Abstract

The community of Banjaroyo, Kalibawang - Kulon Progo Yogyakarta has poor clean and healthy lifestyle habits (CHLH) which still do not like washing hands with soap and unhealthy snacks. Besides that, knowledge of dengue disease is also still low with the condition of dengue endemic areas. The 71st period of the UAD Community Service Program conducted from 23 January to 20 February 2019 was intended to empower the community through the dissemination of CHLH and DHF. The method used consisted of lectures, demonstrations and special practices for Hand Washing with Soap, while for Snacks and DHF the lecture method was used. The impact of these program are the increased knowledge and skills of the community in the field of CHLH, especially how to wash hands properly using soap, choose healthy snacks and efforts to prevent dengue disease.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Foodborne Diseases masih menjadi masalah kesehatandizaman modern ini. Terjadinya Foodborne Diseases karena kelalaian atauketidaktauan penjamah makanan tentang perilaku keamanan pangan.Perilaku penjamah makanan dapat dipengaruhi oleh karakteristik individuyang meliputi umur, jenis kelamin, tingkat pendidikan, masa kerja danpengalaman pelatihan. Hasil penelitian terdahulu di rumah makan kawasankuliner pantai Depok Bantul menyatakan bahwa ada hubungan antaraperilaku penjamah makanan dalam pengolahan makanan dengan jumlahangka kuman pada ikan bawal bakar. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahuihubungan karakteristik individu dengan perilaku keamanan pangan padapenjamah makanan di Rumah Makan Kawasan Wisata Kuliner Pantai DepokKabupaten Bantul.Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakanmetode analitik observasional dengan rancangan cross sectional. Sampelpenelitian menggunakan total sampling berjumlah 75 responden dari 75rumah makan. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar identitasresponden dan lembar check list. Analisis data secara bivariat menggunakanChi-square.Hasil: Karakteristik responden sebagai berikut: Golongan umur terbanyakadalah <46 tahun (61%), berjenis kelamin perempuan (91%), tingkatpendidikan tinggi (64%), masa kerja lama (84%) dan pernah mengikutipelatihan (65%). Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukkan ada hubungan (umur,p value=0,023; masa kerja, p value=0,024; dan pelatihan, p value=0,023),serta tidak ada hubungan (jenis kelamin, p value=1,000; dan tingkatpendidikan, p value=0,126).Kesimpulan: Ada hubungan umur, masa kerja dan pelatihan dengan perilakukeamanan pangan pada penjamah makanan di rumah makan kawasan wisatakuliner Pantai Depok Kabupaten Bantul.

Abstract

Background: The availability of safe, healthy, and clean food in tourism places is essential to ensure customers’ satisfaction. Most previous studies focused on food safety practices among food handlers. However, personal food safety practices are needed to prevent foodborne diseases. Objective: This study aimed to identify the factors associated with food safety practices among people who visited Depok Beach. Methods: A quantitative approach was done on 211 Depok Beach visitors selected by the accidental sample method. This study was conducted from September to October 2022. Descriptive statistics, chi-square, and binary logistic regression were used for data analysis. Results: This study found that factors such as marital status, knowledge, and attitude were 2.8, 1.2, and 2.2 times, respectively, more likely to practice poor food safety practices.  Conclusion: The food safety practice among visitors was less than average. The factors associated with food safety practices among visitors were marital status, knowledge, and attitude about food safety. Health promotion about food safety for customers is needed. Further studies could mix with the qualitative approach to get comprehensive findings.

Abstract

The Effective Action Innovation Program to Overcome Nutritional Problems (AJA MAGIZ) is an innovation program to overcome the problem of stunting in toddlers, implemented starting in 2021 at the Pagentan II Banjarnegara Community Health Center. The aim of this research is to analyze the implementation of the AJA MAGIZ program in the field using the theoretical approach of Doland Van Meter and Carl Van Horn. Qualitative research with a case study design involving 2 main informants and 7 triangulated informants. Data collected: goals, objectives and criteria for program success; implementation, guidebooks, and funds; activity schedule, division of tasks, problem solving in the field; community leaders and household participation. Data were collected using in-depth interview techniques and analyzed using the Manual Data Analysis Procedure. The research results show that program implementers: understand the target criteria, objectives and success of the program well; have adequate knowledge and skills but the number of implementing staff and funds is still lacking; carry out activities according to the schedule that has been prepared, can solve technical problems in the field; Community leaders provide support and the household were participate actively. The results of the analysis concluded that the AJA MAGIZ program was implemented well and succeeded in reducing the number of stunted toddlers by 73%. It is important to meet the shortage of implementing staff and funds.

Abstract

Background: Previous research found that children in rural areas have a 1.3 times greater risk of stunting than children in urban areas. Exclusive breastfeeding is one of the risk factors for stunting. The 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS) showed that the percentage of exclusive breastfeeding in urban areas was 37.8%, while in rural areas, it was 46.9%. The purpose of this study was to determine the magnitude of the risk of stunting in toddlers who are not exclusively breastfed in rural and urban areas. Method: This research used a Meta-Analysis Systematic Review by searching articles in PubMed, Google Scholar, and Garuda that were in Indonesian or English and published between 2019 and 2024. Keywords included stunting, risk factors, exclusive breastfeeding, children under five, rural, and urban. The article search used the PICO framework, while the article quality assessment used the Joanna Bright Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Instrument. The data collected was presented in a PRISMA diagram and analyzed based on Forest Plot graphs using RevMan 5.4.1. Results: A total of 3,269 articles were identified, and 11 met the criteria. The analysis showed that toddlers not exclusively breastfed had a 3.84 times greater risk of stunting in rural areas and 2.38 times greater for urban regions than exclusively breastfed toddlers. Conclusion: Children who are not exclusively breastfed in rural areas are at greater risk of stunting than those in urban areas.

Abstract

Houseflies are the primary vectors for the spread of pathogens that cause foodborne diseases. Flies are commonly found on open food displays, such as those found in the coastal culinary tourism area of Depok Bantul. Food handlers play a crucial role in maintaining food hygiene. Their knowledge is a key factor influencing their behavior in fly control. This study aims to measure the knowledge about flies and its relationship with fly control behavior among food handlers in the Depok Bantul beach tourism area. The study used a Cross-sectional design involving 80 food handlers selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used was a closed-ended questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-square test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that 51.25% of respondents had a high level of knowledge about flies, and 56.25% demonstrated good fly control behavior. Statistical tests showed a significant relationship between knowledge and fly control behavior (p=0.004; PR=4.364; CI 95%=1.696–11.229). Food handlers with high knowledge tended to have better fly control behavior. These findings emphasize the importance of ongoing education in raising awareness and preventive measures against the dangers of flies as disease vectors.

Abstract

Tanah di wilayah Kecamatan Gedangsari mengandung batuan kapur. Masyarakat di daerah ini banyak yang mengkonsumsi air minum dari sumur gali yang mengandung kadar kalsium tinggi, dan banyak yang menderita urolithiasis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran distribusi kalsium atau Ca(OH)2 pada air sumur dan menjelaskan hubungannya dengan kejadian urolithiasis. Penelitian dilakukan di Kecamatan Gedangsari, Kabupaten Gunungkidul selama Juli sampai November 2013. Penelitian dilakukan secara potong lintang dengan konfirmasi uji titrasi di laboratorium. Sejumlah 94 sampel sumur dipilih secara acak dari populasi 3.849 sumur. Kriteria pemilihan sampel adalah sumur gali yang telah digunakan untuk minum oleh penduduk berusia lebih dari 30 tahun, dengan kedalaman kurang dari 15 meter. Pemeriksaan laboratorium kadar kalsium dilakukan dengan titrasi. Dugaan urolithiasis didiagnosis melalui pemeriksaan klinis oleh dokter. Data dianalisis dengan uji kai kuadrat. Hasil analisis menunjukkan hubungan antara kesadahan air dengan urolithiasis (RP= 2.27) namun tidak bermakna secara statistik. Konsumsi air putih, usia, dan lama tinggal tidak berhubungan dengan kejadian urolithiasis di Kecamatan Gedangsari Kabupaten Gunungkidul. The land in Gedangsari Subdistrict area composes of limestone. Many local people consume drinking water from wells that contain high levels of calcium. Many people suffer from urolithiasis. This study aimed to describe calcium or Ca(OH)2 distribution in the well water and explain its relation with urolithiasis incidence. This study was conducted in Gedangsari Subdistrict, Gunung Kidul District from July to November 2013. The study was cross sectional confirmed with titration test in laboratory. Samples were 94 wells of 3,849 well population as selected randomly. Criteria of sample selection included wells used for drinking by the population aged older than 30 years already, with less than 15 meter of depth. Laboratory test of Ca (OH)2 level was conducted by titration. Suspect urolithiasis was clinically diagnosed by doctor and data analysis used chi-square test. Results showed relation between water hardness and urolithiasis (RP = 2.27), although statistically not significant. In conclusion, there was no relation between mineral water consumption, age, and length of stay with urolithiasis incidence in Gedangsari Subdistrict, Gunungkidul District.

Abstract

Pangan merupakan sumber utama pemenuhan kebutuhan zat gizi. Salah satu pertimbangan yang akan digunakan sebagai dasar pemilihan pangan adalah faktor keamanan pangan. Makanan yang tidak aman (unhygienis), akan menjadi perantara penularan penyakit yang dikenal dengan foofdborne disease dan keracunan makanan. Hasil penelitian terdahulu mengungkapkan bahwa hasil olahan makanan di kawasan wisata Pantai Depok masih mengandung angka kuman yang tinggi. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa keamanan pangan yang dihasilkan masih rendah, serta higiene dan sanitasi penjamah makanan masih kurang. Penelitian terdahulu menyimpulkan bahwa keamanan pangan dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan dan sikap dari penjamah makanan itu sendiri serta ketersediaan fasilitas sanitasi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan, sikap penjamah makanan dan fasilitas sanitasi dengan keamanan pangan di Rumah Makan Kawasan Wisata Kuliner Pantai Depok Kabupaten Bantul. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan metode analitik observasional dan rancangan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian menggunakan total sampling berjumlah 75 responden dari 75 rumah makan. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner, lembar check list dan lembar observasi. Data dianalisis secara univariat dan bivariat dengan uji statistik Chi Square.Hasil statistik menunjukkan ada hubungan pengetahuan (p value= 0,016), sikap (p value= 0,018) penjamah makanan terhadap keamanan pangan, dan tidak ada hubungan fasilitas sanitasi (p value= 0,198) terhadap keamanan pangan.Kesimpulan: Ada hubungan antara pengetahuan dan sikap penjamah makanan terhadap keamanan pangan, serta tidak ada hubungan antara fasilitas sanitasi terhadap keamanan pangan.
