Abstract

Antibacterial activity using silver nanoparticles synthesized using Murraya Paniculata (L) rinds extract has been carried out. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of green synthesized silver nanoparticles using Murraya Paniculata (L) rinds extract. Silver nanoparticles were synthesized by reacting AgNO3 with water extract of the Murraya Paniculata (L) rinds. Green synthesized silver nanoparticles were tested for antibacterial activity using Escherichia coli ATCC 8739. Silver nanoparticles synthesized using Murraya Paniculata (L) rinds extract were characterized using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer to confirm the formation of silver nanoparticles. The UV-Vis spectrophotometer results showed the formation of silver nanoparticles which was indicated by an absorption around 400-450 nm. The antibacterial activity test results of silver nanoparticles showed a strong inhibitory activity. Keywords: Green Synthesis, Silver Nanoparticles, Antibacterial, Echerichia Coli

Abstract

This study aims to determine the immunomodulatory activity of lemongrass essential oil on the proliferation of mouse lymphocyte cells in vitro. The method used is steam distillation to obtain citronella essential oil. Isolation of lymphocyte cells was obtained from the spleen organ of Swiss-Webster strain mice which was carried out aseptically. The lymphocyte cell proliferation test was carried out using the MTT Assay method and the absorbance was measured using an ELISA reader at 550 nm. The results showed that the lemongrass essential oil contained positive alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and steroids/triterpenoids with an essential oil yield of 0.043%. The higher the volatile oil concentration, the higher the Optical Density (OD) value obtained, but the OD increase at a 50 to 100 g/mL concentration was not significantly different. In conclusion, lemongrass essential oil has immunomodulatory activity against lymphocyte cell proliferation in mice tested in vitro. Abstract

Waste from tourism activities in the village of Rindu Hati can reduce the quality and sustainability of the environment. The purpose of this program is to empower the target community in managing waste into something of use and even economic value. Organic waste if left to decompose naturally without being processed will cause a bad smell and disturb the aesthetic view. For this reason, LOF (Liquid Organic Fertilizer) is the right choice organic waste management solution. Besides not spoiling the aesthetic view, LOF can be used to fertilize any plants around the Rindu Hati Village Area. This program is carried out with the stages of socializing the types of waste, training in organic waste management into LOF and assisting and empowering the community in LOF production. Participants in the POC training are women farmer groups (KWT) in Rindu Hati Village and managers of Tourism Villages. After conducting socialization, training and mentoring, it was found that the level of knowledge and skills of the community increased. This is evidenced by the success of the community in making LOF with a fermented fragrance and no bad smell. The target community is given composter and other materials to maintain the sustainability of the program.

Abstract

Tenaga kesehatan wajib menggunakan standar keselamatan yaitu penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD) dalam bentuk face shield  untuk mencegah penularan dari dan ke petugas kesehatan  dan pasien membutuhkan alat pelindung diri. Keteersediaannya yang terbatas mendorong masyarakat untuk berkontribusi aktif membuat APD berupa face shields. Pelatihan Pembuatan face shields  menggunakan metode demonstrasi dan metode pembuatan terbimbing. Hasil pengabdian dalam bentuk pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini telah berhasil melatih anggota masyarakat sebagai perintis pembuatan face shields. Kemampuan dan keterampilan para perintis face shields  sangat baik  ditunjukkan oleh  kemampuan membuat 30 unit face shields  yang telah  dikontribusikan kepada petugas kesehatan di Puskesmas Babatang Kecamatan Sukaraja Kabupaten Seluma.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan pengawetan telur ayam ras dengan perendaman ekstrak daun jambu biji (Psidium guajava) pada suhu ruang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui umur simpan telur ayam dan mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak daun jambu biji dan lama waktu perendaman pada pengawetan telur ayam ras. Kadar ekstrak daun jambu biji divariasikan mulai dari 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, dan 50%. Lamanya perendaman telur ayam ras dalam larutan daun jambu biji divariasikan dari 1 jam, 3 jam, 5 jam, dan 1 hari. Lama penyimpanan telur ayam ras selama 21 hari. Telur yang telah diawetkan dengan ekstrak daun jambu biji merah (Psidium guajava) dianalisis untuk menentukan pH telur, nilai haugh unit (HU) telur dan nilai IKT. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi konsentrasi ekstrak daun jambu biji maka semakin bagus digunakan sebagai pengawet telur ayam ras. Semakin lamanya perendaman telur ayam ras pada ekstrak daun jambu biji juga mempengaruhi kualitas telur.
