Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of production costs on the income of weaving craftsmen during the COVID-19 pandemic (a case study of Bira Village, Bonto Bahari District, Bulukumba Regency). This research area was a well-known weaving craftsman area in South Sulawesi with a total of weaving craftsmen in Bira Village, which has four hamlets, namely Pungkarese Hamlet, Birakeke Hamlet, Tanetang Hamlet, and Liukangloe Hamlet. In total, in the four hamlets, there were 105 weaving craftsmen, but in this research, the sample was carried out using a formula with an error limit of 10%, so that the sample used was 52 people. In terms of data collection for this research, method of observation, questionnaire technique, and documentation were used. This research was conducted from May to July 2022. The type of research method applied in this research was descriptive research using quantitative. The analytical method was demonstrated by describing the impact of production costs on the income of weaving craftsmen in Bira Village, Bonto Bahari District, Bulukumba Regency. This test was assisted by the programs (SPSS), Simple Linear Regression Analysis, Coefficient of Determination (R2), T-Test. The results of the hypothesis test proved that the results of a simple linear regression test obtained Y = 9.917 + 0.729x, means that the constant value was 9.917 with a regression coefficient of 0.729, indicating that the direction of the influence of the variable X on Y  was positive and the value sig0.000 <0,05, revealing that production costs have a significant effect on the income of weaving craftsmen during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bira Village, Bonto Bahari District, Bulukumba Regency. The influence of the raw material inventory control variable on the production process was 56.7%, while the remaining 43.3% was influenced by other objects

Abstract

Abstrak: This community service activity aims to enhance the skills and self-confidence of children in Galeso Village through the implementation of educational competitions that actively involve the community. Children are the nation’s most valuable assets and require special attention during their developmental stages, especially in the golden age period, which plays a crucial role in shaping their character and potential. Based on observations, children in Galeso Village tend to have limited access to educational and social activities, highlighting the need for programs that can stimulate their cognitive, affective, and social abilities. Educational competitions such as drawing contests, poetry reading, and educational games were conducted as a means to foster courage, creativity, and self-confidence among children in a healthy competitive environment. The results of the program showed an increase in enthusiasm and participation among children, along with strong support from parents and the community. The children appeared more confident in performing in public, collaborating in groups, and expressing their opinions. In addition to providing a fun learning experience, the activity also strengthened social relationships among children, parents, and the community. Overall, this program has had a positive and sustainable impact on character development in Galeso Village.

Abstract

Abstract This community service activity was carried out at Ceppa Petabu Beach, Dusun 5, Galeso Village, Wonomulyo District, Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi. The main objective was to increase the awareness and concern of local communities and tourists toward environmental cleanliness through a visual innovation in the form of aesthetic educational signboards. This program was motivated by the growing waste problems in coastal tourism areas, which are largely caused by visitors’ low awareness of environmentally friendly behavior. The implementation methods included participatory discussions with village officials and the community, hands-on practice in designing and installing educational signboards, and observational evaluations of visitor responses. The results showed an increase in community participation in maintaining environmental cleanliness, improvement in local residents’ skills in creating creative educational media, and behavioral changes among tourists in disposing of waste properly. Furthermore, the educational signboards, which also serve as aesthetic photo spots, successfully enhanced the tourism appeal and strengthened the image of Ceppa Petabu Beach as an environmentally conscious destination. This activity has provided tangible benefits to the community, increased ecological awareness, and become a model for the development of community-based educational tourism that is creative and sustainable.
