Abstract

Jerawat merupakan masalah kulit yang disebabkan oleh bakteri yaitu bakteri Propionibacterium acnes. Mengatasi masalah jerawat dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan bahan alami seperti kulit kentang (Solanum tuberosum L.). Kulit kentang mengandung senyawa flavonoid dan polifenol yang memiliki efek antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat efektifitas sediaan facial wash gel ekstrak kulit kentang terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dengan berbagai konsentrasi ekstrak yaitu 5%, 10%, 15%, dan 20% melalui zona hambat yang dihasilkan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji aktivitas antibakteri metode difusi cakram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa facial wash gel ekstrak kulit kentang pada konsentrasi 5%, 10%, dan 15% tidak memiliki aktivitas anti bakteri. Sedangkan sediaan facial wash gel dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 20% memiliki aktivitas antibakteri melalui zona hambat sebesar 3,7 mm, 4,7 mm, dan 2,6 mm. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa sediaan gel pembersih wajah ekstrak kulit kentang 20% ​​memiliki efektivitas dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Propionibacterium acnes. Abstract

Buah anggur (Vitis vinifera Linn) mengandung polifenol dan antosianin yang cukup tinggi. Salah satu manfaat dari buah anggur yaitu sebagai antikolesterol dengan memodulasi metabolisme lipid dan menghambat oksidasi LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menetapkan nilai LD50 dari Ekstrak Etanol Anggur Merah (EEAM). Metode uji toksisitas akut pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode konvensional. Sebanyak 25 ekor tikus Wistar dibagi secara acak menjadi 5 kelompok, dengan jumlah masing-masing kelompok 5 ekor. Kelompok I diberikan aquades, kelompok II diberi EEAM dosis 500 mg/200gBB/hari, kelompok III diberi EEAM dosis 1000 mg/200gBB/hari, kelompok IV diberi EEAM dosis 1500 mg/200gBB/hari, kelompok V diberi EEAM dosis 2000 mg/200gBB/hari. Gejala toksik dan perubahan berat badan diamati selama 14 hari. Nilai LD50 dihitung menggunakan metode Thomson dan Weil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tikus yang diberi EEAM dosis 500 mg/kgBB menunjukkan gejala toksik yaitu ruam kulit pada hidung selama 3 hari, sedangkan pada dosis 1500 dan 2000 mg/kgBB tikus menunjukkan gejala toksik seperti kelemahan, tidur berlebihan, koma, perubahan berat badan dan kematian. Dosis 2000 mg/kgBB menyebabkan kematian pada semua tikus dalam kelompok tersebut (100%). Nilai LD50 yang diperoleh adalah 9,32 mg/kgBB, ekstrak anggur merah memiliki efek toksik pada tikus Wistar.

Abstract

Penyuluhan merupakan suatu cara yang dilakukan oleh seseorang untuk memperoleh informasi kesehatan atau derajat kesehatan secara maksimal.  Stunting merupakan penggambaran dari status gizi kurang yang bersifat kronik pada masa pertumbuhan dan perkembangan sejak awal kehidupan. Banyak faktor yang dapat menyebabkan terjadinya stunting pada balita seperti karakteristik balita maupun faktor sosial ekonomi. Stunting menjadi permasalahan karena berhubungan dengan meningkatnya risiko terjadinya kesakitan dan kematian, perkembangan otak suboptimal sehingga perkembangan motorik terlambat dan terhambatnya pertumbuhan mental. Penyuluhan ini bertujuan membantu meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat terutama ibu-ibu tentang pencegahan stunting pada balita dan merupakan salah satu bentuk Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi.  Penyuluhan diberikan dengan metode ceramah interaktif melalui pembagian leaflet, dan bakti sosial. Efektifitas penyuluhan diuji dengan pemberian kuisioner kepuasan mitra terhadap kegiatan yang dilaksanakan. Hasil pengamatan kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa Mitra merasa puas dengan kegiatan penyuluhan yang dilakukan.

Abstract

A wound patch is a dosage form that delivers drugs through the skin to produce systemic effects, with the advantage of controlled drug release. Centella asiatica (L.) Urb.) is widely used to heal incision wounds on the skin. The most important component was asiaticoside, which plays a major role in accelerating wound healing. This  study  was  conducted  to  test  the  effectiveness  of  transdermal  patches  from Centella asiatica (L.) Urb.) against incision  wounds was performed on 5 rabbits divided into different treatment groups, namely group I without treatment, group II wound patch base (negative control), group III plaster (positive control), and groups IV and V, comprising a wound patch of gotu kola leaf extract at concentrations of 16% and 32%, respectively. The data obtained were statistically tested for normality using the Shapiro-Wilk test.  The results showed that the wound patch preparation of 16% gotu kola leaf extract showed  a significant difference (p < 0.05) in wound length reduction compared to the negative and normal controls.  The wound healing time observed at concentrations of 16% and 32% provided wound healing effects. The best effect was observed at a concentration of 16%, with an average wound closure time of 12 days. It can be concluded that gotu kola leaf extract in the form of a wound patch preparation was effective in wound healing. Abstract

Breast cancer is a type of cancer that affects many women in Indonesia. Adjuvant hormone therapies, such as letrozole and ribociclib, have succeeded in improving the patient's quality of life. This study aimed to assess the quality of life of postmenopausal women with advanced breast cancer who received adjuvant hormone therapy with ribociclib and letrozole. A cross-sectional study was conducted using retrospective data from postmenopausal female breast cancer patients at Dharmais Cancer Hospital between 2020 and 2023 who met the inclusion criteria. To determine the impact of sociodemographics on patient quality of life, data were examined using the quality of life score (EQ5D5L) and Spearman test. There were 29 patients, with a mean age of 54.9 years (SD = 8.65); the highest education level was high school (34.5%); The majority of occupations are housewives (69%), and the majority are stage IV (34.5%). The mean utility and VAS values of Ribociclib were 0.885 and 81.66, respectively, whereas those for letrozole were 0.725 and 78.46, respectively. Analysis of the relationship between quality of life and patient characteristics showed that the quality of life of patients with breast cancer treated with adjuvant ribociclib and letrozole therapy was influenced by the stage of breast cancer (p = 0.008). These findings indicate that patients receiving ribociclib and letrozole therapy have a good quality of life, which quality of life quality of life is influenced by the stage of malignancy.  Keywords: breast cancer, quality of life, letrozole, ribociclib, post menopause

Abstract

Cosmetic hair dye preparations generally use synthetic dyes which often cause allergic reactions, one of which is Para-phenylenediamine. Butterfly pea flowers (Clitoria ternatea L.) and rosella flowers (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) contain anthocyanins which can be used as natural dyes. The aim of this research was to formulate a hair coloring cream preparation from a combination of butterfly pea flower extract and rosella flower extract using three different formulas. The extraction method to extract the dye from both flowers uses the maceration method and 70% ethanol solvent. The dye resulting from the maceration of telang flowers is deep purple and for rosella flowers it is heart red, the combination of the two produces several color variations. The results of the cream formulation of butterfly pea flower extract and rosella flower extract with a ratio of 15:5 (F1) produce a royal purple color, a ratio of 10:10 (F2) produces a vivid violet color and a ratio of 5:15 (F3) produces plum. The results of the evaluation of the physical preparations of the three formulas met the requirements for homogeneity, pH and spreadability. The results of the color stability test showed that soaking for 4 hours produced hair color, purple (F1), light purple (F2) and light magenta (F3) and washing did not last long up to 15 times. The results of the color stability test against exposure to sunlight show that the color produced in the hair does not change with 5 hours of exposure to sunlight. The irritation test produces an irritation index of F0=0.11, F1=0.22, F2=0.27 and F3=0.22 which states that the irritation is very mild.
