Abstract

The green mussel (Perna viridis) is an important commodity in marine aquaculture. A challenge in green mussel cultivation is the presence of diseases caused by parasites that attach or live on the mussels. This research aims to determine the abundance of ectoparasites and competitors on green mussels in the mentioned waters. The research methods employed both qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches. The observed research variables included species identification, prevalence and intensity of ectoparasites, as well as diversity and abundance of competitors. The findings revealed the presence of 2 ectoparasite species and 10 competitor species. The highest prevalence of Balanus sp. was recorded in Bagan Tancap I for mussels larger than 4 cm, at 79.6%±6.16 (moderate), while the lowest prevalence was in Bagan Tancap II for mussels smaller than 4 cm, at 33.3%±1.05 (common). The highest intensity of Balanus sp. ectoparasite attacks occurred in Bagan Tancap I for mussels larger than 4 cm, at 7.18 ind/mussel (moderate), and the lowest intensity was in Bagan Tancap II for mussels smaller than 4 cm, at 1.75 ind/mussel (low). The intensity of sea snail egg infestations ranged from 1 to 2 ind/mussel, with no significant difference (P>0.05). The highest competitor abundance was found in Bagan Tancap I with the species Nereis sp., at 0.57 ind/mussel, and the highest competitor diversity was also observed in Bagan Tancap I with the species crab at 36.292 ind/mussel. Considering the prevalence and intensity values of Balanus sp. ectoparasites on green mussels in the waters of the Java Sea in Kecamatan Sidayu, it is still suitable for green mussel cultivation.

Abstract

Vannamei shrimp cultivation in Indonesia is currently the mainstay of the aquaculture sector and is a priority for aquaculture development in Indonesia to improve the national economy. Pond management in general in Indonesia, especially in Java, still needs better management planning. This can be seen from the many abandoned ponds due to crop failure. Even abandoned ponds on the island of Java reached 70%. This study used a quantitative method by collecting interview data and studying literature. Variables in this study include aquaculture (HR), technology, economic motives. The instrument used in this study was in the form of an interview sheet. and West Java p(T<=t) 0.2. Area of harvested land from Central Java and West Java Provinces with p=0.04 (<0.05). Yields from the provinces of East Java and Central Java with p=0.02 (<0.05). Area of harvested land from East Java and Central Java with p=0.04 (<0.05). Getting to the conclusion that there is a relationship between the area of harvested land and yields in the Provinces of East Java and West Java.

Abstract

Santri are known to have independent, simple characters, do not give up easily and are willing to take risks. It is the character of the santri that becomes the capital of an entrepreneurial spirit. The main problem that arises today is the mentality of the entrepreneurial spirit of students. There are still many Islamic boarding schools that do not yet have an entrepreneurship program. In practice, many Islamic boarding schools develop spontaneous entrepreneurial activities. Pondok Al kayyis is a student hostel where all the students are students of Trunojoyo University, Madura. This boarding school consists of Pondok Putri and Pondok Pesantren with a total number of students of approximately 80 students. Budikdamber is an alternative to catfish cultivation that has just been recognized by the students, and this turned out to be very attractive to the students because the ingredients are simple and easy to obtain. Apart from that, budikdamber does not require external land to do so and provides great potential that promises to be used as a business or business. The low cost and fast harvest are the main attraction for the students to try it. The students who have backgrounds in various majors also begin to understand that entrepreneurship does not only require technical skills but also has good leadership skills in entrepreneurship to be successful. Self-confidence, high motivation, always innovative/creative, communicative, solutive and focused are the leadership qualities that must be possessed by successful entrepreneurs.

Abstract

Cultivating vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) in intensive ponds is one of the efforts to meet the high market demand. This research aims to analyze the weight growth and daily weight growth rate of intensively cultured vannamei shrimp. The study was conducted in two groups of PT-owned intensive shrimp ponds.STP with different stocking densities. The research was carried out for three months, from September to November 2023. The variables of this study included Average Body Weight (ABW), Average Daily Growth (ADG), and Specific Growth Rate (SGR) of cultured shrimp. The research data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2023 and further analyzed using a t-test with a significance level 0.05. The results of this study showed that shrimp ponds in group II performed better, with an average shrimp weight of 4.26±0.10 gram, a daily growth rate of 0.147gram/day, and a specific growth rate of 14.73%±1% bw/day. These values were higher than shrimp cultured in group I ponds, which had an average shrimp weight of 4.14±0.25 gram, a daily growth rate of 0.148 gram/day, and a specific growth rate of 14.8%±2% bw/day.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the formulation of probiotic feed fermented with rice washing water with different fermentation times to produce the highest growth of Daphnia magna. The research included experimental research using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments and repeated three times to obtain nine experimental units. Each container is filled with 2 liters of water with a Daphnia density of 20 ind/l. Treatment A: giving probiotics and rice washing water without fermentation; treatment B: giving probiotics and rice washing water with a fermentation time of 6 hours; treatment C: giving probiotics and rice washing water with a fermentation time of 12 hours. Based on research conducted for 12 days, the results showed that the fermentation time of probiotics and rice washing water affected the population density of Daphnia magna. Treatment C: Giving probiotics and rice washing water with a fermentation time of 12 hours is the best treatment compared to other treatments.

Abstract

Lempuk fish is a native Indonesian fish that is endemic in the Ranu Grati tectonic lake, Pasuruan Regency, East Java. This research aims to provide information in efforts to domesticate lempuk fish, especially on reproductive aspects related to the microscopic characteristics of gonads and reproductive type of Lempuk fish (Gobiopterus sp). This research uses the primary sexual characteristics method with gonadal histology. The variables observed included the male to female sex ratio, the histological structure of male and female gonads, and the reproductive type of lempuk fish. All data was analyzed descriptively, qualitatively and quantitatively by comparing with related literature. The samples taken in this research were 39 Lempuk Fish (Gobiopterus sp). The samples were then preserved in 10% formalin. The number of samples for histological analysis was 20 individuals, while for morphometric and meristic analysis there were 8 individuals. The results of the research show that morphologically the lempuk fish has a transparent body shape and there is a central line on the body with black or brown pigment and has a total length of around 2-3 cm. Lempuk fish have a type of reproduction that develops asynchronously (asynchronous) because the development of oocytes in the ovaries of female fish shows a variety of developmental stages, namely the initial growth stage (nuclear and perinuclear chromatin), cortical alveolar, vitellogenesis, and the mature stage. The sex ratio is predominantly female with a ratio of 0.64: 0.36. The histological structure of male and female gonads has histological differences that reflect different reproductive functions, where the ovaries play a role in egg cell production, while the testes are responsible for sperm formation. An imbalance in the sex ratio indicates the importance of carrying out domestication steps in order to prevent extinction or continuous population decline.

Abstract

Kepanjen Aquaculture Installation (IPB) is one of the fish growers located in Kepanjan, Malang district. This research focuses on the management of cook fish filling techniques with the aim of ensuring that the filling technique carried out by the community can be done well and get quality seed yields. This study took samples from the Plant for Cultivated Fisheries (IPB) that were carried out for 40 days using samples of 5 different types of cooked fish. This method of research uses an explorative descriptive approach, namely by describing a result in research, but the result of research is not used as a general conclusion. There are several measurement indicators performed in the filling technique: 80% Hatching rate (HR), Survival Rate (SR) 89,01%, Daily Growth Rate Calculation (SGR) with a value of 0.012133 grams/day, Fekundity of 785 grains, Absolute Weight and Absolute Length measurements, Food Supply Management and Water Quality Management. It is driven by the level of water quality, temperature as well as excellent pool management installation. As well as the pesticide and disease treatment techniques that are performed are very helpful at the time of the rejuvenation process.

Abstract

Ikan koki oranda kropyokan bernilai penting bagi agribisnis perikanan ikan hias koki, namun sejauh pengetahuan penulis hingga saat ini informasi ilmiah mengenai ikan koki jenis oranda kropyokan sangat minim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik ikan koki oranda kropyokan dan menganalisis biometrik ikan koki oranda kropyokan dari tiga pembudidaya berbeda di Tulungagung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif untuk menggambarkan ikan kropyokan sebagai objek kajian riset dan tiga pembudidaya, pada setiap pembudidaya ikan diambil 20 ekor sampel ikan. Penentuan ikan sampel secara  acak. Data yang dikumpulkan sifat morfometrik dan meristik (Habbeb, 2022), faktor kondisi, dan distribusi frekuensi panjang. Hasil penelitian analisis biometrik didapatkan standar baku ikan koki oranda kropyokan dari sifat morfometrik antara lain standard length, body width, body depth, head length, head depth, eye orbital diameter, prepectoral fin length, prepelvic fin length. Untuk sifat meristik berdasarkan Scale of lateral line, Dorsal fin branched rays, Pectoral fin branched rays, Pelvic fin branched rays. Nilai faktor kondisi di bawah nilai 3, dikatakan bahwa pertumbuhan panjang lebih dominan daripada pertumbuhan berat. Sedangkan diketahui bahwa di level pembudidaya ikan koki oranda kropyokan umumnya menjual hasil ikannya pada ukuran panjang ± 45mm. Hasil dari morfometrik terhadap SL menunjukan ikan koki oranda kropyokan tidak berbeda nyata dari ikan koki oranda standard terdahulu
