Abstract

The study aims to investigate all information about the management of the school culture including the achievement culture, characteristic, and extracurricular activity in SMA Negeri 2 Brebes in terms of election and development of school culture, conviction and assumption of school culture, target of development school culture,  planning,  organizing,  implementing,  observing,  producing the  schoolculture. This study was conducted the qualitative research approach. The research subjects included the headmaster, vice-headmaster, teachers, and students. The data were collected by observing, interviewing, and documenting. The data were analyzed by reducing, presenting, and summarizing the data. The research finding showed that the management of the school culture in the effort of improving educational quality in SMA Negeri 2 Brebes by developing achievement culture, characteristic, extracurricular activity to improve the schools’willingness, the student’s potential, teachers’ potential, and schools’ facilities was an effort developing the school culture. The target development of achievement culture was gaining the conviction the schools’ member of SMA 2 Brebes to be able to produce students to have some achievements and be proud. The target of characteristic culture was equalizing the achievement culture. The target of extracurricular activity was producing the students’ achievement in the non-academic area. The planning of culture development accommodates the planning of students’ affair program, and facilities. The organization, in general, was implemented by determining the structure of organization by details of duty, the responsibility of organizational element as the development of the schools’ culture authority. The implementation of achievement culture was conducted by academic and non- academic competition, participation in the competition, and effective learnings. The implementation of character culture was conducted by applying 18 scores of the characteristic of the schools’ member and activities. The implementation of extracurricular activity covered the obligation and optional activity. The observation was conducted by collecting information both formal and informal dialogs, observing students’ attitudes and behaviors, observing the students’ achievement. The school culture product was included by having planned,  implementing, reporting and resulting.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan sekolah untuk meningkatkan prestasi siswa adalah mengembangkan kultur sekolah. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan manajemen kultur sekolah di SMAN 2 Brebes sebagai upaya peningkatan mutu pendidikan yang meliputi kultur berprestasi, berkarakter, dan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen kultur sekolah dilakukan dengan mengembangkan kultur berprestasi, berkarakter, dan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. Kultur Berprestasi dilaksanakan  dengan kompetisi akademik, non-akademik, keikutsertaan lomba, pembelajaran efektif. Kultur berkarakter dilaksanakan dengan 18 nilai karakater yang harus dimiliki oleh warga sekolah serta kegiatan pembiasaan. Kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dilaksanakan meliputi kegiatan wajib dan pilihan. Upaya tersebut dilandasi oleh keinginan sekolah untuk berprestasi dalam rangka membangun kepercayaan masyarakat bahwa sekolah mampu mencetak siswa yang berprestasi dan menjadi kebanggaan.Kata kunci: Manajemen, Kultur sekolah, Mutu pendidikan

Abstract

Penelitian berusaha mengurai transformasi manajemen kompetensi guru dalam bingkai kebijakan, perspektif ini dipilih agar mampu mengetahui pada tataran tingkat messo dalam mentransformasikan kompetensi guru sesuai kebutuhan daerah. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskrptif. Instrument pengumpulan data melalui studi dokumen, Focus Group Discusion (FGD), wawancara, dan survei. Metode tersebut digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data terkait praktik transformasi kompetensi guru TK di Kulonprogo. Transformasi kompetensi guru menjadi prasyarat dalam rangka pemulihan kualitas pendidikan pasca pandemi. Akan tetapi, belum ditemukan adanya transformasi kompetensi guru selama pandemi maupun pasca pandemic yang benar-benar disusun oleh pemerintah daerah Kabupaten Kulon Progo untuk turu TK. Adapun program-program peningkatan kompetensi guru justru banyak lebih dirasakan sebelum adanya pandemic. Meskipun selama pandemi terdapat program peningkatan kompetensi guru dengan moda daring yang dapat diikuti guru secara mandiri, namun hasilnya tidak bisa dirasakan secara nyata karena minimnya komitmen dan konsistensi guru selama pelatihan. Adapun peningkatan kompetensi guru justru datang dari pemerintah pusat dengan program guru penggerak dan sekolah penggerak. Hal ini menjadi pekerjaan rumah bagi Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Kulon Progo untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru TK dalam menjaga dan meningkatkan kualitas belajar peserta didik dalam rangka membekali mereka pada kebutuhan tantangan global.This research sought to unravel the transformation of teacher competence management within the policy framework, this perspective was chosen to , at the messo level,  the transformation of teacher competencies in regard to the regional needs. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection instruments are in the form of document studies, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), interviews, and surveys. This method was used to collect data related to the transformation practice of kindergarten teachers’ competencies in Kulonprogo. Transformation of teacher competencies is a prerequisite in the recovery framework of post-pandemic education. However, there has not been any transformation of teachers’ competences during the pandemic or post-pandemic that was actually arranged by the local government of Kulon Progo Regency for kindergarten teachers. As for programs to improve teacher competence, they were even more recognized before the pandemic. Even though during the pandemic there was a teacher competency improvement program using an online mode in which teachers could participate independently, the results were hardly noticeable due to the lack of commitment and consistency of teachers during training. The increase in teachers’ competences actually came from the central government with the guru penggerak and sekolah penggerak programs. This is the homework for the Education Authorities of  Kulon Progo District to improve the competences of kindergarten teachers to maintain and enhance the quality of student learning and prepare them for the global challenges.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis jenis-jenis hukuman yang diterima  oleh santri di sebuah pesantren X di Sleman, Yogyakarta. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah 20 santri putra dan putri serta tiga orang ustad. Metode pengumpulan data adalah wawancara mendalam, diskusi kelompok terfokus dan observasi. Metode analisis data menggunakan metode interaktif Miles, Huberman Saldana dengan tahapan: kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan ada empat jenis hukuman, yaitu hukuman fisik, denda, dan hukuman berupa melakukan aktivitas, dan hukuman dikeluarkan dari pesantren. Hukuman fisik berupa peserta didik dicukur rambut, dipukul dengan rotan, dipukul dengan tasbih, berdiri di lapangan di siang hari, disiram air comberan, dan berdiri satu jam di depan asrama santri perempuan. Hukuman denda berupa membayar uang dua ribu rupiah, menyetorkan lima kantong semen, menyita telpon seluler yang dibawa dari rumah. Hukuman berupa kegiatan yaitu membaca Al-Quran selama 15 menit, membaca surat Yasin, membersihkan toilet, membersihkan kamar, mencuci piring teman sekamar selama satu minggu. Hukuman yang paling berat adalah dikeluarkan dari pesantren. Secara umum, semua hukuman dapat diterima/disetujui oleh peserta didik karena dianggap masih dalam batas wajar untuk mendidik mereka menjadi disiplin.This study aimed to analyze the types of punishments received by students at an Islamic boarding school X in Yogyakarta. This research method uses a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 20 male and female students and three religious teachers. Data collection methods are in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and observation. The data analysis method uses the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study concluded that there were five types of punishment: 1) point accumulative punishment; 2) Corporal punishments included shaving their hair, beating them with rattan sticks, beating them with prayer beads, standing in the field during the day, being doused with sewage water, and standing for one hour in front of the female students' dormitory; 3)The fine is in the form of paying two thousand rupiahs, depositing five bags of cement, and confiscating the cell phone brought from home; 4) Punishment in the form of activities, namely reading the Koran for 15 minutes, reading Yasin's letter, cleaning the toilet, cleaning the room, and washing the roommates' dishes for one week; 5) The most severe punishment is expulsion from the pesantren. In general, all punishments can be accepted/approved by students because they are considered within reasonable limits to educate them to be disciplined.

Abstract

Penguatan resiliensi personal anak usia sekolah di kawasan marjinal Kota Yogyakarta mendesak untuk dilakukan. Hal ini didasarkan pada fenomena kesenjangan akses maupun kualitas pendidikan sebagai issue penting dalam Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penguatan resiliensi personal anak usia sekolah di Kawasan Bong Suwung dalam mengakses layanan pendidikan serta rekomendasi untuk mengurangi tantangan yang ada. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kualitatif deskriptif. Berdasar hasil penelitian penguatan resiliensi personal anak usia sekolah di kawasan marjinal kota Yogyakarta masih belum optimal dilihat dari rendahnya akses pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi. Ini dipengaruhi oleh faktor kurang dukungan dan kemiskinan orang tua serta lingkungan. Rekomendasi yang ditawarkan berupa intervensi psiko-sosial untuk penguatan resiliensi personal anak usia sekolah melalui dukungan sosial, terutama dari keluarga yang menjadi faktor paling penting.

Abstract

The background of this study is the high unemployment rate among university graduates in Indonesia (842,378 people in 2024) due to the mismatch between competencies and industry needs. As a form of service learning, the Certified Internship and Independent Study Program (MSIB) is expected to improve students' soft skills. This quantitative study aims to measure the impact of MSIB on the overall improvement of students' soft skills and three specific aspects: communication skills, creativity, and conflict resolution. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire from 118 MSIB participants at Yogyakarta State University and analyzed using simple correlation and MANOVA. The results show that 1) MSIB has a significant impact on the overall improvement of soft skills (12.1%); 2) MSIB has the most substantial impact on communication skills (50% variance), followed by creativity (37.4%), and conflict resolution (36.8%). These findings support the role of MSIB as an effective strategy in bridging the competency gap among graduates.
