Abstract

very year, demanding of spare parts for vehicle isincreasing together to the number of cars, thus spare parts toreplacing faulty component also high demand. Every workshopneed to keep spare parts for replacing breakdown vehicle or someworkshop request spare parts to store it. Base on that, a good spareparts management and storage system is required for effective andfaster service to thecustomer. This paper discuss on the use ofRadio Freqeuncy Identification (RFID) for car engine storage andspare parts management system using RFID technology, because ofits advantages compare to others technology which is no line ofsight required and multiple reading. Every spare parts or enginetagging by an RFID tag which is programmed early with uniqueidentity, then store to a central database for stock and inventorysystem. Testing havebeen conducted an shows reduce on reading performance becauseof most spare parts and engine made from metal material thuseffected to RFID reading performance. A new technique used forRFID tag before tagging which is make some gap from the engineor spare parts to avoid RFID signal absorve by metal material. Theother way is used high gain antenna andRFID reader for faster and powerfull reading. Results showsimprovement on reading distance and performance compare to theprevious tagging technique and tagging placement.

Abstract

Land and forest fires especially in Riau Province, Indonesia, have affected the length and breadth of Indonesia. The fires are normally hampered by seasonal dry conditions such as El Nino effect. In addition, the haze has affected the neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Singapore and south of Thailand. The effects of haze on human health as reported in that particular year were about 20 million people have suffered from respiratory problems and serious deterioration in overall health. There were other effects on environment, economy, flora and fauna in Southeast Asia region due to this disaster. This research proposes to develop a smart monitoring system using Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRa WAN) with low power wireless data communication and Internet of Things (IoT) technology. With LoRa technology, data can be transmitted up to 30 miles which is worthwhile to cover some of Riau Province that have been badly impacted by this disaster. In this article propose to develop sensors system that capable of detecting land and forest fire. The sensors will be located at several locations that has badly impacted previously. LoRa IoT Technology will be deployed to provide a platform for connecting the sensors. An early indication of land or forest fires is vital for quick prevention before they become uncontrollable and overwhelming. The design and development of LoRa sensors give high feasibility to overcome current issues in Riau Province because of land and forest fire.

Abstract

The river is a natural phenomenon thatcommonly available in the tropical region because of rainintensity. Many peoples and community like to live along theriverside for a few decades ago. The river used by thecommunity for transportation and daily activities uses riverwater. In this research objective to design and develop a newsystem with multiple sensors system to monitor river waterpollution because most of the people use it. Wireless SensorNetworks (WSNs) used in this design and developmentbecause of advantages WSNs system, multiple sensor nodesinstalled for detection of water pollution such as watertemperature, pH, electrical conductivity (EC) and dissolvedoxygen (DO). The system designed to be able to monitorriver water pollution parameters and send the information tothe data center (backend system). Arduino microcontrollerused to process and filtering the data before sending to thebackend system, only valid and valuable information tocollect and keep in the database. Results show system be ableto detect polluted water with indicating parameters andshows in a graph. Based on analysis can be concluded thatpolluted water indicator mostly from residence waste andindustry. Furthermore, WSNs sensors will deploy in somearea then compare the results each other.

Abstract

Increasing numbers of wireless local area networks (WLAN) replacing wired networks have an impact on wireless network systems, causing issues such as interference. The smart antenna system is a method to overcome interference issues in WLANs. This paper proposes an artificial immune system (AIS) for a switch beam smart antenna system. A directional antenna is introduced to aim the beam at the desired user. The antenna consists of 8 directional antennas, each of which covers 45 degrees, thus creating an omnidirectional configuration of which the beams cover 360 degrees. To control the beam switching, an inexpensive PIC 16F877 microchip was used. An AIS algorithm was implemented in the microcontroller, which uses the received radio signal strength of the mobile device as reference. This is compared for each of the eight beams, after which the AIS algorithm selects the strongest signal received by the system and the microcontroller will then lock to the desired beam. In the experiment a frequency of 2.4 GHz (ISM band) was used for transmitting and receiving. A test of the system was conducted in an outdoor environment. The results show that the switch beam smart antenna worked fine based on locating the mobile device.

Abstract

Meningkatnya lalu lintas jaringan internet di Local Area Network (LAN) akan berdampak pada kinerja akses internet. Sistem pemantauan ketidaknormalan lalu lintas internet sangat penting untuk mendeteksi penggunaan bandwidth internet secara tidak normal. Di Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) salah satu isu terkait penggunaan internet dan metode yan biasa digunakan adalah dengan memeriksa komputer melalui pemantau ke terminal utama LAN atau sumber penyedia internet. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode baru untuk sistem pemantauan yang memberikan informasi detail dengan menggunakan metode pemantauan jaringan dari berbagai perilaku dan riwayat trafik yang terhubung ke internet, sedangkan informasi detail bandwidth internet yang digunakan di pantau untuk di analisa. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di kawasan LAN yang berada di Universitas Islam Riau, di area LAN kampus. Hasil analisa menunjukkan grafik pemantauan pada siang hari lebih besar karena kegiatan siswa hanya pada waktu itu, berbagai situs web yang di akses dan tautan lainnya oleh mahasiswa dan pegawai di lingkungan kampus dapat dideteksi termasuk durasi yang digunakan serta dengan waktu tertentu. Metode ini memberikan data yang terus menerus dan sangat akurat untuk menangkap penggunaan data yang tidak normal termasuk alamat Internet Protocol (IP) komputer atau perangkat yang terhubung ke internet. Sistem ini membantu operator untuk memberikan laporan terkait penggunaan internet dan pengguna yang terhubung serta data yang digunakan secara otomatis tanpa perlu di lakukan secara manual.

Abstract

Kehadiran mahasiswa di dalam kelas adalah salah satu representasi penilaian diakhir kelas atau perkuliahan, beberapa mahasiswa menitipkan absen atau kehadirannya karena masih menggunakan sistem manual dengan tanda tangan di absen kehadiran. Selain itu, penggunaan sistem kehadiran secara manual kurang efektif karena sangat mudah di palsukan dan banyak adminsitrasi yang harus dilakukan, ditambah lagi penggunaan kertas yang lebih banyak. Penelitian ini membahas tentang sistem absensi otomatis secara online untuk mahamahasiswa dan dosen, di mana setiap mahamahasiswa sebelum masuk ke ruang kelas harus menempelkan kartu tanda mahamahasiswa mereka pada pembaca RFID dan sebelum keluar perlu menempelkan juga untuk bukti keluar. Toleransi waktu masuk dan keluar ditetapkan berdasarkan jadwal yang sudah diatur oleh Universitas, begitu juga untuk karyawan dan dosen, mirip dengan sistem untuk mahamahasiswa sebelum masuk kuliah setiap dosen harus menempelkan kartunya sebagai bukti masuk ke kelas dan juga untuk absen keluar. Data kehadiran mahamahasiswa dan dosen dengan nomor ruang kelas yang sudah diatur dikirim ke database untuk rekaman kehadiran mahamahasiswa dan juga pembayaran honorarium untuk dosen yang masuk. Rancangan sistem diuji di ruang kelas pada Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Islam Riau dengan jumlah mahasiswa sekitar 40 orang per kelas. Data yang dikumpulkan oleh pembaca RFID diteruskan ke server yang dikendalikan oleh teknologi informasi Universitas dan terhubung ke sistem penggajian di bagian keuangan. Sistem ini memberikan efektivitas dan efisiensi dalam administrasi, hasil dari pelaksanaan sistem ini maka tidak ada lagi pelaporan secara manual oleh petugas, sehingga dapat meringankan pekerjaaan karyawan untuk pencatatan kehadiran dosen di akhir bulan untuk pembayaran honorarium. Kelebihan lain dari sistem ini, dan juga mahamahasiswa dan dosen tidak dapat lagi meitipkan absensi kehadiran mereka dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

The growth of retailer lately very significant especially in food product, selling of food product is not only in conventional market but moreover now is in such mini market, mall, shopping complex, etc. Food traceability is required in supply of food product to make sure items are safe to consume and not in expired date. This paper present on food traceability in supply chain based on Electronic Product Code Information Services (EPCIS), the use of EPCIS standard is refer to Global Standard-1 (GS1) for logistic and supply chain based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology. RFID is used for items tagging on food product instead of barcode that currently widely used the advantages of RFID tag compare than barcode make the system is more applicable to used in food traceability. In this case one of food product take into example in supplying which is banana that the process started from farmer until reach to retail house are monitored and recorded by the system. Abstract

Coconut fiber is an agricultural waste that has high economic value if processed properly. The manual process of peeling coconut fiber takes a long time and a lot of energy, so it is not efficient in high production scale. This study aims to increase the production capacity of coconut fiber peeling through the development and implementation of a semi-automatic coconut fiber peeling machine. This machine is designed to combine the cutting and releasing mechanism of the fiber efficiently by utilizing an electric motor and a simple mechanical control system. Testing was carried out by comparing the production capacity between the manual method and the use of a semi-automatic peeling machine. The results showed that the use of a semi-automatic machine was able to increase production capacity up to 3 times compared to the manual method, with faster processing time and reduced operator fatigue levels. These findings provide a practical solution for the coconut processing industry to improve production efficiency and market competitiveness.   Abstrak Sabut kelapa merupakan limbah pertanian yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi jika diolah dengan baik. Proses pengupasan sabut kelapa secara manual memerlukan waktu yang lama dan tenaga yang besar, sehingga tidak efisien dalam skala produksi yang tinggi. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas produksi pengupasan sabut kelapa melalui pengembangan dan implementasi mesin pengupas sabut kelapa semi-otomatis. Mesin ini dirancang untuk memadukan mekanisme pemotongan dan pelepasan sabut secara efisien dengan memanfaatkan motor listrik dan sistem kendali mekanis yang sederhana. Pengujian dilakukan dengan membandingkan kapasitas produksi antara metode manual dan penggunaan mesin pengupas semi-otomatis. Hasil Pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan mesin semi-otomatis mampu meningkatkan kapasitas produksi hingga 3 kali lipat dibandingkan metode manual, dengan waktu proses yang lebih cepat dan tingkat kelelahan operator yang berkurang. Temuan ini memberikan solusi praktis bagi industri pengolahan kelapa untuk meningkatkan efisiensi produksi dan daya saing pasar.

Abstract

Detecting of anomalies patients data are important to gives early alert to hospital, in this paper will explore on anomalies patient data detecting and processing using artificial computer intelligent system. Artificial Immune System (AIS) is an intelligent computational technique refers to human immunology system and has been used in many areas such as computer system, pattern recognition, stock market trading, etc. In this case, real value negative selection algorithm (RNSA) of artificial immune system used for detecting anomalies patient body parameters such as temperature. Patient data from monitoring system or database classified into real valued, real negative selection algorithm results is real values deduction by RNSA distance, the algorithm used is minimum distance and the value of detector generated for the algorithm. The real valued compared with the distance of data, if the distance is less than a RNSA detector distance then data classified into abnormal. To develop real time detecting and monitoring system, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology has been used in this system.
