Abstract

Orchid are one kinds of highest estetic flower in the international orchid market. The aim of the research is evaluate application of fertilizer and watering Dendrobium undulatum at vegetative phase. This research was conducted at Venus Orchids during April – July 2010 location in Tegalweru village, Dau, Malang. Factorial Randomized Completed Design with three replication. The treatment are: Factor I: Concentration of fertilizer, P1: 1,0 g/l, P2: 1,5 g/l, P3: 2,0 g/l, P4: 2,5 g/l, P5: 3,0 g/l. Factor II: Watering volume, V1: 10 cc/pot, V2: 15 cc/pot, V3: 20 cc/pot. The result showed there is interaction between the usage of leaf fertilizer concentration and water volume on vegetative growth Dendrobium undulatum. There is no significant difference on parameters number of leaf, height of plant, number of root and fresh weight of plant with leaf fertilizer concentration on Dendrobium undulatum at vegetative phase. There significant difference on parameters leaf area, height of plant, and fresh weight of plant with usage water volume on Dendrobium undulatum, on water volume 10 cc/pot showed result better than usage water volume 15 cc/pot, or 20 cc/pot

Abstract

TRAINING ON VEGETATIVE PROPAGATION TECHNIQUES OF ORNAMENTAL PLANTS FOR PKK WOMEN IN BOKOR VILLAGE, TUMPANG, MALANG REGENCY. The Covid-19 pandemic that has hit the world in the last 2 years has harmed all sectors of human life. The Indonesian government issued a policy to reduce the activity and mobility of people outside the house to reduce the rate of transmission of the virus. This policy has hurt the people's economy. Activities that are only in the house environment can increase the potential for stress in the community. One solution to overcome the problems mentioned above is to cultivate ornamental plants in the yard of the house. The trend of ornamental plant cultivation has an impact on increasing the number of requests and prices of ornamental plants and it is directly related to the strengthening of the bargaining position of ornamental plant farming. Activities carried out include observation, training, practice of ornamental plant propagation and assistance, and evaluation. The vegetative propagation techniques used were leaf cuttings, stem cuttings, seedling separation, and a demonstration of grafting activities, which were carried out on 9 of ornamental plant species, namely sansevieria, zamioculcas, little hogweed, aglaonema, iris, carwx morrowii, spider ivy, dracaena, and codiaeum. The results of the activity showed that partner’s knowledge and skills in the vegetative propagation of ornamental plants increased by 19%. The participants were able to reproduce ornamental plants vegetatively well. The percentage of success in growing plants from partner propagation is 71.4-100%.

Abstract

Perkembangan pertanian konvensional memunculkan kekhawatiran akan keberlanjutan sistem pertanian akibat ketergantungan input luar yang mengganggu efisiensi dan efektivitas lahan. Konsep Complex Rice System (CRS) memberikan alternatif pilihan keberlanjutan dari aspek pengelolaan lahan yang lebih terpadu. Mengombinasikan tanaman padi dengan tanaman refugia sebagai tanaman pematang, azola sebagai penambat unsur N, ikan dan itik/bebek untuk pengendali organisme pengganggu tanaman di samping itu kami juga menghitung keuntungan finansial petani. Kami melakukan diseminasi melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat kepada warga dusun Klitik desa wajik Kab. Lamongan di Gapoktan gemah ripah sejumlah 46 petani terlibat dengan luasan mencapai 30 ha dengan menerapkan sekolah lapangan yang dilangsungkan pada Juni-September 2022 di satu musim tanam padi. Kegiatan diawali Survei dan Diskusi Kelompok (FGD) dilakukan sebagai kegiatan awal untuk memahami konteks lokal sistem pertanian padi dan mempersiapkan implementasinya. Kemudian kegiatan CRS berlangsung di ladang petani, berukuran ±1000 m2 dan terdiri dari 2 pengulangan perawatan. Perawatan terdiri dari, monokultur padi dan CRS. Evaluasi terhadap kegiatan dilakukan dengan diskusi kelompok, dan evaluasi terdiri dari peningkatan antusiasme dan keuntungan dari CRS dengan menanam refugia dibanding monoculture. Hasil menunjukkan produktivitas petani yang menerapkan sistem CRS lebih tinggi dibanding produktivitas sebelumnya. Hasil FGD menunjukkan lebih dari 55% petani setuju mengembangkan CRS karena pendapatan yang diperoleh meningkat dan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan hidup petani.
