Abstract

ABSTRACTEnergy is a crucial global issue. Demand for energy increases every year. According todata collected by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (2006) Indonesia’s oilsupply amounts to a mere 9 billion barrels, which will run out with continued consumption. To decrease dependency on fossil fuels, the government has issued Peraturan PresidenRepublik Indonesia number 5 year 2006 about National Energy Policies to developalternative renewable energy resources. Energy experts around the world are now researchingand developing renewable energy, one of which is biogas. This research is done in Totabuanvillage, district of Lolak, Bolaang Mongondow regency, using experimental methods withdescriptive analysis of the formation of biogas using biodigester technology with a permanent12 m3 dome-type reactor. Biogas started forming on the 9th day, up to the 26th day, with 12m3 of raw materials, which is a 1:1 mix of cow feces with water (6 m3 cow feces and 6 m3water), and yielded 4,68 m3 of biogas that can be used to cook for 12,3 hours. Each 1 m3 ofbiogas can be used to cook for 2,63 hours. Biogas yield is 39%Keywords: Energy, Renewable, Biodigester, Biogas.

Abstract

ABSTRACTSoil tillage aims to create physical soil condition suitable for plant growth. It does that by improving soil water and air association as well as water movement in soil. Mechanical soil tillage requires lots of energy; therefore, good tillage practice needs to carefully consider a proper soil condition in order to get the required result. A technical test to Kubota tractor type M9540 with 95 horsepower was done in this research, as it has never been done before in specific soil condition, topography, and climate of the North Sulawesi. The objectives of this research were to measure aspects of effective field capacity and field efficiency, fuel consumption, to calculate tillage cost and tractor Break Even Point. Soil tillage results were also evaluated by measuring soil bulk density, water infiltration and moisture content before and after tillage. The test was done by cultivating the dry land through performing primary and secondary tillage, each was carried out in three replications. The results show that average effective field capacity for first primary tillage was 1.55 m2/second (0.56 ha/hour), second primary tillage was 1.75 m2/second (0.63 ha/hour), and the secondary tillage was 2.72 m2/second (0.98 ha/hour) with average field efficiency was 77.40%, 80.72%, and 56.17% respectively.Total time to complete the first and second primary tillage was 0.11 hour and 0.10 hour, with diesel fuel consumption of 64.17 liters/ha, and 55.44 liters/ha. The secondary tillage required 0.06 hour and fuel consumption of 28.72 liters/ha.The primary and secondary tillage were found to influence the soil moisture content, bulk density, and rate of water infiltration. Tillage basic cost is calculated as Rp.1.765.683 /ha to result a hire charge of Rp. 1.942.251 /ha, and the tractor break-even point was found to be 552 ha/year.Keywords: Tractor, tillage

Abstract

ABSTRACT       This study aims to design and make a soybean planting tool with aspects that need to be considered such as planting conditions, number of seeds per planting hole, planting distance, seed conditions when planted, and planting efficiency. The expected outcome of this research is that it can produce soybean planting tools that can be used by farmers and academics to support government programs in increasing national soybean production.      The process of designing and manufacturing tools was carried out at the Agriculture Technology laboratory and planting or testing the performance of the tools carried out in the Unsrat village of Wailan experimental village in North Tomohon District. This research began from April 8 to May 20 2019 for the manufacture of tools and the planting process was carried out on May 22, 2019 using a planting tool that had been made with a hand tractor as a towing force and 3 weeks of observation of growing soybeans. The soybean varieties grown are Dega 1 soybean variety which is the best variety according to 2017 R & D data.      Data obtained after the process of planting and observing soybeans for 3 weeks was in the form of field efficiency data of 81.57%. with the percentage of seeds growing 61.59% and the percentage of seeds not growing 38.41%. The total percentage of seed growth is closely related to the performance of the tool because the tool still has a deficiency in the metering device that has a gap with the hopper resulting in the seeds entering the gap breaking and unable to grow when planted.  Keywords : Soybean planting tools, Spacing, Dega 1, Growing seed percentage, Field efficiency, Metering device

Abstract

Abstract Sprinkler irrigation is the provision of water to crops by spraying water into the air, so that the plants get water from above like rain. The principle used by this system is to put pressure on the water in the pipe and emit it into the air so that it resembles rain and then falls on the ground. The purpose of this study is to test the performance and calculate ef iciency and uniformity of water supply by using irrigation sprinkler of the type big gun 1.25 inch. The method used is an experimental method and a descriptive analysis method, which focuses on performance testing using a irrigation unit sprinkler of type Big Gun 1.25 inch. This study uses several components of equipment such as a spinkler, water pump and hose on the plantation land of Tontalete Village with an area of 40 m x 40 m. The variables observed in this study include: water discharge, pump rotation (rpm), uniformity coef icient (CU), jet distance, and pump fuel use. The results of this study indicate that the provision of irrigation water sprinkler using a sprinkler Big Gun 1.25 inch and MGP pump 50 HD, with a round of sprinkler 3 times round the that produces a time for 12 minutes, the sprinkler can remove as much water as 77.46 l / min and irrigate the land area of 1,017 m2 with an average speed of rotation pump 2,008 rpm and spent as much as 280 ml of pump fuel/12 minutes. The farthest distance thewater sprinkler emits is 18 m. Keywords: performance test, irrigation, sprinkler, radiance, water discharge
