Abstract

Many processes in the industry that were originally done by humans are now being replaced by machines. This community service is focused on helping SMEs to collect aluminum beverage cans. The purpose of this service is for the efficiency of human labor and the effectiveness of the completion time of the can pressing process. The service of this lecturer is to plan, manufacture, and test semi-automatic press machines to automate the movement of press machines. The method in designing this machine is an observation and observation study. From the design carried out, a semi-automatic pressing machine is produced, with the following specifications with a compressive power capacity of 150 kg. The electric motor used has a power of 0.5 PK and a rotation of 1400 rpm. Productivity has increased by 550%, before being pressed one box holds 36 cans, after being pressed it can accommodate 198 cans.

Abstract

Surabaya locomotive warehouse is one part of the company PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) as a place to store spare parts for repair and maintenance purposes, especially locomotives. The implementation of these inspections and repairs, of course, requires spare parts to facilitate the maintenance process which generally spare parts are placed in storage or warehouses. The problem in the Surabaya locomotive warehouse is that the arrangement of spare parts for bin boxes for each type of group is not always fixed so that the search becomes a bit hampered. This study aims to review the repair of bin box spare parts placement on a regular basis by using the First-In First-Out (FIFO) approach to sort bin box spare parts based on their movement flow. Based on the results of the analysis, the classification of bin boxes in each type of spare parts rack group based on the flow of movement in sequence is fast moving, medium moving, and slow moving. In the fast moving spare parts bin boxes are placed on the bottom row of shelves, bin boxes that have medium moving spare parts are placed on the second and third rows of shelves. Meanwhile, bin boxes that have slow-moving spare parts will be placed on the top shelf. After classifying the spare parts in the bin box, an addressing area is made on each row of the rack to determine the location of the spare part position.

Abstract

Company X is a manufacturing company integrated with production segments ranging from spinning, weaving, dyeing, and finishing. The company has contributed to advancing the Indonesian textile industry as an important element in the domestic production sector. However, during the production process defects often occur or the results of goods that are not in accordance with company standards often occur. The purpose of this research is to identify the causes of defects, as well as to form priority recommendations for improvement with the aim of maintaining product quality according to company standards. Data analysis applied in this study uses the Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA) method. The results of this study indicate that there are 7 types of defects with the highest frequency, namely colour spots/chemical defects which are the priority for improvement in the quality system. There are 9 failure modes with the highest RPN, namely 360 in the imperfect Drug Dissolution Failure Mode. There are 5 factors that cause defects and suggestions for improvements to each problem in these factors.

Abstract

In the era of economic digitalization, global business and industry competition is very tight and moves fast. Fashion, trends, and innovations are growing vigorously so that all business and industry players continue to increase their productivity in all fields. The increase in productivity is in line with the company's efforts to increase profits along with optimal product and service quality to consumers. However, efforts to increase it will be hampered by several aspects of waste, this is what is felt by small and medium business actors such as SBRC Furniture which is engaged in the production of carving frames. This research aims to identify various wastes that occur by changing them through the Kaizen method to provide constructive notes to increase business productivity.

Abstract

The study of performance is incredibly fascinating. One of them is the way in which mid-level management functions as both a conduit for information to top management and the person in control of subordinates. This study aims to enhance the coordinator of the industrial department's performance. This study's data processing and analysis procedure employs a qualitative approach by carrying out an analysis using the TNA (Training Need Analysis) method. At electromotor engine repair service firms in East Java, this method is used to assess the variables that contribute to delays in the completion of repairs of goods as well as the kind of training provided to coordinators to prevent delays in the completion of repairs of goods. The outcomes show in the study, it was discovered that the absence of effective communication between division coordinators in the industrial department, skill gaps, and workers who are not suited for the job are the main causes of delays in the completion of goods. Because the percentage is still low for corporate performance and still less productive, the performance value in each division, such as industrial repair, is 6.1%, vacuum pump 6.6%, blower 6.2%, fabrication 7.4 and rewinding 7.5% to complete the items.
