Abstract

Kelas eksperimen mendapatkan pembelajaran Make a Match berbantu Wordwall, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode konvensional.

Abstract

This activity aims to explore and improve the collaborative skills of students at SMA Kristen 1, Salatiga with class XII IPA students as participants. The data collection technique used a collaborative skills observation sheet with indicators 1) working productively; 2) being responsible; 3) respecting other students and; 4) compromising. The data analysis technique used the percentage of collaborative skills. In photosynthesis learning, students with collaborative skills in the exemplary category reached 14 people (19.4%), proficient 47 people (65.3%), basic 9 people (12.5%), and novice only 2 people (2.8%). In mitosis learning, students who had collaborative skills in the exemplary category were only 9 people (12.5%), proficient 52 people (72.2%), basic 8 people (11.1%), and novice only 3 people (4.2%). In the aspect of working productively in photosynthesis learning, the novice category reached 8 people (11.1%), while in mitosis learning the novice category was only 2 people (2.8%). In the aspect of being responsible for photosynthesis, the novice category reached 9 people (12.5%), while in mitosis learning, the novice category was only 4 people (5.6%). Furthermore, in photosynthesis learning in the aspect of flexibility and compromise, the novice category reached 8 people (11.1%), while in mitosis learning the novice category was only 7 people (9.7%). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that there has been an increase in the number of students who are increasingly skilled in collaborating with students.

Abstract

The Classroom Action Research (CAR) training for Science and Biology teachers in Salatiga aims to enhance pedagogical competence through a research-based approach. The implemented activities adopted a collaborative-participatory model, involving eight teachers through three main stages: (1) a joint needs identification with the local teachers' working group (MGMP), (2) intensive training across four interactive sessions, and (3) continuous mentoring. The training methods combined the presentation of conceptual material (CAR framework, data collection techniques), hands-on proposal drafting practice, and simulations on using research tools like Mendeley for reference management. Evaluation results indicated positive outcomes, with 100% of participants rating the facilitators as highly competent and 87.5% stating the material was presented clearly. However, a need for deepening practical aspects was identified, as 12.5% of participants still experienced difficulties in application. Thematic analysis of the feedback revealed three main recommendations: (a) increasing the portion of case-based learning activities using real examples, (b) developing applied biology-based modules, and (c) integrating technology such as digital microscopy in advanced training. The program's success is reflected in 80% of participants' ability to design relevant CAR proposals during the training, and the establishment of an online learning community for post-activity mentoring. These findings emphasize the importance of a teacher training model that combines applicable theory, intensive mentoring, and technological support, particularly to bridge the gap between academic research and classroom practice.

Abstract

Lesson study is a teacher collaborative approach to professional development. Lesson study is a model for fostering educator professionalism through collaborative and continuous learning assessments based on collegial and mutual learning principles to build learning communication. The aim of this research is to get an overview of science teachers' knowledge about lesson study as a professional inquiry approach in learning. Surveys of lesson study activities carried out by teachers can help to understand the characteristics of professional learning through effective lesson study and the extent to which teachers carry out and are involved in the lesson study process. The research was conducted in Salatiga, Central Java, Indonesia. This research method uses quantitative descriptive. The data collection technique uses a survey using a questionnaire as an instrument consisting of 70 statements from seven categories regarding lesson study. Respondents were science teachers selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis uses percentage techniques. Based on a survey conducted on science teachers regarding the implementation of lesson study, it is known that there are 5% of respondents who have never heard of lesson study, 30% of respondents have never been involved in lesson study activities, and there are around 40 % of respondents who have never carried out lesson study activities in teaching. Based on the seven categories of lesson study asked to teachers who have carried out lesson study in learning, it is known that there are still teachers who have weak motivation to improve the quality of learning, there are still science teachers who do not understand how to implement lesson study and how to use time in lesson study. Apart from that, it was found that science teachers still had a weak understanding of the benefits of lesson study in increasing teacher collaboration, the benefits of lesson study in improving the quality of teaching and learning, and there were still science teachers who did not understand how lesson study was started.
