Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) menganalisis beberapa karakteristik lingkungan perairan yang mempengaruhi akumulasi logam berat timbal dalam tubuh kerang darah (Anadara granosa) di perairan pesisir timur Sumatera Utara, melalui sidik regresi berganda (multiple regression analysis), 2) mereduksi data melalui sidik komponen utama (principal component analysis) untuk mengurangi biaya monitoring pencemaran logam berat timbal di masa mendatang, dan 3) menganalisis lokasi perairan yang memiliki karakteristik yang sama dalam akumulasi logam berat timbal melalui sidik gerombol (cluster analysis). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui laju nitrifikasi dan bakteri yang paling efektif membentuk nitrat dalam biodegradasi limbah tambak udang. Percobaan dilakukan dengan 6 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan dengan media percobaan limbah tambak biasa dan limbah tambak steril. Hasil percobaan memperlihatkan bahwa semakin tinggi kadar OSS dalam media percobaan, laju nitrifikasi semakin rendah, tetapi populasi mikroba nitrifikasi semakin tinggi. Laju nitrifikasi berkisar antara 0.0059 – 0.0089 ppm/hari, dengan laju tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan T2 (kadar TSS 200 ppm, OSS 147.30 ppm, amonia 0.22 ppm) dan terendah pada perlakuan T0 (kadar TSS 100 ppm, OSS 58.20 ppm, amonia 0.19 ppm). Bakteri nitrifikasi yang paling efektif membentuk nitrat dalam media percobaan adalah Nitrococcus sp. untuk perlakuan T0 dan T1, Nitrospira sp.untuk perlakuan T2 dan T3, dan Nitrobacter sp. untuk perlakuan T4 dan T5. Dalam media limbah tambak steril, laju nitrifikasi setiap jenis bakteri berkisar antara 0.0039 – 0.0069 ppm/hari dengan tingkat efektivitas rata-rata 72.02%. Bakteri yang paling efektif membentuk nitrat dalam biodegradasi limbah tambak udang adalahNitrospira marina.Kata Kunci: biodegradasi, limbah tambak udang, nitrifikasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengestimasi daya dukung lingkungan pesisir Kabupaten Serang untuk pengembangan budidaya tambak berdasarkan laju biodegradasi limbah organik tambak di perairan pesisir. Laju biodegradasi OSS adalah 10.78 ppm/hari untuk perlakuan T0 (kontrol), 14.24 ppm/hari untuk perlakuan T1 (TSS 100 ppm, OSS 58.08 ppm), 12.75 ppm/hari untuk perlakuan T2 (TSS 200 ppm, OSS 145.72 ppm),11.34 ppm/hari untuk perlakuan T3 (TSS 300 ppm, OSS 234.22 ppm), 9.38 ppm/hari untuk perlakuan T4(TSS 400 ppm, OSS 321.86 ppm), dan 8.40 ppm/hari untuk perlakuan T5 (TSS 500 ppm, OSS 410.35 ppm). Dengan musim tanam udang 2 kali dan laju biodegradasi OSS 14.76 ppm/hari, daya dukung maksimum lingkungan pesisir Kabupaten Serang untuk budidaya tambak udang adalah 1 090.55 ha untuk tambak intensif,2 220.82 ha untuk tambak semi intensif, dan 12 595.07 ha untuk tambak tradisional plus. Kombinasi optimum luas tambak yang sesuai dengan potensi lahan tambak adalah 149.16 ha (13.6%)tambak intensif, 975.61 ha (42.6%) tambak semi intensif, dan 5 875.23 ha (43.8%) tambak tradisional plus.Kata kunci: daya dukung, budidaya udang, biodegradasi, zona pesisir.

Abstract

Perkembangan pariwisata di Indonesia mengalami pertumbuhan yang  cukup  baik.  Pada  tahun  2016,  sektor  pariwisata  menjadi  penyumbang  devisa terbesar kedua dibawah Crude Palm Oil (CPO). Indeks Daya Saing Pariwisata Indonesia menurut World Economy Forum (WEF) menunjukkan adanya kenaikan peringkat Indonesia pada tahun 2015 di peringkat 50 dan pada tahun 2017 di peringkat 48. Sarana dan prasarana yang memadahi merupakan salah satu fokus pemerintah guna memajukan sektor pariwisata.  Kebijakan pemerintah untuk membangun Jalan Tol Kuala Tanjung – Tebing Tinggi – Parapat di   Provinsi Sumatera Utara adalah salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan    potensi    pariwisata,    yaitu    Danau    Toba.    Taman    Hewan    KotaPematangsiantar (THPS) sebagai salah satu objek pariwisata di Provinsi Sumatera Utara harus mampu menghadapi segala perubahan yang ada, baik dari sisi internal maupun eksternal agar dapat memahami kondisi lingkungan dan strategi yang tepat untuk diimplementasikan. Jenis penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara serta dokumentasi. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah Matriks IFE, Matriks EFE, Matriks IE, dan Matriks QSPM.Hasil  penelitian  menunjukkan  bahwa  Taman  Hewan  Kota  Pematangsiantar(THPS) berada pada posisi di atas rata-rata dan mampu mengatasi kelemahan dengan mengoptimalkan kekuatan yang dimiliki dan mampu merspon peluang dengan mengatasi segala ancaman yang ada. Dengan melakukan analasis Matriks QSPM didapatkan strategi yang  paling  baik  untuk  diimplementasikan,  startegi  tersebut  adalah  strategi pengembangan produk Kata   Kunci   :   Pariwisata,   Lingkungan   Internal,   Lingkungan   Eksternal,   Strategi Pengembangan, Matriks IFE, Matriks EFE, Matriks IE, Matriks QSPM.

Abstract

Indonesia the outbreaks of disease in red spotted fish is caused byA.hydrophila bacteria. Many efforts have been made by the experts to address thisoutbreak by both giving vitamins and giving probiotics and antibiotics. However aprolonged uncontrolled usage and improper dosage may lead to negative impactsto the species. Thus, the use of medicinal plants or fitofarmaka is a solution toovercome these problems. This research aims to know the effectiveness ofFrangipani leaf extract (Plumeira rubra) on the growth of bacteria A. hydrophilaand to determine the minimum dose of Frangipani leaf extract necessary to inhibitthe growth of bacteria. The research was conducted at Laboratory of FishQuarantine, Quality Control and Fisheries Product Safety Level I, Medan I. Theresearch used a completely randomized experiment method with 6 treatmentlevels and 3 replications. The research shows that, the Frangipani leaf extractdoses has highly significant effect on the growth of bacteria A .hydrophila, andthe minimum dose to inhibit the bacteria is 2 % with a clear zone diameter of 6.4mm.Key words : Effectiveness , Frangipani leaf extract, A. hydrophila

Abstract

The aims of study were to determine the diversity of macrozoobenthos and to analize the relationship of water quality parameters (temperature, pH, DO, BOD5) to diversity index of macrozoobenthos in Lake Toba , Village Haranggaol, Haranggaol Horisan Subdistrict, Simalungun District. Observations had been carried out three times in three locations, and each location sampling was conducted three replications. Regression analysis was used to determine the correlation of water quality parameters to diversity index of macrozoobenthos. Based on the research obtained that macrozoobenthos diversity index ranged from 1.53 to 1.90, uniformity index ranged from 0.82 to 0.95, the population density ranges from 332 to 645 ind/m2 and relative density ranged from 99.95 to 99.98 %. Regression analysis showed that the correlation coefficient (R) of 0.710 indicates that the relationship between water quality against the relatively strong macrozoobenthos diversity index and the coefficient of determination (R2) obtained at 0.505.Keywords: Diversity, Lake Toba, Macrozoobenthos.

Abstract

Bingai River is a river which flow through the Binjai City, with length 15 km and large 150 km² in North Binjai area. The research aims were to know the community structure and relation of physical-chemical waters factors to periphyton community structure in Bingai River, Binjai City, North Sumatera. The research had been conducted in July to Agustus 2014. The research used Purposive Random Sampling method. Sampling was performed three times in three observation stations. Physical-chemical parameters and biological observed were temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, brightness, current, nitrates, phosphates, diversity and abundance of periphyton. Based on the result obtained at three stations to consist of 34 genus divided to 3 class, that was Bacillariophyceae (23 genus), Chlorophyceae (8 genus), and Cyanophyceae (3 genus). Periphyton with the highest result in station 1 was Frustulia and the lowest result was Closterium, in station 2 the highest result was Navicula and the lowest was Terpsinoe, Skeletonema, Microspora, Fragilariforma, Oscillatoria, and Cosmarium, in station 3 the highest result was Navicula and the lowest was Terpsinoe. Periphyton Diversity (H´) ranged from 2,38 − 2,70. Abundance ranged from 10.136 − 30.216 ind/cm². Temperature averaged 28°C, pH ranged from 7,35 − 7,45, DO ranged from 4,65 − 4,75 mg/l, brightness ranged from 42,5 − 60 cm, current ranged from 0,15 − 0,21 m/det, nitrate ranged from 2,1 −2,55 mg/l, phosphate ranged from 0,18 − 0,25 mg/l. According to Diversity Index (H´) and physical-chemical factors Bingai River categorized as lightly polluted water.Keywords : Periphyton, Community Structure, Diversity, Abundance, Bingai River.

Abstract

River ecosystems is very important for human life because provide water for human activities such as agriculture, fisheries, industry and domestic. Community activities of agricultural and sand mining activities in the River Ular can be a source of water pollutant that which affect on water quality parameters of physics, chemistry and biology. Water had been studied and compared to the Quality Standard Government Decree No.82 of 2001 by using Storet method. The research was conducted in June 2014 through August 2014 along the River ular from Deli Serdang district boundary to the mouth of the river ular in Muara Pantai Indah. Measurement of water quality parameters was done at 3 stations with 3-point decision. The method used in the determination of water quality sampling station was purposive random sampling. River Ular water quality parameters based on chemicall physics with methods storet showed polluted water to moderate polluted condition. The highest a bundance of plankton found at agricultural area sand the lowest at estuary area. Plankton diversity index values was moderate, low uniformity and there is not dominant species. River Ular water quality based water quality standards according to Regulation No.82 of 2001can be utilized for the fish farming and agriculture to the designation of class III and IV.Keywords: Water quality parameter, Standards Regulation, Storet Method, River Ular

Abstract

Percut river is one of the rivers that flow in Deli Serdang which release into Malaka Straits. The objective of the research were to determine the macrozoobentos community structure and relation of chemical and physical parameters of water to diversity index and family biotic index of macrozoobentos in Percut River, Deli Serdang Regency. The research was conducted by using purposive random sampling method in four stations and four times sampling period on July until August. Physical and chemical parameters observed were temperature, flow rate, turbidity, TSS, pH, DO, BOD5, TOM and substrat structure. Based on the research was found 12 genera of macroozoobenthos as Branchiura, Tubifex, Penaeus, Scylla, Anadara, Melanoides Thiara, Elimia, Pleurocera, Filopaludina, Nerita dan Pila. The highest density was obtained at around of domestic area of 88.1 ind/m2 and the lowest density at around of agricultural area of 51 ind/m2. The highest diversity index of 1.683 (moderate) was obtained at around of fish landing area, and the lowest diversity index of 1,263 (moderate) was obtained at around of domestic area. Abstract

River Bingai is used variety of human activities that may increase water pollution which effect on the biological, chemical and physical of water. The objective of the research are to determine the macrozoobenthos and its related to chemical and physical parameters. The method used in this research is purposive sampling where river waters Bingai used as a research location. Based on the research was found 3 classes and 7 genusses of macrozoobenthos in waters of River Bingai, West Binjai Subdistrict. The gastropods was the most abundance in the river. Index of species diversity showed lower value that means water quality was moderate.
