Abstract

Keragaman genetik melalui induksi mutasi dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai salah satu metode dalam program pemuliaan tanaman untuk meningkatkan variasi genetik. Mutasi pada tanaman dapat dilakukan dengan senyawa anti mitosis seperti kolkisin. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui respon fenotipe tiga varietas tomat akibatpemberian kolkisin dan mengetahui konsentrasi kolkisin yang mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan ketiga varietas tersebut. Rancangan percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Faktorial dengan duafaktor. Faktor pertama berupa varietas tomat yang terdiri atas 3 jenis, yaitu varietas Rewako (V1), varietas Tymoti(V2), dan varietas Tropical ruby (V3). Faktor kedua berupa konsentrasi kolkisin dengan 4 taraf, yaitu 0% (K0), 0,2% (K1). 0,3% (K2), dan 0,4% (K3). Parameter penelitian yang diamati adalah presentase perkecambahan, tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan diameter batang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi kolkisin tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap presentase perkecambahan, tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun. Diameter batang pada 0,3% dan 0,2% kolkisin lebih besar dibandingkan pada perlakuan 0% dan 0,4%.

Abstract

In order to improve the degree of public health, one thing that can be done is planting and utilizing TOGA (family medicinal plants). TOGA development can also be used as a flagship program for residents in East Sakerta Village (Saktim) Darma District, Kuningan Regency, in addition to improving health as well as being a superior product to increase the economic value of the community through post-harvest processing. This community service aims to increase the knowledge and abilities of community members, especially members of the tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis) in Saktim Village in the utilization and processing of medicinal plants into more economical drug dosage forms. Community service activities in the Increasing the Role of Women towards a Healthy and Prosperous Family (P2WKSS) program are carried out by providing counseling about the properties of medicinal plants, and training in making TOGA gardens and the process of making traditional medicines.

Abstract

When Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermis are isolated from acne-proneskin, the essential oil and curcuminoids in curcumin (Curcuma zanthorrhiza Roxb) exhibitantibacterial activity against blemished skin. The purpose of this study was to create an antiacne loose powder using Curcuma rhizome extract and to determine which formulationsmeet the best test requirements. Extraction was carried out using the maceration methodwith 96% ethanol solvent. The powder formulation consisted of alba bolus, magnesiumcarbonate, magnesium stearate, zinc oxide, oleum rosae, and talc, developed withtemulawak rhizome extract at concentrations of F0 (0%), F1 (8%), F2 (10%), and F3 (12%).The evaluation of the powder preparation was organoleptic, humidity, powder flow rate,specific gravity, and pH.. The results indicated that the F1 formulation's humidity test resultsof less than 10%, the speed of the powder flow evaluation test results was 15.6%, the angleof repose test result was 26.6°, and the measurement of pH showed that the result of 6fulfilled the requirements. Based on a physical test of the anti-acne loose powder, theCurcuma rhizome extract in the FI formulation with an 8% concentration produced optimalresults. Abstract

Buah anggur (Vitis vinifera Linn) mengandung polifenol dan antosianin yang cukup tinggi. Salah satu manfaat dari buah anggur yaitu sebagai antikolesterol dengan memodulasi metabolisme lipid dan menghambat oksidasi LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein). Gejala toksik dan perubahan berat badan diamati selama 14 hari. Nilai LD50 dihitung menggunakan metode Thomson dan Weil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tikus yang diberi EEAM dosis 500 mg/kgBB menunjukkan gejala toksik yaitu ruam kulit pada hidung selama 3 hari, sedangkan pada dosis 1500 dan 2000 mg/kgBB tikus menunjukkan gejala toksik seperti kelemahan, tidur berlebihan, koma, perubahan berat badan dan kematian. Dosis 2000 mg/kgBB menyebabkan kematian pada semua tikus dalam kelompok tersebut (100%). Nilai LD50 yang diperoleh adalah 9,32 mg/kgBB, ekstrak anggur merah memiliki efek toksik pada tikus Wistar.

Abstract

Scented Candle (lilin aromaterapi) dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai relaksasi. Lilin aromaterapi merupakan produk alternatif yang kekuatannya dapat dirasakan melalui indera penciuman (dengan pernafasan). Bahan alam yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai aromaterapi yaitu minyak daun mint (Mentha piperita L.) dan minyak kakao (Teobroma cacao L.). Kandungan minyak atsiri dan menthol pada minyak daun mint dapat berinteraksi dengan system syaraf pusat dan kandungan minyak kakao berupa teobromine menstimulasi kerja otak dan merileksasikan suasana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah kombinasi minyak daun mint dan minyak kakao dapat diformulasikan menjadi lilin aromaterapi untuk relaksasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan jenis penelitian eksperimental dengan membuat formulasi sediaan lilin aromaterapi dengan konsentrasi perbandingan minyak daun mint dan minyak cacao yaitu, F0 (0%:0%) F1 (2%:4%), F2 (3%:3%), F3 (4%:2%) selanjutnya dilakukan evaluasi sifat fisik sediaan lilin aromaterapi meliputi uji organoleptik, uji waktu bakar, uji titik leleh, uji kesukaan dan uji efektivitas terhadap 27 responden. Hasil uji waktu bakar paling lama 6 jam 41 menit, uji titik leleh kisaran 50°C- 55°C, uji hedonik scented candle yang paling disukai oleh responden dengan presentasi tertinggi yaitu 44,44% (sangat suka sekali) ditunjukan pada F2 dengan konsentrasi (3%:3%) dan untuk uji efek terapi dapat disimpulkan scented candle kombinasi minyak daun mint dan minyak cokelat memberikan rangsangan positif bagi responden sehingga dapat menstimulasi kerja otak dan merileksasikan suasana. Minyak daunt mint dan minyak cokelat dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan scanted candle sebagai aromaterapi untuk relaksasi dan sudah sesuai dengan SNI : 0386-1989-A/SII.

Abstract

Purple leaves in Indonesia can be used as an anti-inflammatory medication and laxative to treat hemorrhoids, rheumatism, boils, and skin diseases. Purple leaves are also used as free-radical antidotes. This was due to the presence of secondary metabolite compounds in purple leaves. The right extraction method determines the amount of flavonoids that can be extracted and achieves a high flavonoid content. This study aimed to determine the total flavonoid content and antioxidant activity of purple leaves using different extraction methods, namely maceration and Soxhletation. This study employed an experimental method of testing total flavonoid levels using UV-Vis spectrophotometry and antioxidant activity using the DPPH method. The results showed that the maceration method yielded a total flavonoid level of 4,422 ± 0,047 ppm, which was higher than that obtained using the Soxhletation method (1,547 ± 0,027 ppm). In the antioxidant activity test, vitamin C was used as a comparator, with an IC50 of 2.263 ppm (very strong). The IC50 of purple leaf extract using the maceration method was 123,32 ppm (medium), while the soxhletation method yielded an IC50 of 104,42 ppm (medium). This shows that vitamin C has more potent antioxidant activity in counteracting free radicals than purple leaf extract, using maceration and Soxhletation methods. The  results showed a significant difference in total flavonoid levels using different extraction methods, while there was no significant difference in the antioxidant activity of purple leaf extract using maceration and  Soxhletation methods.   Keywords: antioxidant, extraction, flavonoid, maceration, purple leaf, soxhletation

Abstract

Cisantana Village is endowed with abundant natural resources due to its geographical location on the slopes of Mount Ciremai, making it a potential tourist village. However, this potential has not been optimally utilized due to the lack of proper management of the village's land resources. Therefore, providing assistance in identifying and cultivating medicinal plants has emerged as a viable solution to prepare Cisantana as a Herbal Tourism destination. This community service activity aimed to disseminate information about medicinal plants identified through exploration and expeditions in Cisantana Village, and to enhance participants' skills in cultivating these valuable plants. The participants in this activity were members of the Dahlia Integrated Health Post Working Group and the Cisantana Village Government. The results of the activity revealed that there are 26 types of herbal plants in Cisantana Village. Furthermore, there was an increase in public understanding of the benefits of medicinal plants, from 65% to 80%, and an increase in understanding of how to cultivate medicinal plants, from 70% to 85%.

Abstract

The role of cadres is very much needed in posyandu services, apart from being tasked with providing education to parents regarding the importance of providing adequate and balanced nutritional intake but also helping to monitor the nutritional. One plant that can help kids eat more is Temulawak; its curcuminoid content and essential oils can support the function of the pancreas and bile to improve food absorption in the intestines; additionally, the nutrients in pure milk are critical for the development of healthy bones and teeth, so feeding kids this combination can help them eat better. This community service aims to increase the role of posyandu cadres through training activities on processing medicinal plants into temulawak milk candy (Sutela) in an effort to increase children's appetite. The method used is in the form of counseling and training for posyandu cadres on how to process ginger and pure milk plants into silk candy in Sukamulya Village. As a tool to ensure the achievement of this service activity, an assessment is carried out using a questionnaire before the counseling begins to measure participants' initial knowledge and after the counseling to evaluate the extent to which participants' understanding and knowledge have increased after participating. The result of this community service is that posyandu cadre participants enthusiastically took part in this activity, this can be seen from the number of participants who attended, namely 90% and increased knowledge of participants relating to counseling and training materials delivered before and after the activity, namely before the activity by 30,8% and after by 95,4%.  In conclusion, there is an increase in the theoretical understanding and skills of posyandu cadres regarding the processing of temulawak milk candy which is beneficial for children's health in Sukamulya Village.
