Abstract

The objective of the research is to evaluate whether social media of the Ditjen Pajak (Directorate General of Tax) has contribution to the organizational image and the increase in tax awareness and to analyze whether the contribution is different between its heavy followers and light followers. The theory used is 4C theory in using social media: context, communication, collaboration, and connection.  The population is the followers of facebook account and instagram and non-tax employees of the Ditjen Pajak. The samples are 200, taken by using purposive sampling, based on the result of observation, and accidental sampling technique. The result of testing using the SPSS program with linear regression analysis and Spearman Rho-Rank correlation test, shows that there is contribution of social media at the Ditjen Pajak to the organizational image with a quite meaningful correlation in the two variables and there is contribution of social media at the Ditjen Pajak to tax awareness with insignificant but positive correlation in the two variables. The result of Chow test indicates that there is a difference in the contribution of social media at the Ditjen Pajak to its image between its heavy followers and light followers, but there is no difference in the contribution of social media at the Ditjen Pajak to tax awareness between its heavy followers and light followers.

Abstract

This study entitled "Construction of Interpersonal Communication Commuities Share & Care in Motivating Self Cancer Patients at Murni Teguh Hospital Medan" which aims at determining how interpersonal communication is formed among cancer sufferers as well as how the relationship between family support in self-motivation and knowing the psychological condition of the patient cancer in the Share & Care community. Interpersonal communication is an important instrument in approaching cancer sufferers, the Share & Care community in this case was born as a forum for them to provide motivation, enthusiasm and fight fear in undergoing treatment. Researchers used descriptive research methods, namely by collecting data through observations or observations, as well as managing information to then draw conclusions from the study. The number of informants taken was 5 informants who were members of the Share & Care community as well as cancer patients. This study resulted in a way of interpersonal communication carried out by members of the Share & Care community which had a positive effect on cancer patients, namely motivating themselves so that they were willing to follow the entire treatment process that had been determined by the doctor.

Abstract

This film provides insight into the importance of effective communication in the family. This film also depicts the richness and complexity of Toba Batak culture. How these cultural symbols can be analyzed from a semiotic perspective. The formulation of this research problem is important to see how the horror film deliciously conveys the message of awareness of family communication in the Batak Toba community using semiotic analysis. Based on the conflict between a Batak family and their four children who migrated to the capital. The method used is a qualitative method with a cultural semiotic approach. The Toba Batak tribe adheres to very strict customs. This film is able to bring awareness to this through the conflicts and solutions presented in the story of this film. The results of the research are that language becomes messages and symbolic meanings that can be an inspiration for the public to increase awareness of communication within the family and help create a harmonious and happy family.

Abstract

Research Aims: This study aims to measure the influence of Persuasive Communication Competence on User Satisfaction at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Library, to measure the influence of Librarian Performance on User Satisfaction at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Library, Design/methodology/approach: This research employs a quantitative correlational method to understand the relationships between the variables. The Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) communication theory by Robert Cialdini is used in this study. The population for this study includes all individuals who have visited the Universitas Sumatera Utara Library. The sampling technique used is Accidental Sampling. The instrument used is a digital questionnaire distributed via Google Forms to 392 respondents. Research Findings: The results indicate that significant positive influence of both persuasive communication competence and librarian performance on user satisfaction at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Library. Persuasive communication and librarian performance can explain 58.4% of the influence on customer satisfaction, which according to the Guilford scale falls into the moderate/medium category and has a fairly high influence. The remaining 41.6% is influenced by other unmeasured variables such as physical facilities, collection availability, service systems, information technology, and human resources Theoretical Contribution/Originality: The results of this research can be used as a basis for further research on a larger scale or in a different context such as research in more general libraries. In addition, the researcher recommends that future researchers can carry out further research by conducting a more detailed investigation into the persuasive communication competencies of librarians and their role. Diverse approaches can provide a more comprehensive understanding of how librarians' persuasive communication competencies and performance influence library use.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze marketing communication strategies and analysis in maintaining FIF's positioning among consumers. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques through interviews and documentation. The analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The informants in this study consisted of three main informants and three triangulation informants. The results showed that the marketing communication strategy implemented by FIF was by identifying audiences through surveys, questionnaires and interviews regarding market wants and needs, then designing messages by holding internal meetings, then determining the methods and media used such as social media, namely Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, print media such as brochures, billboards, banners, and electronic media such as virtual exhibitions. FIF also carried out a strategy with complete products, cheaper installments and interest, locations with offices located throughout Indonesia and at cooperating shops and dealers, and finally carried out various promotions from various online, print and electronic media. Factors that maintain FIF's positioning among the public are the ease of requirements, the speed of the application process until disbursement, the friendliness of the employees, the many attractive offers such as promos delivered directly via WhatsApp, SMS, or telephone calls to consumers, finally the prizes given.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the representation and ethical dilemmas of privacy communication in the Korean film "Unlocked," which is popular on the Netflix streaming platform. In an intense and suspenseful story, the film follows Lee Na Mi, an ordinary office worker, who loses her mobile phone and ha\s to deal with serious consequences when her phone is hacked by Oh Jun Yeong, a psychopathic hacker. The research approach used Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis method and content analysis to identify semiotic elements in the film related to privacy communication ethics, through 3 stages namely denotation, connotation and Myth. The researcher collected 9 scenes from this film that illustrate the violation of Privacy Communication. The results reveal how the film uses visual signs, dialogue, and narration to convey complex messages about individual privacy rights in an increasingly sophisticated digital era. 6 points of privacy violation were found, namely: 1). handing over personal mobile phone user passwords on the grounds of mobile phone repair needs, 2). installation of cameras and illegal applications on mobile phones without permission which are used to stalk daily activities 3). hacking of personal data ranging from home door security codes, ATM PINs to media passwords, 4). entering the hacking victim's home without permission 5). Taking money from other people's ATMs without permission, 6). pretending to be someone else and provoking by uploading false information.

Abstract

The phenomenon of climate change often occurs in certain seasons, causing cyclical changes in climate conditions in an area. Climate change causes the biggest impact is global warming which causes ice and icebergs in polar regions to melt. In addition, this phenomenon also causes storms, extreme weather and changes in rainfall patterns. Through the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency always provides information related to authentic weather forecasts through a series of public communication activities through @infobmkg Instagram posts. The purpose of this study is to analyze the content of public communication related to weather forecasts through @infobmkg Instagram posts. The research method uses a content analysis approach to describe the content of posts by analyzing them. The results of the study show that BMKG actively posts weather forecast information that is useful for the community. The information received by the community can be used as a reference for indoor or outdoor activities and always be alert to potential storms caused by bad weather.

Abstract

The government realizes that the government service system must adapt by using information communication technology that can facilitate all community activities through digital communication. One example of digital transformation in government agencies is the Sihalal application. This application is an application created by the Ministry of Religion to make it easier for UMKM business owners to obtain halal certification, as well as to help accelerate data collection of halal products. The Ministry of Religion through PPH assistants guides UMKM owners to register their products so that they can get halal certificates. The purpose of this study is not only to analyze digital communication, but also to directly analyze the application of digital communication to UMKM owners in Serdang Bedagai Regency related to the process and stages of registering business products in the Sihalal application. This research uses qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. The results of the study found that the digital communication of the Sihalal application with the help of PPH assistants runs effectively, but there are several problem and obstacles that occur in the field such as internet network access and the long distance of PPH assistants' consultations and the registration flow in the Sihalal application which is easy to apply.

Abstract

Advertising is one of the mass communication media in the form of visual, audio, writing, or a combination of audio-visual. As with any communication in general, every advertisement must have an implicit or explicit meaning contained therein which is addressed to the public. Marajan as one of the syrup products in Indonesia, often makes advertisements that are full of meaning with attractive packaging. The purpose of this study is to find out the meaning of the dragon in Marjan 2023 advertisement "Baruna Sang Guardian of the Ocean" by using a qualitative descriptive theory approach and Roland Barthes' Semiotics theory which interprets something based on the denotative and connotative meanings of signifiers, signifieds and signs that exist in an object. The results of this study indicate that the dragon in the ad refers to a social disaster caused by humans who often throw plastic waste into the ocean.

Abstract

The unique and 'wild' lyrical rhetoric loaded and used by Nadin Amizah in the song Rayuan Perempuan Gila seems to create a chain effect that creates a new trend among its listeners. The trend that emerged, where the majority of listeners consciously opened themselves by conveying their shortcomings or declaring themselves as 'crazy women' to their partners or even to the public. Therefore, an analysis of the meaning of the song lyrics was conducted to solve the question "What is the meaning of the rhetoric of the lyrics and how is the representation of women in the song Rayuan Perempuan Gila, Nadin Amizah?" and aims to find out the meaning or rhetoric of the lyrics and the representation of women. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method, using Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutic approach with explanation and understanding model. Based on the analysis that has been done, it is found that the rhetoric of the lyrics of this song is a manifestation of all the author's worries about her partner's love, the author's sincerity reveals her shortcomings and even the author's courage in representing herself as a crazy woman, the author promises to be a better partner and leave all the bad traits of previous relationships. The results of the analysis of the song lyrics above also show the results that the song Rayuan Perempuan Gila, Nadin Amizah represents women as partners who are full of worries about the failure of past relationships to repeat, want to always be given answers and replies to feelings of love, women who are also figures who also have personalities that can make it difficult for their partners.
