Abstract

This paper analyzes the contributions of Shaykh Muhammad ‘Abduh to modernity, and his struggle for change and reform in Egyptian society. Abduh was hailed as the “first leader of modern thought in Egypt”, “the father of the 20th century Muslim thought” and “pioneers of the modernist movement in the Arab world”, whose legacy in the history of Islamic reform was significant, carrying dynamic role in the transformation and reinterpretation of Islam in contemporary thought. His contribution to Islamic modernism was clearly seen in liberalizing the educational system, transforming the Islamic worldview, and integrating western and Islamic ideals and tradition. Keywords: Muhammad Abduh, Islamic modernism, educational reform.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the competitiveness of the Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) product owned by the "Bu Kun" MSME located in RT 11, Yosodadi Sub-district, through a branding strategy based on creative and attractive packaging design. The main problem faced by the MSME was the simple packaging, which failed to reflect the product’s quality and benefits. The program was implemented in several stages, including initial observation, discussion with the MSME, packaging design planning, and implementation of new bottle and label packaging with eye-catching visuals and natural colors. The assistance also included branding education to strengthen product identity and increase consumer loyalty. The results showed increased professionalism among the MSME actors and positive consumer responses, evidenced by rising sales through social media and local marketplaces. This program is expected to serve as a model for empowering other MSMEs in optimizing local product potential through design and targeted branding approaches.

Abstract

This community service program aims to foster environmental awareness in students by training them to grow vegetables using egg shell waste. The activity was carried out at TPQ Sabilil Mustaqim, Metro City, as a response to the low ecological awareness among children and the underutilization of household organic waste. The method used includes initial observation, education based on Islamic values, and hands-on practice of planting vegetables using egg shells as media. The results show an improvement in students' understanding of the importance of environmental conservation, a positive attitude change such as avoiding littering, and the formation of a “Santri Planting Corner” as a sustainable ecological learning space. Additionally, this program successfully integrates Islamic values with environmental literacy through a simple yet effective practical approach. This approach not only builds ecological awareness in children from an early age but also offers a model that can be replicated in other religious educational institutions. The training has proven effective in connecting character education, environmental conservation, and community empowerment based on TPQ, contributing to the creation of a generation that is both environmentally conscious and morally upright.

Abstract

Kecemasan sosial adalah kondisi emosional yang memiliki rasa takut, cemas, serta rasa khawatir terhadap penilaian negatif terhadap dirinya ketika berinteraksi dengan orang lain maupun dari lingkungan sosialnya. Kecemasan sosial yang dialami siswa mengalami pergaulan yang terbatas dan kurang beradaptasi dengan lingkungan sosialnya karena mereka akan berpikir disaat tindakan yang mereka lakukan tidak sesuai dengan orang lain maka akan dinilai negatif atau telah melakukan hal yang memalukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah : 1) Melihat keadaan kecemasan sosial siswa di SMP Erlangga Kota Agung Timur; 2) Melihat partisipasi siswa SMP Erlangga Kota Agung Timur pada pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam; dan 3) Pengaruh kecemasan sosial terhadap partisipasi siswa dalam pembelajaran pendidikan agama islam di SMP Erlangga Kota Agung Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Populasi pada penelitian ini berjumlah 135 orang yang di pilih menggunakan rumus slovin sehingga mendapatkan sampel 57 responden. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunkan uji hipotesis berupa uji T, uji Anova dan uji regresi linier sederhana. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa : 1) Kecemasan sosial siswa SMP Erlangga Kota Agung Timur pada skor tertinggi 46% dengan banyak di dominasi oleh perempuan sebesar 44% yang disebabkan oleh pengalaman traumatik sehingga mengakibatkan sulitnya berinteraksi dengan lingkungannya; 2) Siswa yang mengalami kecemasan sosial akan cenderung diam dan menghindari keterlibatannya dalam interaksi pembelajaran di dalam kelas dengan presentase tingkat keaktifan di kelas pada kategori rendah 28%, tetapi pada kedisiplinan memiliki presentase tinggi yaitu 49% selalu mengerjakan tugas dan 53% tidak pernah terlambat masuk kelas; 3) Hasil uji hipotesis pada uji t memperoleh nilai t_hitung sebesar 15,256 dan memiliki nilai signifikansi pada pada uji t sebesar 0,000. Artinya, 15,256 > 1,673 dan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Besaran pengaruh kecemasan sosial terhadap partisipasi siswa yaitu 30%. Maka hal ini menyatakan hipotesis Ha diterima dan hipotesis Ho ditolak. Dengan demikian disimpulkan bahwa kecemasan sosial yang di alami oleh siswa berpengaruh terhadap partisipasi siswa pada pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam.

Abstract

The problem with this research is that there is no affective evaluation in the subject of moral beliefs. One of the curricula that is still being implemented at MTs Muhammadiyah Purbolinggo East Lampung is the 2013 Curriculum which includes assessment of the affective (attitude), cognitive (knowledge) and psychomotor (skills) domains. However, in its implementation at MTs Muhammadiyah Purbolinggo, East Lampung, there is no special assessment for the affective domain in the Aqidah Akhlak subject. Therefore, the research seeks to examine the development of the Affective Evaluation Model for Aqidah Moral Subjects at MTs Muhammadiyah Purbolinggo, East Lampung. This research aims to find out how to develop an affective evaluation model for the Aqidah Akhlak subject and to determine the effectiveness of the affective evaluation model for the Aqidah Akhlak subject at MTs Muhammadiyah Purbolinggo, East Lampung. The research method used is the Brog and Gall R&D development method. The research subjects were students of class VIII C MTs Muhammadiyah Purbolinggo East Lampung. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis used was a media validation questionnaire and a respondent questionnaire which was measured using a Likert scale with a score range of 1-5. Based on the research results, it shows that the development of an affective evaluation model for the Aqidah Akhlak subject at MTs Muhammadiyah Purbolinggo, East Lampung in the form of an affective evaluation pocket book is effective and interesting with a very attractive feasibility scale if the model response level in affective evaluation in large and small groups reaches 81%-100 %, attractive reaches 61%-80%, quite attractive reaches 41%-60%, less attractive reaches 21%-40%, and very unattractive reaches 0%-20%. The feasibility of the affective evaluation model in the Aqidah Akhlak subject obtained results from the material validator with a percentage of 73% and the design validator with a percentage of 80%, so the affective evaluation model developed by the researcher is declared "feasible". The effectiveness of the affective evaluation model response carried out in small and large groups received an overall percentage score of 85.7%, so the affective evaluation model in the Aqidah Akhlak subject was declared "very interesting".
