Abstract

Air pollution has a significant impact on lung health, especially for groups of workers who are directly exposed to pollution, such as traffic police. This study aims to evaluate the effect of air pollution on Malondialdehyde (MDA), Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), and lung function levels in traffic police in Banjarbaru City. The method used was observational analytic with a cross-sectional research design. This study involved two groups, namely traffic police and non-traffic police, with a purposive sampling technique. The subjects involved totaled 80 people, divided into 40 traffic police and 40 non-traffic police, with the criteria of traffic police who have worked for at least 5 years. Serum MDA and SOD levels and pulmonary function assessment using spirometry were performed in both groups. The results showed that MDA levels in traffic police were higher (184.75 ± 14.5 µM) compared to non-traffic police (178.4 ± 3.4 µM), while SOD levels in traffic police were lower (1.06 ± 0.384 units) compared to non-traffic police (1.22 ± 0.3 units). In addition, Forced Vital Capacity (FVC) and Forced Expiratory Volume in one second (FEV1) values in traffic police were lower, while the FEV1/FVC ratio showed no significant difference. Air pollution has a significant effect on increasing MDA, decreasing SOD, FVC, and FEV1 in traffic police. It is recommended to reduce air pollution exposure in this group through stricter pollution control policies and the use of respiratory protective equipment.

Abstract

This research examines the development of Flipbook learning media paired with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model in improving grade V IPAS learning outcomes. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). the research subject used 19 fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Singorojo, Kendal Regency. The results of the student pretest and posttest, the average score of the small group was 46.6 and the subsequent test was 93.3. The average score of the large group test was 43 and the final score was 92.5. The results in this study concluded that flipbook media is very feasible to use in the learning process in social studies lessons and is able to improve the social studies learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Singosari Kendal Regency.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran komik digital guna meningkatkan hasil belajar sejarah perumusan Pancasila pada siswa sekolah dasar. Proses penelitian mengikuti model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahap: (1) analisis potensi dan masalah, (2) desain produk, (3) pengembangan produk, (4) uji coba produk, dan (5) evaluasi/perbaikan produk. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket kebutuhan guru dan siswa, validasi ahli media dan materi, serta uji coba kelompok kecil dan besar. Analisis data menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis instrumen penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran komik digital ini sangat layak digunakan, terbukti melalui validasi ahli dan uji coba pada kelompok kecil serta kelompok besar besar. Implikasi penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya penggunaan media pembelajaran inovatif guna meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi yang dianggap sulit dan membosankan.

Abstract

Laboratory utilization is very important to support learning. The laboratory is very useful for measuring the standards of science and theory. Theoretical learning and practicum in the laboratory are integral activities in the teaching and learning process. This study aims to describe and find a laboratory readiness solution for the Department of Primary School Teacher Education, Faculty of Education, Semarang State University which supports the implementation of e-learning. The research variables were the completeness of laboratory facilities, laboratory governance system of the Department of Primary School Teacher Education, lecturer and technical management, and users of the Laboratory of Primary School Teacher Education Study Program. The subjects of this study were lecturers, students of the Department of Primary School Teacher Education. Data items through questionnaires, observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive. The results showed the level of satisfaction of students and lecturers as laboratory users. This also illustrates the problems that often occur in managing laboratories of the Department of Primary School Teacher Education. Integrated laboratories at the Department of PGSD FIP Semarang State University have a dual role in the fields of education, research and community service, although the three are still in a sufficient category. Integrated laboratory management requires special management that is different from laboratory management in the field of study

Abstract

This study was conducted to obtain an overview of students’ learning interest and learning motivation in the Asian Cuisine course among 2024 cohort students of the Culinary Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Surabaya during their third semester. This study is grounded in the limited availability of empirical research that specifically examines learning interest and motivation in skill-based courses within Culinary Education, particularly the Asian Cuisine course, which is practical in nature and rooted in culinary culture. The study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive design and involved 189 students as respondents using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through learning interest and learning motivation questionnaires that had met reliability criteria. The data were analyzed descriptively using mean scores and category distributions. The results indicate that students’ learning interest was in the high category, with a mean score of 3.78 and a percentage of 69.8%, while learning motivation was also categorized as high, with a mean score of 3.65 and a percentage of 62.4%. The novelty of this study lies in its presentation of empirical evidence that specifically describes students’ learning interest and motivation in the Asian Cuisine course within the context of Culinary Education, which can serve as a basis for developing more contextual, relevant, and quality-oriented instructional strategies in vocational culinary education.

Abstract

In the Teaching Materials Development course at the Culinary Arts Education Study Program, Surabaya State University, learning still focuses on product outcomes and has not yet developed students' 21st-century skills in a planned manner. As a result, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication (4C) skills have not developed optimally. This study aims to examine the effect of implementing Project-Based Learning on improving students' 4C skills. The study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design on third-semester class D students. 4C skills data were collected through questionnaires before and after project-based learning, then analyzed using normality tests and paired sample t-tests. The results showed a statistically significant increase in 4C skills (p < 0.05), so Project-Based Learning was proven effective in supporting the development of 21st-century competencies in vocational education students

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi tenaga pengelola Kossuha Catering dalam pengolahan makanan yang higienis dan sesuai standar produksi di Sidoarjo. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, kuesioner, dan penilaian praktik pengolahan makanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata skor pengetahuan hygiene tenaga pengelola sebesar 3,78, praktik hygiene 3,62, dan konsistensi penerapan standar produksi 3,76, sehingga rata-rata keseluruhan ketiga variabel adalah 3,72, yang termasuk kategori Sangat Baik. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa tenaga pengelola tidak hanya memahami prinsip-prinsip hygiene dan standar produksi, tetapi juga mampu menerapkannya secara konsisten, meskipun masih ada ruang untuk penyempurnaan praktik. Kebaruan dari kegiatan ini terletak pada pelatihan praktik yang dikombinasikan dengan pengukuran kuantitatif, sehingga dapat mengevaluasi kesiapan tenaga pengelola secara objektif. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah peningkatan kompetensi tenaga pengelola, penerapan prosedur hygiene secara konsisten, peningkatan kualitas dan keamanan pangan, serta mendukung keberlanjutan usaha katering
