Abstract

Nowadays, many students use social media not only to communicate and get entertainment, but also to learn. Since students often use social media to learn various things, English-related content is one of the things that often be on their search. By using the social media, students are able to find various English content that may allow them to learn new things about English.This study aims to find out students' perceptions of using social media for learning English. The participants of this study are five eight-semester university students majoring in English Education. The researchers used a qualitative descriptive method with a questionnaire as the instrument. The results show that learning English from social media is quite effective; especially useful for interacting and communicating; increasing their ability to read, write, listen, and speak; and probably best to be alternative media to learn English but not being the primary source because social media could be a distraction while studying. Keywords:  Students’ Perception, Social Media, Learning English

Abstract

Smartphone technological developments provide possibilities for various social media applications to play an important role in today’s society. TikTok has become a favorite among almost all Indonesians as one of the most recent popular social media applications. As a result, the TikTok application is advised to be used wisely in order to benefit and have a positive impact in the world of education. Previous research, explains the TikTok application’s limited use for learning activities, particularly English. Therefore, this study aims to explore the potential benefits of the TikTok application for learning English for students' English proficiency. This study uses a qualitative approach to find out the benefits of the TikTok application as an innovation in learning media. 16 English Language Education students at Singaperbangsa Karawang University voluntarily took part in a quantitative survey research, using an online questionnaire as a research instrument. The findings show that there are four potential benefits to using the TikTok. The benefits found include time and location savings, educational content on the TikTok application is very informative, content on the TikTok application is easy to understand when learning English, and TikTok content can grow and increase students in learning English.  Furthermore, students stated that the TikTok application could be used for learning English in the classroom. Keywords:  Tiktok Application, Learning English, Innovation Media

Abstract

Distance learning during a pandemic like this is enough to make it difficult for some students to participate in learning activities. Google Classroom is an application that can be used as distance learning. Therefore, this study aims to obtain an overview of students’ perceptions of the effectiveness of using the Google Classroom application as an integration of distance learning technology. This research uses a qualitative method. With data collection techniques based on observations, interviews and filling out forms. With involving 30 students who have or are currently using the Google Classroom application as an integration of distance learning technology. The result of the study show that: (1) Students already have the basic facilities needed to participate in distance learning; (2) Distance learning using the Google Classroom application has flexibility in its implementation and is able to create independent learning and motivation to be more active in learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh modifikasi alat terhadap kemampuan tolak peluru dalam pembelajaran tolak peluru. Pendekatan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas X SMK Kesehatan Sentra Medika Cikarang. Sampel penelitian ini yaitu 20 siswa kelas X Keperawatan sebagai kelas kontrol dan 20 siswa kelas X Farmasi sebagai kelas eksperimen. Kelompok eksperimen diberikan perlakuan dengan menggunakan modifikasi alat dan kelompok kontrol diberikan perlakuan tidak menggunakan modifikasi alat. Kemampuan tolak peluru siswa yang menggunakan modifikasi alat lebih baik dari kemampuan tolak peluru tidak menggunakan modifikasi alat. Maka dari itu, kemampuan pemecahan masalah sistematis siswa menjadi lebih baik setelah melakukan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan modifikasi alat tolak peluru.

Abstract

Pendidikan jasmani, olahraga dan kesehatan pada dasarnya merupakan bagian integral dari sistem pendidikan secara keseluruhan, bertujuan untuk mengembangkan aspek kesehatan, kebugaran jasmani, keterampilan berpikir kritis, stabilitas emosional, keterampilan sosial, penalaran dan tindakan moral melalui aktivitas jasmani dan olahraga. Dalam upaya mendukung dan mengoptimalkan proses pembelajaran PJOK disekolah, dipengaruhi juga dengan pemberian makanan yang tepat secara kualitas dan kuantitas Sarapan pagi termasuk dalam Pedoman Gizi Seimbang Tahun 2014 pada pesan ke enam. Sarapan pagi bagi anak usia sekolah sangatlah penting, karena waktu sekolah adalah penuh aktivitas yang membutuhkan energi dan kalori yang cukup besar. Sarapan sehat terdiri dari makanan dan minuman yang sesuai dengan Pedoman Umum Gizi Seimbang (PUGS), yaitu terdiri dari protein hewani, protein nabati, karbohidrat, sayur, dan buah (Hardiansyah, 2012). Konsenterasi dalam belajar sangat penting bagi siswa agar fokus pada materi pelajaran yang sedang disampaikan oleh guru. Menurut Mastur dan Triyono (2014:47) Konsentrasi adalah pemusatan perhatian dan pikiran hanya pada yang sedang kita pelajari. Fakta yang terjadi disekolah MA Pembaharuan menunjukkan bahwa sebagian siswa memilih untuk tidak melakukan sarapan dengan berbagai alasan seperti terlambat bangun pagi, tidak sempat karena aktifitas sekolah jam 7 pagi, tidak terbiasa sarapan, merasa sakit perut jika sarapan, malas, dan tidak sesuai selera. Sehingga berpengaruh terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran yang diikuti siswa, mereka mudah lelah, kurang fokus ataupun ingin cepat mengakhiri pembelajaran karena merasa pusing dan kurang konsenterasi. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan maka dapat disimpulkan hipotesis pada uji wilcoxon sign rank test adalah nilai probabilitas (Asymp.Sig) 0,000 < 0,05. Maka Ho ditolak artinya terdapat pengaruh dan Ha diterima adanya pengaruh pola konsumsi sarapan sehat terhadap konsenterasi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran PJOK di MA Pembaharuan Kab. Bekasi. dengan hasil pengujian siswa kelas kontrol mempunyai nilai rata-rata 67,6 lebih kecil dibanding siswa kelas eksperimen yang mendapat nilai rata rata 73,9.

Abstract

This research is focused on improving students' ability in writing descriptive text with the mind mapping method. Mind mapping is one of the methods of learning that focuses on taking notes that help us remember the material and can improve understanding of the material, help organize material and provide new insights. With this method, students become more active, creativity, and can receive lessons easily. Although the descriptive text is not too difficult, there are still many students who find it difficult. The purpose of this study was to determine the students' ability in writing descriptive texts with the mind mapping method and to find out how teachers teach descriptive texts. This is qualitative research. In collecting data, the researcher used text analysis and observation. The writing components analyzed were idea development, idea organization, grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation. The results of this study illustrate that the mind mapping method helps improve students' ability in writing descriptive texts, as can be seen from the way students develop ideas and organize ideas into a paragraph. Behind all that, the researcher also found the students' biggest difficulties in writing descriptive texts. Difficulties in grammar, vocabulary, and mechanics also have errors, but the errors are not significant.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji Pengaruh model keterampilan project based learning terhadap kreativitas siswa dalam menciptakan gerak senam berirama pada siswa kelas VII di SMP Fajar Dunia. Subjek penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas VII A SMP Fajar Dunia. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 35 orang menggunakan total sampling. Dengan 10 kali pertemuan 2 di anataranya pretest dan pretest untuk mengukur tes awal dan tes akhir. Dalam melakukan tes awal di dapat nilai pretest dengan total skor 222 dan posttest dengan total skor 288. Hasil penelitian ini menujukan bahwa pengaruh model keterampilan project based learning terhadap dalam menciptakan gerak senam berirama berhasil mengalami peningkatan dengan t-hitung yang di hasilkan adalah 10,093 dan t-tabel sebesar 2,032 dengan nilai P=0,000. Hasil tersebut menghasilkan bahwa nilai t-hitung > t-tabel dan probilitas signifikan kurang dari 0,05. Sehingga dapat di simpulkan terdapat perbedaan yang nyata antara hasil Model Keterampilan Project Based Learning Pembelajaran Gerak Senam Berirama terhadap kreativitas siswa dalam menciptakan gerak senam berirama pada data pretest dan posttest. Sehingga model keterampilan project based learning memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap kreativitas siswa dalam gerakan senam berirama pada siswa kelas VII SMP Fajar Dunia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of motivation of class VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Karawang Timur. This research is a descriptive study. The method used in this research is survey method. The population in this study were students of class VII SMP Negeri 1 Karawang Timur. The size of the subjects used in this study were 345 students of class VII. Data collection techniques with a questionnaire (questionnaire). The results showed that the motivation level of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Karawang Timur towards the Android Application-Based Short Distance Running Numbers Athletics was in the VERY GOOD category with a percentage of 186.76%. Intrinsic motivation with sub-indicators which include Confidence, Desire, and Self-Confidence has a value of 6839.2 or as a percentage of 136.78% in the VERY GOOD category. For extrinsic motivation with sub-indicators which include Environment, Association, and Application Media, a score of 3303.2 or 136.78% is in the ENOUGH category

Abstract

Peran guru dalam inovasi dan pengembangan media pembelajaran sangat diperlukan mengingat guru dapat dikatakan sebagai pemain yang memegang peranan yang sangat penting dalam proses belajar mengajar di kelas, harus mampu menumbuhkembangkan kemampuannya untuk menciptakan media pembelajaran yang efektif dan efisien. Oleh karena itu, perkembangan yang sangat penting adalah inovasi pendidikan di bidang pendidikan atau inovasi untuk memecahkan masalah pendidikan. Jadi inovasi pendidikan adalah suatu ide, item, metode, yang dirasakan atau diamati sebagai suatu hal yang baru. Guru memiliki banyak peran dalam mendidik siswanya, diantaranya sebagai fasilitator dan mediator. Di masa pandemi saat ini, guru dituntut untuk beradaptasi dengan teknologi. Belajar adalah suatu proses perubahan perilaku dalam interaksi proses pembelajaran antara pendidik dan peserta didik dalam rangka membentuk dan mengembangkan cara berpikir peserta didik dalam meningkatkan dan mengkonstruksi pengetahuan baru yang diperoleh peserta didik. Sehingga pembelajaran dalam keadaan apapun tetap berjalan.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that occurred requires the government to take a stance to prevent the spread of the virus, including in the education sector. The online learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic had several problems. This research aims to find out the issues of Distance Learning or what is commonly referred to online during the Covid-19 pandemic and its solutions. Following the issues raised, this research data was obtained from various sources, such as journals, websites, and other sources. The results of this study indicate that there are multiple problems or problems experienced by students, namely, students become bored and less interested in participating in online learning activities because learning activities tend to be replaced with online assignments, students do not have learning support facilities, uneven internet network access sometimes tricky, high cost of internet quota, and not ready to implement the teaching and learning process remotely or online.
