Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa di SDN 200301 Padang Sidimpuan. Analisis awal menunjukkan bahwa 85% guru memiliki pemahaman yang terbatas tentang pendekatan STEM, khususnya dalam mengintegrasikan elemen sains, teknologi, rekayasa, dan matematika dalam pembelajaran. Program ini menerapkan metode ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) yang dimodifikasi sesuai konteks sekolah dasar, dengan pendekatan pelatihan interaktif dan umpan balik aktif. Implementasi program meliputi serangkaian lokakarya intensif, praktik langsung pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran, dan pendampingan berkelanjutan. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kompetensi guru, yang ditunjukkan dengan kenaikan skor dari 62,5% pada pre-test menjadi 89,3% pada post-test. Validasi perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan mencapai tingkat kevalidan 93% dengan skor rata-rata 4,5 dari 5,0. Observasi implementasi di kelas menunjukkan peningkatan keterlibatan siswa dan kemampuan berpikir kritis melalui penggunaan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis STEM. Program ini berhasil menciptakan dampak transformatif pada praktik pembelajaran di SDN 200301 Padang Sidimpuan, memberikan landasan untuk pengembangan model pembelajaran STEM yang dapat diadaptasi secara lebih luas dalam konteks pendidikan dasar di Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe a desire and also the purpose of using identity and symbols from Malay ethnicity and culture in the North Sumatra region. The results of research in the field will be analyzed using theory based on social action with research methods that use qualitative as well as quantitative case studies in North Sumatra. Data collection using detailed interview methods and also observations from respondents in North Sumatra. The data analysis used in this research method reveals various symbols of Malay culture in North Sumatra which have messages to convey to the wider community regarding traditions, culture and local wisdom in North Sumatra. Symbols are media that can be used to reinforce a status that has a relationship with power and also the human and natural resources in North Sumatra. The symbol of Malay identity in North Sumatra in the post-reformation era became one of the actions taken by Malay people as a form of existence for the Malay community to show their concern for local cultures in North Sumatra. This action is one of the motives of the Malay ethnicity in North Sumatra to change the potential for relations between ethnic groups in North Sumatra in order to maintain local wisdom and also hold the strategic side in North Sumatra. So that it can increase the value of Malay culture in North Sumatra.

Abstract

This research aims (1) To find out the development of students' ability to write narrative texts (2) To find out the dominant type of theme in student writing (3) To find out the factors that influence students' ability to write narrative text. This research is quantitative and qualitative in nature and was conducted in February 2023 to students of class. In this research, samples were taken by means of cluster random sampling of 33 students. Data were collected through tests in the form of narrative texts written by students using themes and rhemes according to the assessment aspect rubric and through pretest and posttest. The pre-test was given to determine students' ability in writing skills before being given treatment, while the post-test was given to determine students' abilities in writing skills after being given treatment. Then the collected data will be presented in the form of descriptions and diagrams. The results showed that the average pretest score was lower than the posttest average score (60.24<81.88). That is, the set of themes and rhymes can develop students' writing skills significantly. From the results of the qualitative description, the type of theme that is most widely used is the type of topical theme with a percentage (84.84%). This was also shown by the questionnaire data before treatment was lower than after receiving treatment with (65.82 <68.48). This study concluded that the theme and rheme sets can develop students' writing skills

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran Sejarah siswa melalui edukasi sejarah lokal yang terintegrasi dengan nilai-nilai Pancasila. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Batang Onang, Kabupaten Padang Lawas Utara, Provinsi Sumatera Utara, dengan melibatkan siswa kelas XI. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi adalah rendahnya minat siswa terhadap sejarah lokal serta kurangnya pemaknaan terhadap nilai-nilai Pancasila dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi koordinasi dengan pihak sekolah, penyusunan materi sejarah lokal Tapanuli Selatan, pelaksanaan pembelajaran interaktif di kelas, penugasan proyek mini dalam bentuk narasi sejarah lokal, serta evaluasi melalui kuesioner persepsi siswa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa siswa menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dalam mengikuti pembelajaran dan tugas proyek, serta mampu mengaitkan nilai-nilai Pancasila dengan konteks sejarah dan budaya daerah mereka. Sebanyak 91% siswa menyatakan bahwa materi yang diberikan menarik dan relevan, 87% merasa lebih memahami makna Pancasila secara kontekstual, dan 89% menyatakan kegiatan ini membantu mereka mengenal sejarah lokal yang sebelumnya belum diketahui. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan edukasi berbasis sejarah lokal dan nilai Pancasila efektif dalam menumbuhkan kesadaran sejarah dan memperkuat karakter kebangsaan siswa. Program ini direkomendasikan untuk diintegrasikan secara berkelanjutan dalam pembelajaran Sejarah dan PPKn di sekolah.

Abstract

Poda Na Lima as a local wisdom value of the Angkola-Mandailing community is considered strategic for developing education in the Tabagsel region (Southern Tapanuli). The Poda Na Lima tradition is considered to be one of the influences on creative education in social studies learning in the Merdeka Belajar era. Social studies subjects aim to produce citizens who are religious, honest, democratic, creative, critical, enjoy reading, have the ability to learn, are curious, care about the social and physical environment, contribute to the development of social and cultural life, and communicate productively. It is hoped that through the strategic role of Poda Na Lima, it can create an educational generation with strong social character, physical and spiritual health in the search and development of knowledge and insight through the educational process. Therefore, Poda Na Lima can be seen as having a strategic role in building quality education in facing the challenges of changing times in the Era Merdeka Belajar.
