Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis kepada siswa dalam Kursus Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang di Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni di Universitas Negeri Manado melalui lokakarya dan kolaborasi model pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah model penelitian tindakan Kemmis dan Mc Taggart yang terdiri dari tiga tahap, yaitu perencanaan tindakan, tindakan dan observasi, refleksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam tiga siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah semester lima dengan siswa pendidikan bahasa Jepang. FBS UNIMA 2015/2016. Data penelitian diambil dari berbagai sumber melalui beberapa teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara, tes. Data diolah secara manual dengan prinsip panduan metodologi kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Melalui penjaminan mutu kualitas data (triangulasi) dan prosesnya dilakukan dalam interpretasi yang ketat, penelitian ini menemukan hal berikut. Hasil penelitian selama tiga siklus menunjukkan peningkatan nilai rata-rata kemampuan menulis siswa melalui lokakarya dan model kolaborasi di setiap akhir pengujian. Hasil pretest kemampuan menulis sakubun siswa menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 48,06%, tes pada akhir siklus pertama menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 53,06%, tes pada akhir siklus kedua menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 68,47%, dan tes pada akhir siklus ketiga menunjukkan rata-rata rata-rata 82,11% . Berdasarkan indikator keberhasilan nilai rata-rata tes siswa pada akhir siklus ketiga yang mencapai 82,11% menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan kolaborasi dan lokakarya pembelajaran silubun dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis mata pelajaran siswa.  This study aims to improve writing to student in the Course of Study of Japanese Language Education in Faculty of Languages and Arts at Manado State University  through the workshops and collaborations the learning model. The method used was the action research model of Kemmis and Mc Taggart which consists of three phases, namely, action planning, action and observation, reflection. This research was conducted in three cycles. The subject of this study is the fifth semester with students of Japanese language education. FBS UNIMA 2015/2016. Research data was taken from various sources through multiple data collection techniques are observations, interviews , tests. The data was processed manually with the guiding principles of qualitative and quantitative being methodologies. Through quality assurance of data quality (triangulation) and the process is carried out in strict interpretation, this study found the following. The results of the study during three cycles showed an increase in the average value of  student’s writing skills through the workshops and collaborations model in each end of the test .The results of the pretest of student sakubun writing ability shows an average value of 48.06 % , the test at the end of the first cycle shows the average value of 53.06 %, a test at the end of the second cycle showed an average value of 68.47 % , and the test at the end of the third cycle shows the average average 82.11 % . Based on the success indicators of the average test scores of students at the end of the third cycle which reaches 82.11 % indicates that using collaborations and workshops in the learning of writing sakubun can improve student’s sakubun writing skills.

Abstract

This research is about how far instructional media affect the use of Japanese yarimorai acceptance expression. The goals of this research are (1) to find out students’ mastery level in using Japanese yarimorai acceptance expression, (2) to find out how far instructional media affect the use of Japanese yarimorai acceptance expression. Data of this research are from test result, and are processed statistically by using T-Test Formula with the help of qualitative and experimental research principles. Through quality assurance of data quality and interpretation process that is done carefully and actually, this research found some ideas which later will become ideas and study in effort of improvement of Japanese language education. The findings of the test results show that the average score of the group of students taught by using the image media is 8 with the standard deviation of 0.71 and the average score of the group taught without using the image media is 5.92 with standard deviation 0.64. The T test results reveal the significance of the mean difference is 6.5 with the experimental group learning outcomes higher than the control class. This proves that the use of media images have an effect on the use of Japanese acceptance expressions yarimorai

Abstract

Pada penelitian akan menguraikan cara-cara baru dalam memudahkan proses belajar mengajar, lewat pemaduan unsur seni dan pencapaian-pencapaian yang terarah, melalui pembelajaran Quantum Teaching. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) ada tidaknya perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar bahasa Jepang antara siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan metode Quantum Learning dan yang diajar tanpa menggunakan metode Quantum Teaching; (2) efektifitas penerapan metode Quantum Teaching terhadap hasil belajar bahasa Jepang siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan model dua kelompok (two group), dimana yang satu sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan satu kelompok lainnya sebagai kelompok kontrol. Rancangan perbedaan rata-rata skor pasca test dengan praktek untuk setiap kelas/kelompok dibandingkan.Untuk menentukan apakah perlakuan eksperimen menghasilkan perubahan yang lebih besar dari situasi kontrol dan perbedaan perubahan rata-rata dengan analisis statistik uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh hasil bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara penerapan metodel pembelajaran Quantum Teaching dengan pembelajaran tanpa model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching terhadap hasil belajar bahasa Jepang siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 9 Manado dan uji efektivitas diperoleh bahwa pembelajaran dengan metode pembelajaran Quantum Teaching lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran tanpa menggunakan metode pembelajaran Quantum Teaching.

Abstract

Objective: This study investigates the integration of sakubun writing instruction with character education in Japanese language pedagogy at Manado State University, exploring implementation strategies and student responses to this integrated approach. A qualitative descriptive design was employed with 30 fifth-semester students as participants. Data were collected through classroom observations (12 sessions), semi-structured interviews (15 students), and document analysis of sakubun compositions. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns in integration practices and student perceptions. Findings reveal three primary integration strategies: thematic writing assignments incorporating moral values, reflective journal activities, and collaborative peer feedback emphasizing respectful communication. Students demonstrated enhanced awareness of character values such as honesty, responsibility, and empathy while developing their Japanese writing proficiency. Students reported increased motivation and meaningful engagement in writing tasks. Key challenges included time constraints and difficulty in assessing character development alongside linguistic competence. This study provides empirical evidence of character education integration within Japanese writing pedagogy, an underexplored area in foreign language education research. It offers a practical framework for language educators seeking to implement values-based instruction while maintaining focus on linguistic objectives, contributing to holistic approaches in second language writing instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the intertextual relationship between the novels Jepun Negerinya Hiroko and Kuantar ke Gerbang, including comparisons of the main male characters, themes, plots, meanings, and points of view in both novels. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with an intertextual approach. Data were collected through library techniques and validated using theoretical and data triangulation. Analysis results reveal that both novels share similarities and differences in their structural elements. The similarities include the selfish attitude of the main male characters, themes addressing social problems encompassing human life in macro and micro aspects that influence marital relationships, point of view using first-person singular style where in Jepun Negerinya Hiroko the narrator participates as a character in the story, while in Kuantar ke Gerbang the narrator exists outside the story but understands the characters' feelings, and an overall meaning of unity among people. In Jepun Negerinya Hiroko, universalism is emphasized to unite different ethnic groups through the slogan promoting freedom, brotherhood, and equality, whereas Kuantar ke Gerbang highlights nationalism through youth unity. The differences between the two novels include the main male character being introverted in Jepun Negerinya Hiroko and extroverted in Kuantar ke Gerbang, the role of the main male character as antagonist versus protagonist, the central theme concerning mixed marriage between different cultural and national backgrounds compared to the spirit of national independence struggle, and the use of flashback plot positioned at the end of the story in Jepun Negerinya Hiroko.
