Abstract

Rising global economic uncertainty in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the importance of household financial well-being (FWB) as a key pillar of economic resilience, particularly in urban settings. This study analyzes how digital payment adoption, saving behavior, and access to credit contribute to the stratification of FWB among urban households in Indonesia. The analysis uses microdata from the 2017 Survey on Financial Inclusion and Access (SOFIA), focusing on a sub-sample of 2,368 urban households aged 19–40 years across four provinces. FWB is constructed as an ordered categorical variable with four levels Low, Medium, High, and Very High based on multiple indicators of financial capability and access. A multinomial logit model is employed, with results interpreted using Average Marginal Effects (AMEs). The findings indicate that regular saving behavior and access to formal credit are the most consistent determinants of upward mobility across FWB categories. Regular saving significantly reduces the likelihood of being in the Low and Medium FWB categories and substantially increases the probability of attaining High FWB. Access to credit strongly increases the likelihood of reaching the Very High FWB category. The results suggest that financial inclusion in urban contexts should be understood as a combination of disciplined financial behavior and deeper engagement with formal financial services

Abstract

Islamic banking is one of the icons or representations of Islamic Financial Institutions in Indonesia. Problems around Islamic finance are still a hot topic of discussion. Public participation in the use of financial services is an essential issue on the policy agenda of some developing countries that have underdeveloped banking and commercial systems and often only want to serve high-income customers or large companies, because uneven distribution of financial services will hamper the growth and development of a number of small businesses and poor families. Head of the Sharia Banking Department Ahmad Soekro Tratmono explained that the empirical evidence of the stigma was manifested by the fixed position of the market share of Islamic banking in Indonesia, which from 1992 until now did not exceed the 5 percent limit. Efforts to increase market share in Islamic financial institutions by using information technology. ADIBA MSME is a technology application that aims to map the distribution of the closest LKS institutions that can be accessed by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) entrepreneurs. The existence of ADIBA MSME is expected to be a surefire solution in creating connectivity (Link and Match) between business actors and LKS so that the mobilization of LKS funds becomes more productive, effective, and efficient. With the use of ADIBA MSME technology, it can become an accelerator of regional economic growth through the utilization of Islamic financial literacy so that the use of ADIBA MSME can increase the market share of Islamic financial institutions.

Abstract

The village information system has experienced significant growth, but research focusing on user adoption behavior in the Kalurahan Murtigading government area remains limited. Additionally, most studies use a single theoretical framework to explore this behavior. Addressing this gap, this study applies the UTAUT-2 framework to analyze the key factors influencing behavioral intention to use the village information system among the Kalurahan Murtigading government, with the addition of perceived security and epistemic value as other influencing factors. The study employs a survey approach with a cross-sectional design, and the proposed conceptual model was tested using partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis on 38 samples, with no issues of non-response bias (NRB) and common method bias (CMB). The results indicate that the UTAUT-2 constructs, along with the additional factors, significantly influence behavioral intention, with social influence, effort expectancy, and epistemic value being the top three factors affecting behavioral intention. These findings can also assist stakeholders in developing effective strategies to encourage more individuals, especially in the Kalurahan Murtigading government area, to adopt the village information system.
