Researcher tries to find derived words, ending affixes and roots from words in Songs Adele Albums without using statistical calculations. In this study, the author used all words containing prefixes and suffixes as data. The data source is all parts of the word, which are the beginning of the song sung by Adele's album. The result of analyzing the data is that the derived affixes and affixes found in the song Adele album are -er, -en, -ing, -ly, -ment, -ness, -ness as suffixes, and the affixes are -d, -s, -ed, -ing, -es, -er, -est. By understanding the roots, readers can construct words themselves.

Abstract

The study is mainly aimed at exploring the Sufistic phenomenon presented in Tejo and Kamba’s book Tuhan Maha Asik by applying deconstructive analysis. Besides, this study also finds out the hidden philosophical meaning revealed in the opposite expression in the book as recommended by Derrida. In this context, deconstruction is concerned not with the discovery of ‘truth’ or of distilling correct conclusions, but rather with the process of questioning itself. It is a process characterized by uncertainty and indeterminacy. It is interesting to explore and reveal the internal logic of ideas and meaning. Tejo and Kamba succeeded in using paradox as a weapon to reveal the truth of thinking from two opposite points on the book. Two contrasting ideas are used to produce an in-depth truth. The characteristics or style of deconstruction in works of Sufism are discussed specifically from what is written on book. From the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that many statements in the book Tuhan Maha Asik describe the phenomenon of God. This characterizes that this book presents many events that are Sufistic in nature. The quotations displayed to prove that this understanding must continue to be evaluated in order to create depth and self-awareness of God's existence.

Abstract

Parents play an important role in the character-shaping of their children, and it is mostly processed during the parent-child interaction. Children can be deeply influenced at home in terms of mother tongue, ideology, habit, or personal behavior. Hence, parent-child reading activity has been used as a popular mode that offers an opportunity to affect children purposely. However, many parents are confused about the way to interact with their children, either verbally or not. This study tries to look into this problem by observing a real case. The conversation between a parent and a child is audio recorded, transcribed, and analyzed. The result shows that equal power distribution can be found in this particular case, and there are two identities that the child can find herself, i.e., teacher and student. In addition, the mother adopts a number of strategies to help fulfil her expectation, such as reading material selection, teaching ideological lessons, child’s language development, evoking imagination, and praising strategy. The findings may provide implications for parents who are confused about how to interact with their children properly and effectively.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the implementation of online English learning in tourism schools in Bali, focusing on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with its execution. Employing a qualitative research approach, the study involved four English lecturers from four different tourism schools in Bali. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and literature reviews. The analysis revealed that online English learning was conducted using the English for Specific Purposes (ESP) framework, tailored to the tourism and hospitality sectors. The implementation involved various platforms, including Zoom Meeting, WhatsApp, and other digital tools. Strengths identified included the flexibility of time and space, allowing both lecturers and students to access learning materials from any location at any time. The availability of diverse online platforms provided lecturers with the ability to customize their teaching methods effectively. However, weaknesses covered technical issues, including inadequate devices and unstable internet connections, posed significant challenges. The study also highlighted the opportunities presented by the increasing digital literacy of students and the proliferation of online learning platforms, which facilitated a more interactive and engaging learning experience. Nonetheless, threats included low public awareness, particularly among parents, and varying levels of digital proficiency among lecturers, which impacted the overall effectiveness of online instruction. The findings underscore the need for enhanced support structures and training to optimize online English learning in tourism education.
