Abstract

Licensing is one of the main things that must be owned by people who want to establish MSMEs in Indonesia. There are several types of licensing that must be taken according to the type of MSME you want to establish. More and more detailed permits are usually owned by food and cosmetic MSMEs because they are directly related to consumer health. Meanwhile, for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) permits can only be issued by districts or cities and must submit a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP). It is hoped that this regulation will provide the business community with protection, legal certainty, assistance, and ease of access to financing through banking and non-banks. Since 2018, the implementation of the Online Single Submission System (OSS) still often encounters various obstacles, for example from the number of business actors who come to apply for permits, not all of them have completed obtaining business and commercial permits. Some who register only get a Business Identification Number (NIB), a study on the role of legality on the competitiveness of MSME’s  and the policies that support it are very important to do, especially in cities or districts that still lack knowledge of these problems, for this reason this research was carried out by taking 30 saturated samples from the agribusiness SME community in the city of Serang, Banten province. Quantitative analysis was performed using the PLS method. The results show that legibility does have an effect on increasing the competitiveness of SMEs by 34.07%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine compensation moderating the influence of service quality of educational staff on student satisfaction at Serang Raya University. The form of research used is descriptive and quantitative research. Descriptive research is a form of research that aims to describe existing phenomena, both natural phenomena and man-made phenomena. The population in this study were 100 educational staff respondents and 100 student respondents at Serang Raya University. Then, data processing used the SmartPLS 4.0 application. The results showed that the interaction of compensation variables had a positive but insignificant effect on service quality of 0.184 with a p-value of 0.063 (> 0.05 ) . The interaction of service quality variables had a significant positive effect on student satisfaction of 0.915 with a p- value of 0.000 (<0.05) and the interaction of compensation variables in moderating service quality on student satisfaction had a positive but insignificant effect of 0.048 with a p-value of 0.373 (> 0.05). The study was conducted at only one institution (University of Serang Raya), so the findings may not be generalizable to other organizations. The findings of this study have the potential to lead to the development of a new theoretical framework that incorporates the moderating effect of compensation on the relationship between service quality and student satisfaction. This framework can provide a more comprehensive understanding of how compensation affects student satisfaction in educational settings.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of human resource management (HRM) in enhancing the effectiveness of zakat institutions in developing countries. Zakat, as a mandatory form of almsgiving in Islam, has significant potential for poverty alleviation and social equity, yet its impact is often hampered by organizational inefficiencies, talent shortages, and governance challenges. Through qualitative research methods, including semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis, the study identifies key themes such as the integration of Islamic principles into HRM practices, challenges in talent acquisition and development, the impact of digital transformation, and the importance of leadership in zakat management.Findings reveal that while many zakat institutions are striving to align HRM practices with Islamic values, significant gaps remain in areas such as employee training, leadership development, and the adoption of digital tools. The study emphasizes the necessity for standardized HRM frameworks that incorporate ethical considerations, targeted recruitment strategies, and robust training programs to equip employees with the necessary skills. Additionally, it highlights the critical role of effective leadership in fostering a culture of accountability and transparencUltimately, this research underscores the importance of strategic HRM in maximizing the potential of zakat as a tool for social equity and poverty alleviation. The study offers practical recommendations for policymakers, zakat managers, and researchers, aiming to facilitate the development of more effective, transparent, and sustainable zakat institutions that contribute to economic justice in Muslim-majority countries.

Abstract

This study investigates the dual impact of teacher competence on student academic performance and the development of leadership qualities in Senior High Schools and Vocational High Schools in Kabupaten Serang, Banten Province. Using a qualitative research approach, data were collected through interviews, focus groups, and classroom observations involving teachers and students. The findings reveal that teacher competence encompasses not only mastery of subject matter and pedagogical skills but also emotional intelligence and leadership modeling. Competent teachers create supportive and participatory learning environments that enhance both academic achievement and leadership development among students. The research highlights that effective teachers are those who not only deliver content but also engage students in meaningful ways, fostering a sense of belonging and motivation. This engagement is crucial, as it encourages students to take ownership of their learning and develop critical thinking skills. Furthermore, the study identifies that teachers who model leadership behaviors—such as ethical decision-making, effective communication, and collaboration—significantly influence students' perceptions of leadership and their willingness to adopt similar traits. However, challenges such as limited access to professional development and resource constraints affect the full realization of teacher competence. Many teachers express a desire for ongoing training and support to enhance their skills, yet systemic barriers often hinder their professional growth. The study underscores the need for comprehensive teacher development programs and policy support to improve educational outcomes holistically. These insights are valuable for educators, policymakers, and school administrators aiming to foster academic excellence and leadership skills in students. By prioritizing teacher competence and providing the necessary resources, schools can create an environment that not only promotes academic success but also prepares students to become effective leaders in their communities.
