Abstract

A researched has been done about optimation of chitosan – guar gum crosslinked with sodium tripolyphosphate as coating agents nanocapsule aspirin. The researched purposed to get the best coating aspirin adsorption is based from observation of morpology and effisiency encapsulation.Nanocapsule formulations made with ionic gelation methods, using variation concentration of chitosan (1,5%, 1,75%, 2%), guar gum (0,75%, 0,55%, 0,35%), with fixed concentration of sodium tripolyphosphate (5%). Nanocapsules aspirin was measured using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 287 nm. Observation of the shape and size of the particles was performed using SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope). Encapsulation Effisiency obtained from formula A, B, and C of 28%, 52,6%, and 31,2%. Formula with chitosan concentration 1,75%, 0,55% guar gum, and 5% sodium tripolyphosphate (Formula B) has the best characteristics of the encapsulation effisiencyof 52,6%, the not sferis shape of the particles and more uniform thet the smallest particles size was 400 nm and the largest particle size was 2400 nm.

Abstract

Sea grapes or Caulerpa racemosa contain alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, phenols and steroids. These compositions work as antioxidants. Antioxidants are compounds that can contribute one or more electrons to free radicals, so that the free radicals can be suppressed. The goal of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of sea grape (Caulerpa racemosa) extract using the FRAP method. Extraction of sea grapes (Caulerpa racemosa) applied maceration and methanol methods. Absorbance of antioxidant activity was measured using a UV-VIS spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 700 nm. The results showed that sea grape extract (Caulerpa racemosa) had an antioxidant activity of 152 mg AAE/g extract. It means that in each gram of extract, it is equivalent to 152 mg of ascorbic acid.

Abstract

Hyperglycemia is characterized by an increase in blood glucose levels exceeding 200 mg/dL, an initial symptom of diabetes mellitus. Hyperglycemia can be addressed through traditional treatment with Red Betel Leaf. Red betel leaf contains phytochemical compounds, including flavonoids. Flavonoid compounds in red betel leaves possess antioxidant properties. These antioxidants can scavenge hydroxyl radicals that damage the β cells of the pancreas, thereby maximizing insulin production. Empirically, the flavonoid content in red betel leaves has been shown to lower blood glucose levels and cure diabetes mellitus. An effectiveness test of the anti-hyperglycemic properties of the ethanol extract fraction of red betel leaf was conducted. This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of the ethanol extract fraction of red betel leaf on male white rats. The method employed in this study was laboratory experimentation. Fifteen rats were divided into five treatment groups: Group I, healthy control without treatment; Group II, negative control with Na.CMC administration; Group III, positive control with glibenclamide administration; Group IV, the polar group with polar extract suspension of red betel leaf administration; Group V, the nonpolar group with nonpolar extract suspension of red betel leaf administration. In conclusion, administering the polar fraction was more effective in reducing blood glucose levels than the nonpolar fraction.

Abstract

Jamu merupakan sediaan obat alami yang terbuat dari simplisia yang telah terbukti aman dan berkhasiat. Jamu pegal linu merupakan produk obat tradisional yang dipercaya dapat meredakan nyeri otot dan tulang, kelelahan, memperbaiki peredaran darah, meningkatkan sistem kekebalan tubuh, dan meredakan ketidaknyamanan tubuh secara keseluruhan oleh masyarakat. Ibuprofen merupakan obat golongan Anti inflamasi Non Steroid (AINS) yang memiliki efek samping berupa penyakit gastrointestinal terutama jika digunakan dengan dosis tinggi atau dikonsumsi dalam jangka panjang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kandungan ibuprofen pada sediaan jamu yang beredar di Kecamatan Manggala Kota Makassar dengan menggunakan metode Kromatografi Lapis Tipis (KLT) dan Spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Analisis kualitatif ibuprofen dilakukan dengan metode Kromatografi Lapis Tipis (KLT) yang menghasilkan noda bercak terang apapila diamati dibawah lampu UV366 nm dan dengan metode Spektrofotometri UV-Vis yang sama atau hampir sama dengan baku pembanding yaitu 220,25 nm. Penetapan kadar dilakukang dengan metode spektrofotometri UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 220,25 nm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 3 sampel yang positif mengandung ibuprofen yaitu sampel C, D dan G. Kadar ibuprofen dalam sampel C sebesar 1,78888889%, sampel D 4,99298246% dan sampel G sebesar sebesar 2,22807018%.

Abstract

Dalam aktivitas sehari-hari banyak kegiatan yang dilakukan diluar ruangan yang cenderung sering terkena paparan sinar matahari. Kulit yang sering terkena paparan sinar matahari dalam waktu yang lama, dapat memberikan dampak buruk. Penggunaan tabir surya dapat mencegah pengaruh buruk sinar matahari. Efektivitas sediaan tabir surya ditunjukkan dengan nilai Sun Protection Factor (SPF). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ekstrak etanol daun Belimbing Wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) dapat diformulasikan sebagai sediaan krim yang stabil secara fisika dan kimia serta untuk mengetahui nilai SPF sediaan krim ekstrak etanol daun Belimbing Wuluh menggunakan metode Spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental, dengan rancangan formula krim tiga konsentrasi, Formula I dengan konsentrasi 1%, Formula II konsentrasi 3% dan Formula III konsentrasi 5% ekstrak etanol daun Belimbing Wuluh. Pengujian stabilitas sediaan krim secara fisika dan kimia meliputi uji organoleptik, uji homogenitas, uji daya sebar, uji viskositas, uji pH dan Uji tipe krim. Pengujian Sun Protection Factor (SPF) dengan konsentrasi 600 ppm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun Belimbing Wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) dapat dibuat dalam sediaan krim yang stabil secara fisika dan kimia. Nilai SPF dari krim ekstrak etanol daun Belimbing Wuluh yaitu FI 8,3 (Proteksi Maksimal), FII 9,5 (Proteksi Maksimal) dan FIII 12,6 (Proteksi Maksimal).
