Abstract

Abstract: The objective of research was to know the effect of learning models on mathematics learning achievement viewed from the student learning style. The learning models compared were TAPPS, TAI and classical with scientific approach. This research used the quasi experimental method. The population was the students of junior high school in Surakarta regency on academic year 2014/2015. The tecnique of taking sample was stratified cluster random sampling. The size of the sample was 291 students. The instruments used were examination test and learning styles test. The proposed hypothesis were analyzed using the unbalanced two-way analysis of variance. The conclusions were as follows. 1) TAPPS with scientific approach have better mathematics achievement than TAI and classical with scientific approach, TAI and classical with scientific approach have the same achievement. 2) auditory students have better mathematics achievement than visual and kinesthetic students, visual and kinesthetic students have the same achievement. 3) In TAPPS with scientific approach, auditory students have better achievement than visual students, kinesthetic studentshave the same achievement as visual and auditory students. In TAI with scientific approach, auditory students have better achievement than visual and kinesthetic students, visual and kinesthetic students have the same achievement. In classical with scientific approach, auditory students have the same achievement as visual and kinesthetic students, visual students have better achievement than kinesthetic students. 4) In visual students, TAPPS with scientific approach have the same achievement as TAI and classical with scientific approach,  classical with scientific approach have better achievement than TAI with scientific approach. In auditorial students, TAPPS and TAI with scientific approach have the same achievement, TAPPS and TAI with scientific approach have better achievement than classical with scientific approach. In kinesthetic students, TAI with scientific approach  have the same achievement as TAPPS and classical with scientific approach, TAPPS with scientific approach have better achievement than classical with  scientific approach.Key words: TAPPS, TAI, classical, scientific approach, learning styles, achievement of learning.

Abstract

Abstract: The purposes of this study was to determine the effect of the learning models on the learning achievement in Mathematics viewed from the sosial skill of the students. The learning models compared were the cooperative learning model of the Think Talk Write (TTW) type with scientific approach, Think Pair Share (TPS) type with scientific approach, and classical model with scientific approach.The type of this study was a quasi-experimental study with a 3x3 factorial design. The study population were all of grade VII students of Junior High School in Kabupaten Semarang. Instruments used for data collection were mathematics achievement test and sosial skill questionnaire. The proposed hypotheses of the research were analyzed by using the two way analysis of variance with unbalanced cells. Based on the hypothesis testing it can be concluded as follows. (1) Students’ learning achievement treated by TTW learning model with scientific approach are better than students treated by TPS model with scientific approach and classical learning model with scientific approach. In addition to, students’ learning achievement treated by TPS model with scientific approach are better than students treated by classical learning model with scientific approach. (2) Students’ learning achievement who have high social skill are better than students who have moderate and low social skill. Furthermore, students who have moderate social skill are better than students who have low social skill. (3) In high, moderate, and low social skill category, students learning achievement treated by TTW model with scientific approach are better than student who treated by TPS learning model with scientific approach and classical learning model with scientific approaching. Asides from that, students learning achievement are treated by TPS learning model with scientific approach are better than students who treated by classical learning model with scientific approach. (4) In TTW learning model with scientific approaching, TPS with scientific approach and classical learning with scientific approach, students learning achievement who have high social skill are better than students who have moderate and low social skill. Moreover, students who have moderate social skill are better than students who have low social skill.Keywords: Think Talk Write (TTW), Think Pair Share (TPS), Scientific Approach, Student Social Skill.

Abstract

Abstract: This aim of the research was to know the effect of learning models on mathematics achievement viewed from the student emotional intelligences. The learning model compared were TGT, TAI and direct learning. The type of the research was a quasi-experimental. The population was all of student seventh grade of junior high school in Magetan regency on academic year 2013/2014. The sampling technique by using a stratified cluster random sampling. The size of the sample was 252 students with 85 students as experimental class I, 86 students as experimental class II, 81 students as control class. The data collections were taken by document, questionnaire and test method. Hypothesis testing was performed by using an unbalanced two way analysis of variance. The conclusions of  the research were as follows: (1) TGT learning model give better mathematics achievement than TAI and direct learning model, TAI learning model give an equal mathematics achievement to direct learning model, (2) the high level emotional intelligence students have an equal mathematics achievement to the middle level emotional intelligence students, the high level emotional intelligence students have better mathematics achievement than the low level emotional intelligence students, the middle level emotional intelligence students have better mathematics achievement than the low level emotional intelligence students, (3) for the high level emotional intelligence students, TGT, TAI and direct learning models give the same mathematics achievement, for the middle level emotional intelligence students, TGT learning model give the same mathematics achievement as TAI and direct learning model, direct learning model give better mathematics achivement than TAI learning model, for the low level emotional intelligence students, TGT learning model give the same mathematics achievement as TAI learning model, TGT learning model give better mathematics achievement than direct learning model, TAI learning model give the same mathematics achievement as direct learning model, (4) on the TGT and TAI learning models, students in each level of emotional intelligence have the same mathematics achievement, for student with direct learning model, the high level emotional intelligence students have the same mathematics achievement as middle and low level emotional intelligence students, the middle level emotional intelligence students have better mathematics achievement than low level emotional intelligence students.Keywords: Teams Games Tournaments, Team Assisted Individualization, direct learning, emotional intelligence.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of the research was to know the effect of learning models on mathematics learning achievement viewed from the student Adversity Quotient (AQ). The learning models compared were the cooperative learning model of the Group Investigation with scientific approach (GI-S), the cooperative learning model of the Think Pair Share with scientific approach (TPS-S), and model of classical learning with scientific approach (K-S). The type of the research was a quasi experimental research with the factorial design of 3 x 3. The population were all students of Junior High School in Bantul regency on academic year 2014/2015. The samples of  the research were taken by using the stratified cluster random sampling. The instruments used were mathematics achievement test and questionnaires of AQ. The hypotheses of the research were analyzed by using the two-way analysis of variance with unbalanced cells at the significance level of . The results of the research are as follows. 1) GI-S gives better mathematics achievements than TPS-S, and both gives better mathematics achievements than K-S. 2) Students with AQ type of climber have better mathematics achievements than students with AQ type of camper and type of quitter, while students with AQ type of camper have better mathematics achievements than students with AQ type of quitter. 3) For GI-S and TPS-S, students with AQ type of climber and type of camper have the same mathematics achievements, and students with AQ type of climber and type of camper gives better mathematics achievements than students with AQ type of quitter. For K-S, students with AQ type of climber have better mathematics achievements than students with AQ type of camper and type of quitter, and both have the same mathematics achievements. 4) For students with AQ type of climber and type of quitter, GI-S, TPS-S, and K-S gives the same mathematics achievement. For students with AQ type of camper, GI-S and TPS-S gives the same mathematics achievements, and both gives better mathematics achievements than K-S.Keywords: GI, TPS, Classical, Scientific Approach, AQ
