Abstract

Abstrak Ilmu kimia erat kaitannya dengan isu-isu yang ada dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Ilmu kimia dapat menjadi sarana dalam menyukseskan Sustainable Development Goals  (SDGs) dan membantu siswa untuk meningkatkan jiwa kewirusahaan melalui materi kimia hijau. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah diperlukan pengembangan buku pengayaan berbasis chemo-entrepreneurship pada materi kimia hijau untuk siswa SMA fase e terintegrasi sustainable development issue. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini yaitu 7 guru dari empat sekolah yang berbeda di Yogyakarta dan telah mengetahui atau mengajarkan materi kimia hijau. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian survey eksploratif dengan pengkodean interpretatif. Hasil dari penelitian yang dilakukan menyatakan bahwa perlu dilakukan pengembangan buku pengayaan berbasis chemo-entrepreneurship pada materi kimia hijau untuk siswa SMA fase e terintegrasi sustainable development issue. Abstract Chemistry is closely related to issues that exist in everyday life. Chemistry can be a means of making the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) a success and help students to improve their entrepreneurial spirit through green chemistry material. This research was conducted to find out whether it is necessary to develop a chemo-entrepreneurship based enrichment book on green chemistry material for high school students in phase e with an integrated sustainable development issue. Participants in this research were 7 teachers from four different schools in Yogyakarta who knew or taught green chemistry material. This research uses an exploratory survey research method with interpretive coding. The results of the research conducted state that it is necessary to develop a chemo-entrepreneurship based enrichment book on green chemistry material for high school students in phase e with an integrated sustainable development issue.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk sintesis senyawa 2,5-bis((E)-3,4 dimetoksibenziliden)siklopentan-1-on dengan variasi mol katalis NaOH serta mengetahui rendemen senyawa (2E,5E)-2,5-bis(3,4-dimetoksibenziliden) siklopentanon yang telah disintesis. Sintesis dilakukan dengan mereaksikan siklopentanon sebanyak 5 mmol dan veratraldehida sebanyak 10 mmol menggunakan katalis NaOH dengan variasi 5, 10, 15, dan 20 mmol dan pelarut etanol. Proses sintesis berjalan melalui reaksi kondensasi Claisen-Schmidt menggunakan metode microwave assisted organic synthesis selama 60 detik. Hasil sintesis yang diperoleh kemudian dilakukan karakterisasi melalui KLT dan KLT scanner, FTIR, dan 1H-NMR. Hasil penelitian diperoleh senyawa berbentuk serbuk kuning dan hasil karakterisasi menunjukkan bahwa senyawa tersebut merupakan senyawa target (2 E,5E)-2,5-bis(3,4-dimetksibenziliden) siklopentanon. Rendemen senyawa (2E,5E)-2,5-bis(3,4-dimetoksibenziliden) siklopentanon yang dihasilkan oleh variasi mol katalis NaOH 5, 10, 15, dan 20 mmol secara berturut-turut yaitu 71,75%; 60,44%; 118,42%; dan 113,54%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa katalis NaOH berpengaruh terhadap rendemen hasil sintesis.Kata Kunci: 2,5-bis((E)-3,4-dimetoksibenziliden)siklopentan-1-on, kondensasi Claisen- schmidt, metode MAOSOptimization of Sodium Hydroxide catalyst concentration in the synthesis of 2,5-bis((E)-3,4-dimethoxybenzylidene)cyclopentan-1-one Abstract: This study aimed to synthesize the compound 2,5-bis((E)-3,4-dimethoxybenzylidene) cyclopentan-1-one with varying molar quantities of NaOH catalyst and to determine the yield of the synthesized (2E,5E)-2,5-bis(3,4-dimethoxybenzylidene) cyclopentanone. The synthesis was carried out by reacting 5 mmol of cyclopentanone and 10 mmol of veratraldehyde using NaOH catalyst in amounts of 5, 10, 15, and 20 mmol, with ethanol as the solvent. The synthesis process involved Claisen-Schmidt condensation via microwave-assisted organic synthesis for 60 seconds. The synthesized products were characterized using TLC and TLC scanner, FTIR, and ^1H-NMR. The results revealed that the synthesized compound was a yellow powder, and the characterization confi rmed it as the target compound, (2E,5E)-2,5-bis(3,4-dimethoxybenzylidene) cyclopentanone. The yields of (2E,5E)-2,5-bis(3,4-dimethoxybenzylidene) cyclopentanone obtained with NaOH catalyst amounts of 5, 10, 15, and 20 mmol were 71.75%, 60.44%, 118.42%, and 113.54%, respectively. These fi ndings indicate that the amount of NaOH catalyst signifi cantly aff ects the yield of the synthesis. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to synthesis methyl citronellate through Fischer esterification reaction between methanol and citronellic acid from oxidation product of citronellal and characterize the methyl citronellate of esterification product by TLC method, IR spectroscopy, and GC-MS. This research was started by oxidizing citronellal to citronellic acid using silver oxide (Ag2O) oxidator obtained from reaction between silver nitrate (AgNO3) with sodium hydoxide (NaOH) and oxidation reaction at temperature of 55-60oC for 35 minutes. Then, the oxidation product of citronellal was reacted with methanol through Fischer esterification reaction using concentrated sulfuric acid (H2SO4) catalyst at 46oC for 2 hours. The products of citronellal oxidation and esterification were identified using TLC, IR spectrophotometer, and GC-MS. The result of this research showed that the Fischer esterification reaction between methanol with citronellic acid from oxidation product of citronellal was produce methyl citronellate in the form of brownish yellow liquid and smelled fragrant. The result of methyl citronellate from esterification product characterization by using TLC method, IR spectroscopy, and GC-MS showed that the methyl citronellate has a purity of 17 % and a yield of 13.76 %.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dalam bidang pendidikan kimia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan buku pedoman guru yang berisikan eksperimen kimia di kehidupan sehari-hari dan mengetahui kelayakan media pembelajaran berdasarkan penilaian 5 guru SMA. Dalam pengembangan buku eksperimen kimia peneliti menggunakan metode ADDIE yang terdiri dari 4 tahap, yaitu analisis, perencanaan, pengembangan dan implementasi. Buku eksperimen kimia yang telah dibuat kemudian divalidasi oleh dosen pembimbing, ahli media, ahli materi dan pembelajaran kimia. Kemudian produk dinilai oleh 5 guru kimia SMA sebagai reviewerKualitas buku eksperimen kimia dapat diketahui melalui penilaian lima guru kimia SMA yang ditinjau dari aspek isi, aspek kebahasaan, aspek penyajian, efek media terhadap strategi pembelajaran dan tampilan. Buku eksperimen kimia yang dikembangkan mendapat skor rata-rata 4,14 dari skor maksimal ideal 5 dengan kategori baik (B).
