Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the hypothetical model and analyze the effectiveness of the use of teaching materials. The research design used in this study is research and development. The study was conducted in elementary schools in the District Diponegoro Force Gringsing Batang with research subjects fourth-grade learners at three elementary schools SDN Yosorejo, SDN Krengseng 2, and SDN Sidorejo 1. Sources of research data derived from the expert of experts, education professionals, and learners, The data collection method used measurement scales and tests. Teaching materials developed using seven syntax contextual learning model that integrates seamlessly with the theme of learning various jobs. The results of product validation by expert gets an average value of 3.34 with a percentage of 83.58%. It shows that the product of teaching materials in this study deserves to be tested further. The results showed that an increase in outcomes after using the instructional materials with N-Gain test results on a limited scale trial of 0.55 with category and 0.50 on the results of the use of teaching materials are also categorized as moderate.

Abstract

The family is the first place for children to gain knowledge. The concept of early childhood education within the family is children’s first education. Therefore family should act as their tutor to make them a high-quality person and grow by their age stages. This study aims to analyze parent’s involvement and parenting in children’s daily life. This parenting model is an actual effort made by the parent to improve children’s learning activities. This parenting model is implemented in the school environment to encourage children to be independent and ready to pursue their education. This study employed a qualitative phenomenological approach and collected the data from observation, interviews, and several documents. The result showed the occurrence of democratic parenting model, in which parents let their children express themselves freely but with certain limitations. Active collaboration between parents and schools through parenting activities in school is proved to be beneficial for both to assess the growth of children in school and children became more engaged in school activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the teacher's understanding of authentic assessment, analyze the process of applying authentic assessment, identify teacher problems in applying authentic assessments and the efforts of teachers and principals to address teacher problems in applying authentic judgments. The type of research is qualitative research and phenomenological research design. The subject from this study were grade IV teachers and the elementary school principals in Serang Subdistrict. Data collection techniques used are structured interview methods, observation, and documentation. The technique of checking the validity of the data uses source and method triangulation techniques. Data analysis techniques carried out during the study include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that the teacher  understanding of authentic assessment was good but not maximal, the teacher used the assessment instrument in accordance with the guidelines in Curriculum 2013, the application of authentic Public Elementary School in Serang Subdistrict had gone well, but some things were still constrained, teacher problems in applying authentic assessment, teacher efforts are questioned and answer with colleagues, seeking information from other sources, following the data update  and workshops, training and training using computer. The principal's efforts are as follows: understanding the difficulties of the teacher, finding examples of appraisal applications, finding friends to explain, giving the assessment manual giving supervision to the teacher and giving evaluations to the teacher.
