Abstract

Islamic education is currently experiencing a decline in terms of Islamic values which causes setbacks. Educational observers analyze several reasons for the decline, including the material of life that does not refer to its main source, the occurrence of social and cultural crises, the loss of good examples, the right faith, and Islamic values. This problem requires the right solution in order to immediately get a solution so that the Islamic education process is able to run as expected. For this reason, it is necessary to refer to the Qur'an as a solution to the personality characteristics of educators. In this study, the researcher chose Surah Al-A‟la as the Surah of choice to examine the personality characteristics of the educators contained in it. This type of research is library research, which is a document study whose data sources come from written materials whose discussion is related to the character of educators. Researchers found the relevance of the character of educators to Islamic education, namely aqidah is the basic foundation that humans must have. This foundation must be firmly planted and realized in the form of habituation in order to form a character that is uswatun hasanah, namely noble character that can be imitated and followed by students and those around them. Then the relationship between educators as innovators, mentors, motivators and advisors is a form of attitude that is needed and must exist in educators so that the goals of Islamic education are successful.

Abstract

This study aims to understand and analyze: Explanation of the meaning of dharb in the Qur'an and interpretation of mufassir on the meaning of dharb in surah an-Nisa': 34. The method used is qualitative with the type of library research and is descriptive thematic analysis supported by primary data and secondary. The results of the study show that: the Qur'an explains the meaning of dharb with different meanings, such as making, making, being overwritten, traveling, hitting, walking, fighting, and trying (work). The author found a similarity of opinion among the mufassirs in interpreting the word dharb in Surah an-Nisa’: 34, that is, they only interpret the word dharb in the letter and verse which is meant to mean 'to hit', even though with different techniques and models. According to the author, if you look at the compilation and description of the meaning of the word dharb, you can be sure that the word does not only mean hitting as described by the commentators. On this basis, the author does not blame the interpretation of the mufassirs, but interpreting the word dharb in the verse to mean hitting alone is too narrow.

Abstract

Various models of da'wah approaches are methods or ways used in delivering religious messages. There are several different approaches that are often used in da'wah, each with different objectives and methods. The Qur'an provides many instructions and principles on how to preach effectively. There are a variety of approaches that are often used in da'wah, each with different goals and methods and this is contained in surah An-nahl verse 125. Surah An-Nahl verse 125 of Al-Qurthubi's perspective provides clear guidance on how to do da'wah effectively. Using wisdom, mau'izah hasanah, and good jidal, while still surrendering to Allah's decision, are important principles in the da'wah process. Preachers are expected to deliver messages wisely, prioritize good advice, and argue in a polite manner, all in an effort to achieve the greater goal of da'wah. In this study, the author used a qualitative approach. This method utilizes information, notes, and data from the texts that have been studied. In this method, descriptive analysis is very important, where the author seeks to describe in a structured manner to provide a clear, systematic, objective, and critical explanation and description of the method of delivering messages in Al-Qur'an Surah An-Nahl verse 125 from Al-Qurtubi's perspective.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of qira’at as an instrument of thematic interpretation, especially in QS. Al-Baqarah verses 196 and 222, and its implications for the istinbath of fiqh law. Using an interpretive qualitative approach with a literature study method, this study examines primary sources such as Jāmi‘ al-Bayān (al-Ṭabarī), Al-Jāmi‘ li Aḥkām al-Qur’ān (al-Qurṭubī), Mafātīḥ al-Ghayb (al-Rāzī), and qira’at literature such as An-Nashr fī al-Qirā’āt al-‘Ashr (Ibn al-Jazārī) and Manāhil al-‘Irfān (al-Zarqānī). The results of the study show that the difference in readings in the wording of al-'umrah (nashab vs rafa') affects the legal status of umrah (obligatory or sunnah), while the readings of yathurna vs yattaharna have an impact on the conditions for the permissibility of postmenstrual husband-wife relations. The integration of qira'at into thematic interpretation shows its potential in bridging differences in schools of thought, enriching legal analysis, and responding to the challenges of contemporary fiqh inclusively. This study confirms that qira'at mutawatir is not only a linguistic source, but also a legitimate epistemic foundation in the development of Islamic interpretation and law.

Abstract

Patriarchal culture has deeply rooted itself in the majority of countries around the world. The perceived superiority of men over women extends into various sectors of life, resulting in the marginalization of the significant roles women play. Unfortunately, this patriarchal culture is often justified by interpretations of Qur'anic verses, including Q.S. An-Nisa: 34. This research employs a conceptual thematic method. The type of research used is library research, which relies on literature sources. The approach adopted is the double movement hermeneutics of Fazlur Rahman and hermeneutics of Rasyid Ridha. This approach is used to uncover the historical context of the verse, in order to extract its moral ideas for application in the present day. The findings of this research show that, from a historical perspective, Q.S. An-Nisa: 34 was revealed as a response to the deeply entrenched patriarchal culture among the Arab people. This verse contains three core moral ideas: it implies the obligation of a husband as the head of the household to provide for and protect his wife; it indicates the responsibility of a good wife to guard herself; and it outlines the method for addressing a wife’s disobedient behavior (nusyūz). These three moral ideas suggest that husbands and wives are, in essence, family partners with equal rights, responsibilities, and status.

Abstract

This research examines the transformation of Quranic exegesis (tafsir) in the digital era, focusing on opportunities, challenges, and hermeneutical reorientation. The methodology employs a qualitative approach with literature studies and descriptive analysis of various digital platforms providing Quranic interpretation services. The findings indicate that the digital era offers significant opportunities in democratizing access to tafsir, facilitating cross-madhab verse search and interpretation, and developing interactive exegetical methodologies. However, major challenges include the validity and authority of digital tafsir sources, interpretation polarization, and degradation of classical scholarly traditions. Hermeneutical reorientation is necessary through developing digital epistemology that maintains classical hermeneutical principles while being adaptive to technological dynamics. This research contributes to developing a comprehensive digital hermeneutical framework for Quranic exegesis relevant to contemporary needs.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out what is meant by gray hair and what is the concept of gray hair in Tafsir Al-Munir, gray hair comes from the words شَابَ - يَشِيْبُ - شَيْب, which means white hair on the top of the head, either a little or a lot. The plural form of the word شَيْب is شيُوْب. The word شَيْب in the Koran is found in three suras, including surah Maryam [19] verse 4 with the pronunciation شَيْبا surah al-Rûm [30] verse 54 with the pronunciation شَيْبةَ, and surah al-Muzzammil [73] verse 17 with the pronunciation شِيْب ا. Gray hair is hair that is white or starting to turn white. Gray hair is described in the Koran as a biological signal indicating that a person is old, as well as a theological signal that a person will soon be returned to his Lord. This research examines what is meant by gray hair and the concept of gray hair in Al Munir's interpretation. This research uses qualitative research methods and library research. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that the concept of gray hair in Wahba Al-Zuhaili's Tafsir Al-Munir is a reminder for those of us who will have gray hair to introspect ourselves about the message of its growth and implies obedience, even for every gray hair that grows in between. Between our hair there is a pile of wise advice to equip us to follow the path of life, to strengthen our beliefs, give birth to wisdom, make the sad happy, dispel despair, and give birth to a million hopes.
