Abstract

Israel and Palestine have been at war with one another for many years. Israel and Palestine believe they are entitled to the same area as a piece of the state's territory, so Israel keeps attacking Palestine. This research talks about Israel's aggression towards Palestine in 2022 and how those violations of international humanitarian law relate to that aggression. In armed conflict, humanitarian law has established mechanisms. In 2022, Israel engaged in several military operations in the Palestinian territory that cost the lives of troops and civilians.

Abstract

Venezuela's financial crisis is causing significant suffering to its people. The presence of the COVID-19 pandemic has made Venezuela's list even heavier. The IMF is known as an international financial organization that is often involved in handling financial crises in several affected countries. However, the IMF's involvement in handling the financial crisis and health crisis at the same time was the first experience for the IMF. This research is necessary because it seeks to reveal the IMF's involvement in Venezuela's financial crisis during COVID-19 and makes this the first experience for the IMF in efforts to resolve a country's financial crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research discusses the role of the IMF in resolving Venezuela's economic crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research uses the concepts of foreign aid and economic liberalization with descriptive qualitative research methods and data collection techniques from various documents, books, archives, journals, and theses. This research shows that the IMF has a significant role in resolving Venezuela's economic crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic, including by providing loans, advice and training in crisis management, which can help Venezuela improve its economy and implement economic liberalization in order to pursue Venezuela's economic system more open for the development of economy. Keywords: IMF, Venezuela, Economic Crisis, Foreign Aid, Economic Liberalization

Abstract

This paper will examine Qatar's nation branding efforts during the 2022 FIFA World Cup mega event. With this aim, the focus of the analysis will lead to Qatar's strategy in carrying out nation branding and public diplomacy to bring the image and identity of Islam to the world community. Organizations like the FIFA World Cup are important milestones in history; therefore, the competition to host the World Cup is getting tougher, and Qatar makes history as the first Arab country in the Middle East to change the course of World Cup history. Overall, the World Cup in Qatar seems to have dispelled many myths and instilled a lot of kindness, respect, and hospitality when visiting a Muslim country. This paper uses the concept of nation branding from Simon Anholt. This research uses qualitative research methods with descriptive techniques. The findings of this paper are that: first, the implications of public diplomacy echoed by Qatar during the 2022 World Cup succeeded in breaking down the bad stigma and world stereotypes towards Islam; secondly, the state of Qatar contributes to clearly showing local Arab and Islamic culture and highlighting aspects of Arab-Islamic civilization to the world; and thirdly, The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be an extraordinary event with interests that are not only limited to football competitions but rather a manifestation of the goals that Qatar has set out in the Qatar National Vision 2030, which include economic diversification, support for environmental initiatives, human development, and social progress.

Abstract

Israel's atrocities against the people of Palestine in Gaza have entered an unprecedented stage through acts of genocide. Moreover, America's partiality towards Israel has an impact on the reluctance of other state actors to intervene deeply. However, the behavior of state actors is inversely proportional to non-state actors (individuals). The international community strongly supports Gaza through digital disruption in influencing international politics. This research attempts to explain how digital disruption helps international society advocate for Palestinians in the genocidal act conducted by Israel. The main instrument used in this research is Transnational Advocacy Networks (TAN) by Margaret Keck and Kathryn Sikkink. This research used a qualitative-descriptive method with primary and secondary data. Findings of this research are: First, despite the positive and negative stigma, digital disruption contributes significantly to empowering non-state actors (individuals) in international politics. Second, digital disruption impelled non-state actors (individuals) to pressure state actors into an anarchic international order. Third, two significant phenomena (digital disruption and genocide) became supporting tools and drivers for the emergence of new strategic methods as advocacy efforts in the resistance movement. In general, this research sees that massive digital disruption has provided an opportunity for the international society (non-state actors) to fight for justice for the people of Palestine in Gaza for the occupation and genocide by Israel.

Abstract

This article provides a new perspective on responding to the turmoil in Palestine from 1948 to the present. The main argument of this article is that the primary cause of the Palestinian issue is the existence of the Zionist Jewish occupiers in Palestinian land, supported by the United States and its allies. Hence, the solution to this occupation is to liberate Palestine from Zionist occupation. This study uses the concept of jihad in Islam as a framework to explain the steps in liberating Palestine. The method used is qualitative analysis of data collected from various books, journals, and websites. This study finds that, given the current conditions in Palestine, the approach of jihad is the most realistic approach that pro-Palestinian Muslim-majority countries can undertake. However, the implementation process is inaccessible due to several factors, including the political, economic, and military conditions in Muslim countries, as well as the dominant ideologies currently followed and applied by these countries.

Abstract

The Red Sea is a strategic region that connects the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, and is a vital trade and transportation route for the world. However, it has also witnessed conflicts and tensions between various actors, including Israel and the Yemeni Houthi. This research aims to analyze why the Yemeni Houthi blockade Israeli-bound merchant ships in the Red Sea, and how it impacts regional and global stability. This research uses a qualitative method with literature study techniques to obtain data from various sources, such as books, journals, reports, media, and official documents. The results showed that the blockade of Israeli merchant ships by the Yemeni Houthi in the Red Sea was motivated by political, economic, military, and ideological factors, relating to the conflict between Israel and the Yemeni Houthi, the Yemeni civil war, the Saudi-Iranian rivalry, and the United States' support for Israel. The blockade negatively impacts regional and global stability, as it creates insecurity, economic losses, humanitarian crises, and diplomatic obstacles between the actors involved.
