Abstract

This study aims to determine the difference in understanding of the concept and effectiveness of the use of Joyful learning model by taking into account the Noting Domain Problem. This research is a quantitative research using quasi experimental design. The research sample is class VIII D using joyful learning model, and class VIII E using conventional model, which is chosen by purposive sampling. Technique that use for collecting understanding data is using written test, observation, and documentation. Hypothesis test using independent sample t test. The results showed that the use of Joyful learning model with attention to domain problems experienced show a significant increase and more effective than the conventional model of concept understanding. Joyful learning model effective approve of 0,04 < 0,05 (significant level 0.05) concluded that Joyful learning model is more effective than conventional learning model.

Abstract

This research aims to improve cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning outcomes through using animation based on macromedia flash. The subjects of classroom action research were 20 students, 11 male students and 9 female students from class VIII Christian Middle School 4 Salatiga. The study was conducted for 2 months in the 2017/2018 school year with 4 meetings. Measurements on cognitive learning outcomes, used instruments in the form of learning outcomes tests with 25 items, affective and psychomotor domains using questionnaire and observation sheets. Data processing and analysis used is description analysis. The percentage gain in the pre-cycle is 25% and the percentage of student learning completeness is obtained in the first cycle with a percentage of 52.9%. Furthermore cognitive learning outcomes also increased in the second cycle to 82.3%. The increase in the percentage of students 'completeness with an average of 53.4% indicates that there is a change and an increase in students' cognitive learning outcomes from the pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle IIAffective learning outcomes in the first cycle had a achievement of 55%, the acquisition of affective aspects in the first cycle still had not achieved the expected completeness, namely the standard score of 70%. However, in the second cycle the affective aspect achieved a percentage score of 78%. While the psychomotor aspects in the first cycle were 53%, increasing up to 75% in the second cycle with completeness of ≥75%.

Abstract

Abstract, Active learning in school (ALIS) is one of the learning models that can be applied by teachers to improve students’ achievement. This study aims to determine the implementation of ALIS indicator on biology subject at senior high school in Salatiga and to know the factors that influence it. This is a descriptive qualitative research and the data was collected using  questionnaires, observation, interview, and documentation technique. The objects of study were 156 students and 5 biology teachers at five senior high schools in Salatiga. The results showed the percentage of ALIS indicators from low level to high were: learning to encourage students to interact multidirectional (60.42%); using the environment as a medium and learning resources (64.94%); maintaining the learning environment (65.81%); learning encourages student to think at high level (66.11%); student-centered learning (66.91%); there are feedback on student work (70.47%); monitoring the learning process by teacher (71.04 %); contextual learning (73.63%); learning model accommodate different learning style (75.71%). Biology teachers in Salatiga have been implementing ALIS but there are some factors influence it which include lack of time to study with so many subject materials, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and the students’ unfamiliarity with the application of active learning.Keywords: ALIS, active learning, biology teaching and learningAbstrak, Active learning in school (ALIS) merupakan salah satu pilihan model pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan oleh guru dan memberikan dampak positif kepada siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan indikator ALIS pada mata pelajaran biologi sekolah menengah atas (SMA) di Salatiga dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Obyek penelitian adalah 156 siswa dan 5 guru biologi yang tersebar di  lima Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) kota Salatiga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase keterlaksanaan indikator ALIS dari tingkat rendah ke tinggi adalah: pembelajaran mendorong siswa untuk berinteraksi multiarah (60,42%), pembelajaran penggunaan lingkungan sebagai media dan sumber belajar (64,94%), adanya penataan lingkungan belajar (65,81%), pembelajaran mendorong anak untuk berpikir tingkat tinggi (66,11%), pembelajaran berpusat pada siswa (66,91%), adanya umpan balik terhadap hasil kerja siswa (70,47%), pemantauan proses belajar oleh guru (71,04%), pembelajaran terkait dengan kehidupan nyata (73,63%), pembelajaran mengakomodasi gaya belajar yang berbeda-beda (75,71%).Guru biologi di Salatiga telah melaksanakan ALIS, namun terdapat beberapa hambatan antara lain: keterbatasan waktu dengan tuntutan banyaknya materi, terbatasnya sarana dan prasarana, dan belum terbiasanya siswa menerapkan pembelajaran aktif.

Abstract

Hasil analisis yang dilakukan dalam kajian ini adalah tema sistem pencernaan manusia dalam ruang lingkup Makhluk Hidup dan Proses Kehidupan untuk tingkat Sekolah Dasar dengan Standar Kompetensi 1.Mengidentifikasi fungsi organ tubuh manusia dan hewan, dan Kompetensi Dasar 1.3 Mengidentifikasi fungsi organ pencernaan manusia dan hubungannya dengan makanan dan kesehatan. Pencapaian pembelajaran tingkat Sekolah Dasar sampai pada mengenal dan mengidentifikasi struktur sistem pencernaan manusia (mulut, kerongkongan, lambung, usus halus, usus besar, rektum dan anus) (C1: Faktual), Memahami struktur sistem pencernaan manusia (mulut, kerongkongan, lambung, usus halus, usus besar, rektum dan anus (C2: Konseptual); Mengaitkan hubungan antara organ pencernaan, makanan dan kesehatan) (C3: Konseptual). Sementara untuk tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama tema pembahasan pada KD 1.4 mendeskripsikan sistem pencernaan pada manusia dan hubungannya dengan kesehatan dengan masing-masing indikator terdiri atas mengetahui gangguan pencernaan makanan (C1: Faktual), mengetahuai proses pencernaan makanan dari mulut hingga anus (C2: Konseptual), menjelaskan proses pencernaan makanan dari mulut hingga anus (C3: Konseptual), menganalisis Menganalisis hubungan antara organ-organ sistem pencernaan dan makanan serta kesehatan (misal: mulut: gigi (memecah makanan), lidah (membantu menelan), usus halus: menyerap makanan, anus (mengeluarkan sisa makanan) (C4: Prosedural), Menyimpulkan proses pencernaan makanan dari mulut hingga anus serta hubungannya dengan kesehatan (C5: Konseptual).

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membahas literasi sains melalui implementasi pembelajaran sains dan potensi guru dalam mengintegrasikan literasi sains tersebut. Perencanaan kegiatan-kegiatan melalui percobaan dalam sains adalah upaya mencapai perbaikan literasi sains yang selama ini belum terjamah. Pengajaran dalam mata pelajaran IPA harus memberikan pengalaman langsung melalui kegiatan observasi menggunakan indera misalnya dalam bentuk mengidentifikasi, membuat keputusan, dan menyimpulkan yang berkaitan dengan interaksi dengan sains, lingkungan, teknologi, dan masyarakat. Integrasi literasi sains dalam pembelajaran sains dapat memperhatikan indikator-indikator literasi sains. Unsur-unsur literasi sains dalam mata pelajaran IPA yaitu: (a) merumuskan indikator literasi sains dalam suatu kompetensi dasar, (b) memasukkan aspek literasi sains dalam pokok bahasan, (c) mengemas literasi sains dalam silabus dan RPP. Evaluasi aspek kognitif berbasis literasi sains dapat memperhatikan kriteria: (1) soal bersifat luas, (2) disajikan dalam bentuk data-data serta muatan informasi, (3) ada keterkaitan konsep (4) menganalisis permasalahan serta memberi pernyataan dalam bentuk alasan pada saat menjawab pertanyaaan, (5) ada variasi dalam penyajian soal, (6) berbasis aplikasi yang berkaitan dengan isu-isu sains, lingkungan, teknologi, dan masyarakat. Manfaat dari proses integrasi literasi sains bagi guru mata pelajaran IPA adalah agar muatan materi IPA yang disajikan oleh guru dapat memunculkan aspek literasi dengan mengembangkan soal dengan karakteristik sains yang mencakup konten, proses dan aplikasi. Simpulan dari kajian ini adalah proses integrasi yang dilakukan mencakup tentang analisis komponen literasi sains melalui pengintegrasian kompetensi dasar pada mata pelajaran IPA dan dimuat dalam perangkat pembelajaran IPA sebagai scenario pembelajaran yang dapat diaktualisasikan di kelas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui perbandingan antara program internasional dan reguler terhadap ketercapaian ujian akhir dari peserta didik di SMP Kristen Kalam Kudus Surakarta.Hasil ujian nasional Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) dari tahun 2012-2017 digunakan untuk membandingkan kedua program berdasarkan uji statistik Mann-Whitney sebagai dasar pengambilan keputusan. Selain itu, dilakukan analisis faktor yang mempengaruhi ketercapaian hasil belajar yang meliputi: sarana prasarana, kompetensi profesional guru, dan ketercapaian kurikulum didapatkan melalui angket yang diberikan kepada guru IPA dan observasi. Berdasarkan uji Mann-Whitney, nilai P uji kedua kelompok ini sebesar 0.005 (sig. < 0.05) dari rata-rata program internasional yaitu 81.45 yang lebih besar dibandingkan rata-rata program reguler yaitu 78.32. Perbedaan hasil belajar tersebut dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor seperti sarana prasarana, kompetensi profesional guru, dan ketercapaian kurikulum. Program internasional cenderung lebih baik pada ketiga faktor tersebut dibandingkan program reguler meskipun ketercapaian nilai UN IPA antar tahun pelajaran dari program internasional menunjukkan tren menurun apabila dibandingkan dengan tren program reguler yang cenderung meningkat. Analisis terhadap faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil belajar menunjukkan bahwa sarana prasarana, kompetensi professional guru, dan ketercapaian kurikulum akan mempengaruhi ketercapaian pembelajaran peserta didik.Kata kunci : program kelas reguler, program internasional

Abstract

Environmental awareness has becoming a critical value to be integrated among youth. This research aimed to analyze the implementation of students’ environmental awareness of Christian Junior High School 2 in Salatiga by creating bottle garden in school. This research was descriptive qualitative which was conducted in the second semester of academic year 2017/2018 and involved 47 students. The data collection techniques used were questionnaire and observation. The implementation of environmental awareness was measured based on the New Ecological Paradigm theory with five main indicators, namely: 1) anti-exemptionalism, 2) anti-anthropocentrism, 3) limits to growth, 4) balance of nature, and 5) eco-crisis. The results showed that by learning through bottle garden activities, students have reached a good understanding of eco-crisis, anti-exemptialism, balance of nature, anti-anthropocentrism, and limit of growth in which the value were 3.35; 3.11; 3.2; 3.19; and 3.14 respectively (3.21 ≤ score <3.73). This means that the students have possessed a ‘good’ level of environmental awareness.

Abstract

Regarding 21st-century learning, scientific literacy is an important competency which must be owned by students. Nevertheless, scientific literacy of Indonesian students has been recognized in low level. This study aimed to describe students’ scientific literacy in Bryophyta topic using problem-based learning. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) used the Kemis & Mc.Taggart research design. This study involved 30 students of X graders in Kristen Satya Wacana Senior High School. Students' scientific literacy was measured using a test which comprised of 15 MCQs and 5 essay questions. The data obtained was analyzed using N-gain score. The results indicated that students' scientific literacy was improved from cycle 1 (45.20) to cycle 2 (65.59) as they learnt about Bryophyta. The use of PBL in learning Bryophyta accommodates students' activities to promote their scientific literacy. Scientific activities in PBL strongly support the development of students' scientific literacy.

Abstract

This research aimed at 1) developing and producing feasible free inquiry lab-based students’ worksheet to increase the dimension in students’ science literacy process and 2) examining the effectivity of free inquiry lab-based students’ worksheet in increasing the dimension in students’ science literacy process. This research was conducted using research and development method. The students of XI MIPA SMA Kristen 1 Salatiga were the subject of this research. This research was conducted in the first semester of 2018-2019 academic year. The validation questionnaire and students’ response, the observation sheet of dimension process and learning model implementation, and science literacy question sheet were the research instrument covered in this research. The hypothesis test was conducted using paired-sample t-test. The result of this research revealed that 1) the developed free inquiry lab-based students’ worksheet was feasible based on the assessment result from the professional validator with the average 80.19% and the students’ response was very good towards the worksheet with the assessment average 82.49%. 2) The free-inquiry lab students’ worksheet was effective in increasing students’ dimension in science literacy process in plant tissue topic, which was supported with the average of students’ dimension of science literacy process 87.71% (very good) and the students’ N-Gain was 0.7 (very good). It was proved by the paired samples t-test statistic test with the result 0.00 < 0,05, therefore H0 was rejected, or in the other words, the free inquiry lab-based students’ worksheet was effective in increasing the dimension in science literacy process.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan motivasi dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas VIII SMP Kristen 4 Salatiga T.A 2017/2018 melalui penggunaan model inkuiri berbantuan macromedia flash. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan desain Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart dengan dua siklus. Masing-masing siklus memiliki empat tahapan: rencana, tindakan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Kristen 4 Salatiga yang berjumlah 20 siswa. Indikator keberhasilan yang menunjukan keberhasilan dari sebagai berikut: 1) terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif siswa yang memperoleh nilai di atas KKM sebanyak 70%, 2) terjadi peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa setelah menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan macromedia flash sebesar 60% dengan kategori baik. Hasil siklus 1 menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa sebesar 37% atau 6 siswa saja yang mengalami peningkatan motivasi dengan kategori baik. Pada hasil belajar kognitif siswa yang sudah mencapai KKM ada 7 siswa tetapi masih ada 10 siswa yang belum mencapai KKM dan dengan kategori peningkatan yang rendah. Siklus kedua berdasarkan dari indikator keberhasilan dianggap sudah berhasil. Hal ini terlihat berdasarkan indikator keberhasilan pada aspek motivasi yaitu sebesar 61%. Sementara ketercapaian hasil belajar kognitif siswa yaitu 82% atau sekitar 14 siswa yang tuntas KKM.  Kata Kunci : Inkuiri Terbimbing, Macromedia Flash, Motivasi, Hasil BelajarAPPLICATION OF GUIDED INKUIRI ASSISTED MACROMEDIA FLASH TO INCREASE MOTIVATION AND LEARNING OUTCOMES OF CLASS VIII STUDENTS ON HUMAN BLOOD CIRCULATION SYSTEM MATERIAL IN SMP KRISTEN  4 SALATIGAAbstract            This research aims to increase motivation and learning outcomes through guided inquiry learning model assisted macromedia flash on VIII grade students of SMP Kristen 4 Salatiga  in academic year 2017/2018. This type of research is a Classroom Action Research designed Kemmis and Mc. Taggart which conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four phases: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subject was VIII grade students in SMP Kristen 4 Salatiga 3 that included 20 students. Indicators that show the success of the following: 1) improvement of cognitive learning outcomes of students who scored above the KKM by 70%, 2) the improvement of students' learning motivation after using guided inquiry model assisted macromedia flash with 60% achievement with good category. The result of cycle 1 indicates that there is an increase of students' learning motivation by 37% or 6 students who have improved motivation with good category. Cognitive learning outcomes of students who have reached KKM there are 7 students but there are still 10 students who have not reached KKM and with the category of low increase. The second cycle based on the success indicator is considered successful. based on success indicator on aspect of motivation that is equal to 61%. But the achievement of students' cognitive learning achievement is 82% or about 14 students who complete the KKM. Keywords: Guided Inquiry, Macromedia Flash, Motivation, Learning Outcomes
