Abstract

To win the market competition, companies must have segmenting, targeting, positioning strategy and pricing strategy. This study aims to determine segmenting, targeting, positioning strategy as well as the company's pricing strategies on Kecap Blekok Company in Cilacap. Methods of data collection in this study using interviews and documentation. The analysis technique used is descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed market segment of Kecap Blekok Company is the lower middle class, the chosen target market is segment concentration or a single market, Kecap Blekok Company is positioned on the lower middle class with high quality. For the pricing strategy is employed by Kecap Blekok Company using cost plus pricing method to set the selling price.

Abstract

Quality control is important thing to be done by a company to minimize the defective product. Companies can analyze product defects by using six sigma method, by formulating Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC) that occurred. The purpose of this study was to determine how the quality control using six sigma method is applied in a manufacturing company. The results showed that company which became the research object has an average of 0.34% product defects, it means that its cost of poor quality is less than 1% of sales. This shows that the company has reached six sigma, which means that the company actually has done a very good quality control. Based on this research, recommendation that can be given are the company needs to put quality control at every stage of the production process, train the workforce, conduct the quality contracts with suppliers so that supplied materials have excellent quality and provide an adequate storage (warehouse) to maintain the material quality.

Abstract

The presence and role of the entrepreneur can have an impact on the improvement of economic conditions and the progress of a country. For that, students of Economics and Business Faculty in UKSW who concentrate entrepreneurship are directed to join various entrepreneurship programs in order to foster entrepreneurship interest among students. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of independent attitudes, motivation, entrepreneurship knowledge on entrepreneurship interests of students on entrepreneurship concentration. The sample of this research is saturated sample, that is population amount equal to number of sample. Respondents are students of entrepreneurship concentration amounting 33 people from 2010-2013. The results of this study indicate that the independent attitude and motivation variables do not affect entrepreneurship interest, while the entrepreneurial knowledge variables affect student entrepreneur interest.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain the CSR activities conducted by Marimas Putera Kencana related to the development of social entrepreneurship, to describe the value chain model for corporate entrepreneurship, and the impact of social entrepreneurship development through CSR activity. An explorative study approach was undertaken in this study by conducting semi-structured interviews at the Marketing Division of Marimas Putera Kencana, the target group, and the shop owners involved in the CSR program. The results of this study show the stages of CSR activities of Marimas Putera Kencana which include planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting and value chain model for social entrepreneurship to realize business goals without overriding social values. In addition, the impact of social entrepreneurship development through CSR activities is the enhancement of environmental capacity and capability, creating leadership in the development of corporate social entrepreneurship, creating environmental protection, organizational transformation for social improvement, refreshing and promoting CSR development, awakening a positive reputation, and organizational commitment to continuously behave ethically.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors that trigger and inhibit regional entrepreneurship and the development of regional entrepreneurship networks in terms of the economic environment, cultural environment, regulatory environment, business environment, and support environment. Data analysis techniques used descriptive statistics, where data were obtained from distributing questionnaires to 100 batik entrepreneurs in the Tegal batik cluster and the Klaten batik cluster. The results of this study indicate the factors that triggered regional entrepreneurship in the Tegal and Klaten batik clusters, including the desire to invest, the desire to be creative, the desire to have autonomy, the desire to have status, the desire to have wealth, and market opportunities. The factors that become obstacles to regional entrepreneurship in the Batik Tegal and Klaten Clusters are fierce of competition, risk and cost. The development of regional networks of entrepreneurship in the Tegal batik cluster is supported by the economic environment, regulatory environment, and business environment, while in the Klaten batik cluster, it is supported by the cultural environment, business environment, and support environment.

Abstract

Human being as spiritual being needs to be nurtured spiritually so that they can be optimal in their work and their calling. Actualization of this calling can be made through entrepreneurship. The purpose of this study is to determine the importance of spiritual dimensions (vision, faith/hope, love altruistic, meaning/calling, membership) in the development of entrepreneurship (entrepreneurship intention, entrepreneurial networking, entrepreneurial capability, and entrepreneurial success). The analysis technique of this study uses multiple linear regressions with a sample of 67 graduates of Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) who have had and run their own business. The results show that the spirituality dimensions (vision, faith/hope, altruistic love, meaning/calling, membership) significantly influence entrepreneurial intention, entrepreneurial networking, entrepreneurial capability, and entrepreneurial success. When it is tested partially, the significant positive effect on entrepreneurial intention is vision and faith/hope. Faith/hope also has significant positive effects on entrepreneurial networking. Vision, faith/hope, and meaning/calling has significant positive effects on entrepreneurial capabilities. Lastly, faith/hope, and meaning/calling has significant positive effects on entrepreneurial success.

Abstract

High growth rate of savings will increase the rate of investment in Indonesia and encourage the economic growth of a nation. But according to the survey conducted by Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK), people is still have a low understanding of the use of financial products including savings. It is also shown on the position of the savings that experienced declining growth from 2009-2013, especially in Central Java Province. Students as the academic community are expected to have a good understanding on the choice of investment and consumption so that students can contribute to the economic growth of Indonesia. Several of previous studies showed that financial literacy, socialization of parents, peers influence, and self-control have a significant positive effect on student savings behavior. The purpose of this study is going to reexamine the results of previous studies with a sample of 221 students of FEB in Satya Wacana Christian University. The results showed that financial literacy, socialization of parents, peers influence, and self-control simultaneously have a significant effect on savings behavior. Partially, financial literacy, socialization of parents, and self-control have a positive significant effect on savings behavior of students, but peers influence have no significant effect.Abstrak Tingkat pertumbuhan tabungan yang tinggi akan meningkatkan laju investasi di Indonesia dan mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi suatu bangsa. Survei yang dilakukan oleh Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK), menunjukkan orang masih memiliki pemahaman yang rendah mengenai penggunaan produk keuangan termasuk tabungan. Hal ini juga ditunjukkan oleh posisi tabungan yang mengalami pertumbuhan menurun dari 2009-2013, terutama di Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Mahasiswa sebagai civitas akademika diharapkan memiliki pemahaman yang baik pada pilihan investasi dan konsumsi sehingga mahasiswa dapat berkontribusi terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia. Beberapa penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa melek finansial, sosialisasi orang tua, pengaruh rekan-rekan, dan kontrol diri memiliki efek positif yang signifikan terhadap perilaku tabungan mahasiswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menguji kembali hasil penelitian sebelumnya dengan menggunakan sampel sebanyak 221 mahasiswa FEB Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melek finansial, sosialisasi dari orang tua, pengaruh rekan-rekan, dan kontrol diri secara bersamaan memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap perilaku tabungan. Secara parsial, melek finansial, sosialisasi dari orang tua, dan kontrol diri memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan positif terhadap perilaku tabungan mahasiswa, tetapi pengaruh rekan-rekan tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan.

Abstract

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is entrepreneurs’ obligation to be socially responsible so as to create values for the community, one of which is through social entrepreneurship. The CSR and social entrepreneurship form a corporate social entrepreneurship which can strategically provide a balance between the economic value and social value among various stakeholders. This study aims to determine stages of implementation of corporate social entrepreneurship and development of Business Model Canvas to run the corporate social entrepreneurship in Sido Muncul partnership program with Parang Gupito Farmer Group. The results show that the stages of implementation of corporate social entrepreneurship in Sido Muncul partnership program in Parang Gupito include problem identification and need analysis, resource allocation and coordination, network building, intensive mentoring, sustainable innovation, getting business partners, and performance assessment. The value proportion of the Sido Muncul partnership program in the Business Model Canvas for the Parang Gupito Farmer Group includes knowledge and skills about agriculture, agricultural product innovation, marketing and distribution, tourism services, product standardization, as well as price and market guarantee that have an impact on increasing the farmers’ welfare.

Abstract

Desa Gedong di Kecamatan Banyubiru, Kabupaten Semarang merupakan desa yang memiliki potensi keunikan dan daya tarik wisata yang khas, berupa karakter fisik lingkungannya maupun kehidupan sosial masyarakatnya. Tujuan program perancangan paket wisata Desa Gedong ini adalah untuk memudahkan para calon wisatawan dalam melakukan suatu kegiatan wisata dan memudahkan para calon wisatawan dalam menentukan tempat yang akan dikunjungi di Desa Gedong. Selain memiliki daya tarik tersendiri, Desa Gedong juga memiliki fasilitas yang mendukung keberlangsungan program paket wisata, antara lain berupa: tempat penginapan, transportasi, dan ruang interaksi dengan warga sekitar. Program pembuatan paket wisata ini, juga ditindaklanjuti dengan simulasi pengunjung untuk mempersiapkan gambaran tentang kegiatan yang akan dilakukan. Pariwisata Desa Gedong memiliki empat pilar yaitu pengelolaan destinasi pariwisata berkelanjutan, pemanfaatan ekonomi untuk masyarakat lokal, pelestarian budaya bagi pengunjung dan masyarakat, serta pelestarian lingkungan.

Abstract

Studies on sustainable tourism villages (STV) development highlighted the role of community-based tourism (CBT) and social entrepreneurship (SE). Previous studies mostly focused on com­mu­ni­ty and social entrepreneurship but neglected tourism management, which became the research gap of this study. The aim of this study was to investigate the contributions of CBT, SE, and tourism management in sustaining a tourism village. This study used a qualitative method, so the data were collected through focus group discussions and in-depth interviews with key players of Kaki Langit Mangunan Tourism Village, Yogyakarta. The results showed that the involvement and integration of CBT and SE were crucial in achieving STV. Finally, STV also required professionalism in ma­na­gement.
