention to the culture of Indonesian society.
