Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a condition in which a child has an unbalanced height ratio for his age, due to lack of nutrition so that the child's growth is stunted. One of the causes of stunting in toddlers is the lack of parental knowledge about stunting. This community service activity is carried out by empowering the community regarding stunting. It is hoped that after this program, the community and parents will know about stunting control and pay more attention to the growth of babies and toddlers. Objective: This community service activity is carried out by empowering the community regarding stunting which is expected after this program is carried out, the community and parent know about stunting control and pay more attention to the growth of infants and toodlers. Method: This activity was carried out by providing counseling through 3 stages, namely interviews, providing education about stunting, evaluation.   Result: of the 48 respondents before the counseling who knew about stunting only 20 people (41.6%) after the counseling, the knowledge of parents increased to 40 people (83.3%). Parents are able to apply and understand how to provide good nutrition and pay attention to hygiene in infants and toddlers. Conclusion: this service activity has succeeded in increasing parents' knowledge about stunting so that they play a major role as the main guide for the growth and development of babies and toddlers by paying more attention to nutritional needs and child development.

Abstract

Abstract Menopause is the permanent cessation of menstruation due to the loss of ovarian activity. Symptoms that appear are sleep disturbances, the emergence of psychological signs in the form of memory loss, emotional changes and depression. The influencing factor is knowledge. The most effective increase in knowledge is through counseling conducted to health cadres, where the level of knowledge of cadres about menopause will help mothers prepare for menopause well. Objective: To increase the knowledge of cadres through health and reproductive education regarding menopause. Methods: (i) Identification of targeted cadres (ii) Socialization, and (iii) Evaluation. Results: obtained from the extension of Cadre Knowledge Improvement through Reproductive Health Counseling Regarding Menopuse, attended by 9 cadres representing Benteng Village, with the result that there was a significant increase of 100% good knowledge. Conclusion: An increase in the knowledge of cadres about menopause will help women who experience menopause to be more prepared to undergo menopause in a healthy manner. Abstract

Background: Menopausal women experience physiological and psychological changes. The effects of these symptoms are headaches, hair loss, muscle pain, vaginal dryness, insomnia, weight gain, anxiety, irritability, difficulty concentrating, nervousness, feeling worthless, stress, and even depression. Objective: to determine the level of anxiety about menopause in Benteng Ciamis Village. Methods: The study used a descriptive method by filling out a questionnaire. Results: It was found that of the 30 respondents in the category of severe anxiety, 23 respondents (76.7%). Economic factors, knowledge and lack of recreation are the biggest contributing factors to anxiety in mothers facing menopause. Suggestion: support is needed, especially from the husband so that the anxiety experienced by the mother can be overcome. Keywords: Anxiety level, Menopausal women

Abstract

Background: Mental retardation is a disorder characterized by limitations in intellectual aspects and adaptive behavior. Proper parenting of mentally retarded children will affect children's development, especially social development. The most important factor is the mother who is applied to the parenting pattern. Objective: To determine the relationship between maternal parenting and the social development of mentally retarded children. Method: The method is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. Data collection using a questionnaire, with 30 respondents. Results: from 30 respondents, the highest frequency was in the authoritarian category as many as 18 respondents (60.0%), while the development of children with mental retardation had the highest frequency in the less social development category as many as 19 people (63.3%). Conclusion: there is a significant relationship between maternal parenting and the social development of mentally retarded children with value (0.000). Abstract

Picky eater is a difficult eating behavior in children by refusing to eat (neophobia), consuming a limited variety of food types, refusing foods that are not liked, and only eating foods they like. Picky eaters in preschool children who last long and continuously have a negative impact on the fulfillment of nutrition and nutrition in children. Maternal parenting is one of the external factors that influence the incidence of picky eaters. Objective: To determine the relationship between maternal parenting and the incidence of picky eaters in pre-school children at Tunas Harapan Kindergarten, Winduraja Village. Methods: The research method is quantitative with cross sectional research design. The sampling technique is total sampling, namely all mothers who have 34 pre-school children. The research instrument was a questionnaire sheet. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis with chi square statistical test. Research results: The highest frequency of maternal parenting is the permissive category as many as 17 people (50.0%). The incidence of picky eaters in preschool children, the highest frequency is experiencing picky eaters as many as 20 people (58.8%). Static test results with chi square test obtained a value of р = 0.000 < α = 0.05 (5%). Conclusion: There is a relationship between maternal parenting and the incidence of picky eaters in preschool children at Tunas Harapan Kindergarten, Winduraja Village with a statistical test p value < α. It is expected that parents, especially mothers, can understand and apply the correct and appropriate parenting, for example, providing a variety of foods so that children do not get bored quickly and have a good appetite.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Stunting adalah keadaan dimana tinggi badan berdasarkan umur rendah, atau keadaan dimana tubuh anak lebih pendek dibandingkan dengan anak lain seusianya. Pada jangka panjang stunting  menyebabkan gangguan perkembangan motorik dan kognitif, fungsi-fungsi tubuh tidak seimbang, postur tubuh tidak maksimal saat dewasa dan saat tua beresiko terkena penyakit berhubungan dengan pola makan. Salah satu pencegahan stunting adalah dengan peningkatan pengetahuan pada kader. Tujuan : tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah peningkatan kognitif pada kader sebagai upaya pencegahan stunting di Desa Linggasari. Metode :  (i) Identifikasi tingkat pengetahuan kader tentang stunting (ii) Sosialisasi melalui penkes dan leaflet, dan (iii) Evaluasi. Hasil : Jumlah kader yang mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat sebanyak 25 orang. Dari evaluasi kegiatan diperoleh kader telah memahami tentang pencegahan stunting dibuktikan dengan peningkatan pengetahuan. Kesimpulan : Pengabdian masyarakat terkait peningkatan kognitif di Linggarsari dihadiri oleh 25 kader dengan hasil terdapat peningkatan kognitif terkait pencegahan stunting

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between mothers' knowledge about nutrition and weight gain of stunting children in the Lumbung Public Health Center, Ciamis Regency. Methods: The quantitative research method uses a correlational analytic design with a retrospective approach. The population in this study were all mothers who had to stunt children under five in the Lumbung Health Center working area of as many as 65 research samples. The data collection method used a questionnaire, with chi-square data analysis. Results: The results showed that 33 children experienced weight gain with the criteria of good maternal knowledge, with a statistical test p-value of 0.000 <0.05. Conclusion: There is a Relationship between Mother's Knowledge about Nutrition Giving and Wight Loss for Stunting Children in the Lumbung Health Center Work Area.

Abstract

Introduction: Menopause is the permanent cessation of menstruation. Menopause is a normal life event, not a disease. This period is characterised by the cessation of menstruation as estrogen is not produced. This condition is a very ageing process in every woman. Women experiencing menopause need support from close people such as husbands, friends, and family. The readiness of mothers in facing menopause is influenced by several factors, such as education level, knowledge about menopause, socioeconomic factors that affect the body and health. Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge and mothers' readiness to face menopause at Posyandu Sukasari Dahlia 2, Ciamis District. Method: This research is a study that uses quantitative methods, which wants to prove whether or not there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and the readiness of mothers in facing menopause at Posyandu Sukasari Dahlia 2, Ciamis District. The research was conducted in July 2023. This study included quantitative research using a cross-sectional analytic design. The population in this study were all mothers in Posyandu Sukasari Dahlia 2 Ciamis District. The population in this study amounted to 45 respondents, with total sampling technique. Result: The results showed that 40 respondents (88.9%) had sufficient knowledge, and the readiness of mothers to face menopause was 37 people (82.2%). Conclusion: Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded; the level of knowledge in the category is sufficient with a total of 40 respondents. Mother's readiness in facing menopause is categorised as ready, namely 37 respondents. There is no relationship between mother’s readiness in facing menopause at Posyandu Sukasari Dahlia 2 Ciamis District with a p value = 0.083 (p <0.05).

Abstract

Background: Corona virus disease has become a global pandemic. Coronavirus is a new name given by the World Health Organization to patients infected with the virus. Impact of the very fast spread of the COVID-19 virus, so the government implemented an online learning policy in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 transmission to school residents in particular and to the community. Objective: This study aims to determine the level of parental anxiety in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The rapid spread causes infected patients to self-isolate to break the chain of the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Method: The design used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method. The researcher intends to find out factually about the level of anxiety of parents towards online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The population taken from the results of proportional sampling is 52 people, with the results of sampling the parents of students at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTS) level. The results of the study: The results of the description of the level of parental anxiety in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic showed that 20 respondents had severe anxiety levels, as many as 20 people (37.7%) with their parents. Conclusion: The results of the study showed that the majority of parents experienced severe anxiety.

Abstract

Introduction: Having a child with special needs can be challenging for parents, especially mothers. Maternal stress can have a negative impact on the quality of life of children with special needs. Mothers with high stress tend to be authoritarian, abusive and interact negatively. High levels of stress can affect mothers' mental and physical health, so efforts need to be made to reduce these stress levels. Objective: The purpose of this activity is to prevent and reduce stress levels in mothers of children with special needs. Methods: This community service activity was carried out on 25 August 2023, located at SLB Negeri Ciamis, with 25 mothers who have children with special needs as respondents.  Methods in this counselling with 1) Identification of mothers who have children with special needs 2) Counselling 3) Evaluation and demonstration. Results: Based on the evaluation results in counselling activities regarding stress prevention in mothers who have children with special needs, it is found that mothers have understood the material provided by evaluating being able to answer the questions given and can demonstrate benson therapy independently.  Conclusion: Respondents are enthusiastic and understand the material provided, where respondents are able to answer questions given and are able to demonstrate benson therapy independently.
