Abstract

Disaster mitigation is an effort that can be done to prevent casualties and minimize losses, this is in line with the condition of Maluku which is prone to earthquakes. This PKM aims to provide knowledge and understanding of earthquake disaster mitigation. The service method is presented in the form of providing material, discussion and evaluation. It is hoped that the targeted catechism students (partners) can become “agents of change” in sharing information and knowledge with the general public about the importance of disaster emergency preparedness

Abstract

Coastal villages have direct access to coastal ecosystems, mangroves, seagrass beds, and coral reef ecosystems. Socio-ecologically, coastal villages have a linkage and dependence between coastal community activities and the existence of ecosystems/ecology. Knowledge of coastal areas is important for the people living around the area. Community Service is focused on teenagers/youth as part of the community with an educative counseling approach to the students of SMP Negeri Satu Atap Sather which aims to foster a sense of love and care for the coastal area and the ecosystem in it. Service activities went well. More intense and periodic education is needed to instill a caring attitude and a sense of love for the coastal and marine environment, so that coastal and marine resources can be maintained and sustainable

Abstract

Peningkatan penggunaan alat tangkap ramah lingkungan pada sektor perikanan sangatlah penting untuk menjaga keberlanjutan sumber daya laut. Kegiatan penyuluhan dan hasil pengukuran dalam mengevaluasi tingkat keramahan alat tangkap pancing ulur yang digunakan nelayan di Desa Labetawi, berdasarkan kriteria Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries (CCRF), mengcakup selektivitas alat tangkap, pengurangan bycatch, pengelolaan dampak terhadap habitat laut, keberlanjutan sumber daya perikanan, efisiensi sosial dan ekonomi, serta penerapan prinsip ekonomi biru. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan dan observasi terhadap penggunaan pancing ulur, wawancara dengan nelayan, analisis hasil tangkapan dan dampaknya terhadap lingkungan. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa alat tangkap pancing ulur memiliki tingkat selektivitas yang tinggi, mengurangi bycatch, dan tidak merusak habitat laut seperti terumbu karang dan padang lamun. Selain itu, penggunaan pancing ulur juga mendukung keberlanjutan sumber daya perikanan dengan hasil tangkapan ikan yang konsisten dan ramah terhadap lingkungan. Dari aspek sosial dan ekonomi, nelayan yang menggunakan pancing ulur mengalami peningkatan pendapatan dan efisiensi operasional, sehingga dapat mendukung prinsip ekonomi biru. Maka disimpulkan bahwa alat tangkap pancing ulur di Desa Labetawi, sangat memenuhi kriteria (CCRF), sebagai alat tangkap yang ramah lingkungan, dengan skor nilai keramahan 33,6 sehingga dapat menjadi model penerapan perikanan berkelanjutan pada wilayah pesisir lainya di Kota Tual, Provinsi Maluku.

Abstract

Community service activities were carried out regarding training or/techniques for stringing nets without trying in the Masrum sub-district, Tual City, which was a common goal to improve fishermen's understanding and ability in stringing nets. The technique used in implementing PkM is several implementation stages, namely: (1) the preparation stage is coordination with Masrum Village fishermen (2). Implementation stage; Theory and Practice Training in Sero Net Making; (3). Evaluation activities are carried out to determine the abilities of fishermen. The fishermen from Masrum sub-district took part in the training activity enthusiastically following both the training material and practice provided by the PkM team regarding how/techniques to string nets without using coban. The evaluation carried out showed that 70% of the participants really understood the material and practices carried out by the PkM team. The results obtained show that the PkM was successful, smooth and there was good interaction between the service team and the participants. The results of this activity will increase the knowledge and understanding of Masrum fishermen about how to untangle nets without using coban or special nets for fishing gear.

Abstract

Lift nets are a common fishing gear used in small-scale fisheries in coastal areas of Indonesia, including in Southeast Maluku Regency. This study aims to analyze the composition of floating lift net catches, variations in catches between fishing trips, and the condition of aquatic environmental parameters in Tanjung Vadsit, Southeast Maluku Regency. The study was conducted in October 2024 using direct observation methods during ten fishing trips. Data collected included the type and weight of catches and aquatic environmental parameters such as temperature, salinity, pH, and current velocity. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative methods. The results showed that the composition of floating lift net catches was dominated by small pelagic fish, especially anchovies (Stolephorus indicus), scad (Sardinella fimbriata), and blue anchovies (Engraulis encrasicolus). The total catch showed variations between fishing trips, reflecting the dynamics of fish resource availability and aquatic environmental conditions. Aquatic environmental parameters during the study were in a relatively stable range and supported fishing activities using floating lift nets. The results of this study are expected to provide basic information to support the sustainable management of floating net fisheries in the coastal areas of Southeast Maluku.Keywords: lift net, catch composition, small pelagic fish, capture fisheries
