Abstract

This study aims to determine the dynamics of moral reasoning among adolescents who take part in the Islamic mentoring program in Banda Aceh. This study used a case study qualitative approach involving six research subjects from 3 high schools in Banda Aceh who had participated in Islamic mentoring for more than one year. The data collection methods used was interviews, observation and FGD. The data analysis used is thematic analysis. The results of this study shows that the moral reasoning of six research subjects has been at the level of post conventional moral reasoning, social contract orientation stage of legality and moral orientation with universal ethical principles. Dynamic moral reasoning in the six subjects is formed from several factors, namely religious education from parents, religious education in schools especially the mentoring programs, curriculum and mentoring implementation methods, length of time for implementing mentoring, mentoring environment, and continuity of mentoring or length of time following mentoring.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Edukasi praktek menyikat gigi di TK juga dapat menjadi sarana penting untuk mengajarkan anak-anak tentang peran makanan dalam menjaga kesehatan gigi. Anak-anak sering kali mengonsumsi makanan manis yang berpotensi menyebabkan karies. Melalui edukasi, mereka diajarkan untuk membatasi konsumsi makanan yang tinggi gula dan menjaga pola makan yang sehat untuk mendukung kesehatan gigi. Dengan upaya edukasi dan demontrasi menyikat gigi dapat membantu anak-anak usia TK memahami dan mempraktikkan teknik yang tepat secara langsung dan meningkatkan minat anak dalam merawat kebersihan gigi dan mulut, serta memperkuat kebiasaan menyikat gigi secara rutin. Tujuan Kegiatan : untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan pengetahuan masyarakat, khususnya anak-anak dan, tentang pentingnya menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut secara teratur. Program ini bertujuan untuk membangun kebiasaan menyikat gigi yang benar, mengajarkan teknik menyikat yang efektif, serta mendorong penggunaan pasta gigi berfluorida sebagai langkah pencegahan terhadap karies dan penyakit gusi. Metode Pengabdian : Peningkatan pengetahuan dan pendekatan yang efektif dan partisipatif. Hasil Kegiatan : Hasil pengabdian masyarakat terkait praktik menyikat gigi pada anak-anak TK menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan kebiasaan menjaga kesehatan gigi. Setelah diberikan edukasi dan demonstrasi menyikat gigi yang benar, 90% anak mampu memahami dan menjelaskan teknik yang tepat, dibandingkan dengan hanya 40% sebelum program dilaksanakan. Selain itu, kebiasaan menyikat gigi anak-anak juga mengalami perbaikan. Sebelumnya, sebagian besar hanya menyikat gigi satu kali sehari atau tidak teratur, namun setelah program, 85% anak melaporkan bahwa mereka mulai rutin menyikat gigi dua kali sehari. Observasi juga menunjukkan bahwa 80% anak mampu menerapkan teknik menyikat gigi yang lebih baik, termasuk membersihkan seluruh area gigi secara menyeluruh. Kata kunci : Menyikat, Gigi, Anak Background: Education on toothbrushing practices in kindergarten can also be an important means to teach children about the role of food in maintaining dental health. Children often consume sweet foods that have the potential to cause caries. Through education, they are taught to limit consumption of foods high in sugar and maintain a healthy diet to support dental health. With efforts to educate and demonstrate toothbrushing, it can help kindergarten children understand and practice the right techniques directly and increase children's interest in maintaining dental and oral hygiene, as well as strengthen the habit of brushing teeth regularly. Activity Objectives: to increase public awareness and knowledge, especially children and, about the importance of maintaining dental and oral health regularly. This program aims to build the habit of brushing teeth correctly, teach effective brushing techniques, and encourage the use of fluoride toothpaste as a preventive measure against caries and gum disease. Community Service Method: Increase knowledge and an effective and participatory approach. Activity Results: The results of community service related to toothbrushing practices in kindergarten children showed a significant increase in knowledge and habits of maintaining dental health. After being given education and demonstration on proper tooth brushing, 90% of children were able to understand and explain the proper technique, compared to only 40% before the program was implemented. In addition, children's tooth brushing habits also improved. Previously, most only brushed their teeth once a day or irregularly, but after the program, 85% of children reported that they started to routinely brush their teeth twice a day. Observations also showed that 80% of children were able to apply better tooth brushing techniques, including cleaning all areas of the teeth thoroughly.Keywords: Brushing, Teeth, Children
