Abstract

The low condition of students’ Generic Science Skills (GSS) becoming a concern since GSS is an essential provision for millennial living in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. The study aimed to measure the impact of guided inquiry learning on generic science skills by using the digital swing model. This research used the experimental method which involved 360 students of 12th grade from senior high school. The primary data of students’ GSS were obtained from observations during activities and reports of practicum activities, then the resulting data were analyzed by t-test. The average of students’ GSS in the experimental class was 3.32, which is included in the very good category. Meanwhile in the control class was 3.17, which is included in the good category. Based on the results of the t-test analysis, the score was 0.044, which means that there were differences between the experimental class and the control class. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of digital swing has a positive impact on students’ GGS. The use of digital swing could stimulate the students to do the practicum activities which leads to the improvement of student’s GGS. However, this study is only focusing on the smaller angle; therefore, it is crucial for further research to set up the digital swing with the angle >15° to identify the effect on it.

Abstract

Deaf students have limitations on the sense of hearing, so to grow self-learning requires special processes and training. The results of the observations at the especialy needs secondary school (Sekolah menengah pertama luar biasa negeri/SMPLB-N-in Indosesia) found that one of the goals of the SMPLB-N Ungaran was to produce graduates who were independent and could live in community life. This study aims to improve the learning independence of SMPLB-N Ungaran students by using BISINDO-based videos. This video is equipped with sign language that makes it easy for students to understand the material being studied. The method used is an experiment with the design of single subject A-B patterns. A is baseline dan B is Intervention. The data analysis technique uses descriptive percentages. BISINDO-based video-assisted learning helps students improve self-learning. The increase in the learning independence of deaf students from the baseline phase to the intervention phase was 2.29 in the high category. The average increase in students’ self-learning is 46.1% for the personal aspects of attributes, 52.4% for the aspect process, and 10.2% for the learning context aspect.

Abstract

From the analysis of some reseach shows that there are fewer devices to maximize the learning potential of students. An exciting challenge to bring a humanistic learning mathematics, constructivist and effective. This research aims to generate a device-based humanistic constructivist learning mathematics with a valid concept map strategies, practical and effective on the material derivatives. This development used a modified model of 4-D Thiagarajan. Learning device being developed include: syllabus, lesson plans, worksheets, Student Textbook and Learning Achievement Tests on the material derivatives. Data is analyzed by observations, questionnaires and tests. Expert validation results showed all the devices that are developed to meet the criteria of validity. The results of research shows practical learning, as evidenced by the response and very good teachers, and students respond is 96.67%. Effective learning, characterized by (a) the value of Learning Achievement Test students achieve mastery in the classical i.e 82.67 and achievement value ≥ 75 was 93.3% 9 (b) activity and motivation affect achievement of 94.3% and (c) the average achievement of 82.67 experimental classes are better than the control class that only 77.33. In conclusion, the development of the teaching of mathematics is valid, practical and effective.

Abstract

Learning design abilities and TPACK are very much needed by prospective science teachers to prepare science learning in the 21st century. The specific objectives of this research were to analyze the improvement of the learning design ability and TPACK possessed by pre-service science teachers after taking lectures with the Project-Based Scaffolding TPACK (PBST) model and analyze the correlation between TPACK and learning design abilities. The research used was quantitative research with non-equivalent control group design. The samples selected were 4 classes of pre-service science teachers who were taking Science Learning Strategy and Design courses. The instrument used in this study consisted of a lesson plan assessment sheet and a TPACK evaluation test. Data analysis used was independent t test, N-Gain test, and bivariate correlation test using SPSS. The results showed that the experimental class obtained an increase in the high category on learning design ability and the medium category on TPACK. After being given PBST model treatment in the experimental class, there is a significant difference in the learning design ability and TPACK between the experimental and control classes. In addition, the results also show that there is a correlation between TPACK and learning design ability. The PBST model is expected to be a solution offer to prepare pre-service science teachers at higher education in line with the demands of 21st century learning based on technology integration.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum demands student competence and character formation through the Pancasila Student Profile (called P3). Through science learning, P3 indicators can be achieved. This study aims to (1) analyze Child-friendly School (CFS) implementation in SHS-X, (2) analyze SHS-X students' characters, and (3) identify teachers' attitudes during learning in SHS-X. This research uses a qualitative approach. The sample was obtained using purposive sampling from a child-friendly school implementing a Merdeka curriculum. The data validity was tested by triangulation. Data was explored based on participants' said, felt, and done or an emic perspective. Science learning activities inside and outside the classroom were observed. The subjects were principals, teachers, alumni, parents, and students at SHS-X. Data was collected through observation, interviews, analyzing documents, and giving questionnaires. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model. Based on the research and discussion results, implementing the child-friendly school policy at SHS-X has met the indicators set out in the Child-Friendly School Guidelines. The characters formed in SHS-X students include (1) nationalism, (2) religion, (3) leadership, (4) politeness, (5) honesty, (6) cooperation, and (7) anti-corruption. Another thing that makes SHS-X superior is that the teachers’ attitudes during learning are friendly, humane, and fun. With the two-way discussion method, learning becomes more interactive. With teachers teaching humanely, many students experience changes in behavior and learning outcomes. It is hoped that SHS-X's best practices in implementing CFS can inspire other schools.
