Abstract

Lalat merupakan salah satu serangga yang termasuk ke dalam ordo Diptera. Beberapa spesies lalat merupakan spesies yang berperan dalam masalah kesehatan, yaitu sebagai vektor penularan penyakit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis lalat yang dapat di temukan di beberapa pasar di Surabaya dan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat bakteri Salmonella, Shigella, Escheriscia coli, and Staphylococcus pada eksoskeleton lalat. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini ini adalah dengan cara mengumpulkan lalat menggunakan insek net dan umpan. Kemudian lalat di identifikasi jenisnya di Laboratorium Parasitologi, Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Airlangga. Kemudian dilakukan isolasi dan identifikasi bakteri yang terdapat pada eksoskeleton di Labroratorium Bakteriologi, Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Airlangga. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama bulan November sampai Desember 2013. Hasil dari penelitian ini di dapatkan tiga spesies lalat dominan, yaitu Musca domestica, Chrysomya megacephala, and Sarcophaga haemorrhoidalis. Pada eksoskeleton lalat tersebut terdapat bakteri Staphylococcus, E. coli, Salmonella spp., dan Shigella spp.

Abstract

This was a Community Service activity that aims to share knowladge about utilization of Curcuma Molasses Block (CMB) to increase performance of goats that infected gastrointestinal (GI) parasites to The Goat Breeder Group at  Wonorejo, Wates District, Kediri Regency. The activities include: counseling about raising goat management, presentasion on worm diseases that infect goats and CMB as anthelmentic, workshop and practice to make CMB, detection egg worm in goat`s feces, treatment on infected goats and filling out questionnaires evaluating the performance of goat before and after giving CMB. The result show that all of feces samples were positive contain egg worms of  Haemonchus contortus, Chabertina ovina, Trichuris globulosa, Strongyloides papillosus, Fasciola gigantica, Trichostrongylus spp., Toxocara sp., and Oesohagustomum columbianum even also protozoans  Eimeria sp., and Blastocystis sp. Administration CMB increase performance of worm-infected goats which indicated by increase in appetite, soft and shiny hair and the body more well-fed.

Abstract

The research was done to investigated and find out whether in the rat’s (Rattus sp.) body in Surabaya contained zoonotic helminth.This research used 31 rats taken from North Surabaya, South Surabaya, East Surabaya, West Surabaya and Central Surabaya, regardless of gender and age. 1 sample from Mulyosari, 3 samples from Bratang, 7 samples from Pegirian, and 20 samples came from Keputran. The result of 31 samples of rat’s digestive organs examine using a surgical method showed positive resulth of the presence of Hymenolepis diminutain the intestine and 5 positive samples were Capillaria hepatica, and then 25 positive samples were Taenia taeniaformis obtained from rat liver organs. From exploration using a microscope, 27 samples showed positive result in the presence of Capillaria hepatica’s eggs. Helminth found in this research are Hymenolepis diminuta, Taenia taeniaformis. and Capillaria hepatica which are zoonotic.
