Abstract

Purpose: To determine the effect of decreasing blood glucose levels in white rats using a combination of meniran and rosella compared to glibenclamide. Method: This research was carried out experimentally. Simplicia of meniran leaves and rosella macerated using 80% ethanol. The research used 21 rats that were induced by alloxan and divided into 7 groups and all compared using glibenclamide.Group 1 (negative control) CMC Na 1%, group 2 (positive control) glibenclamide dose 0.45 mg/kgMB, group 3 single roselle extract dose 130 mg/kgMB, group 4 single meniran leaf extract dose 200 mg/kgMB, group 5 combination of meniran leaf extract dose of 100 mg/kgMB and rosella extract dose of 65 mg/kgMB, group 6 combination of meniran leaf extract dose of 200 mg/kgMB and rosella extract dose of 130 mg/kgMB, and group 7 meniran leaf extract combination dose 400 mg/kgMB and rosella extract dose 195 mg/kgMB. Result: The results showed that rats had hyperglycemia after being induced by alloxan.Data were analyzed using one way ANOVA method followed by LSD and tukeys' B post hoct test. Having a difference in the decrease in blood glucose levels between the positive control group and the five doses of meniran extract and rosella gave a significant effect compared to the negative control group did not have a significant effect in reducing blood glucose levels. Conclusion: Single meniran extract and high-dose combination extract are more effective than glibenclamide.

Abstract

Dragon fruit contain high antosianin, sources of antosianin can be optained from pink colored fruit and vegetables to red. The natural properties of antosianin can be used as natural dyes in cosmetic preparation were chosen because it is a cosmetic that is quite popular and most comfortable to use. The purpose of this research is to find out whether dragon fruit can be blush on, not irritated and to find out the best formulations. The methode of this research was done by making dragon fruit extract by maceration for 24 hours using etanol. The extract formulation used is 15%, 25%, and 40%. Ingridienst for making blush on include kaolin, parrafin liquid, zink oxyd, and talcum. Evaluation of blus on preparations include homogenty, pH, dispersion, irritation, polish and hedonic. The results of research 3 blush on formulation, the preparation met the homogenity test with no vissible coarse grains and particlesevently mixed. The pH of the preparation producted is still in the normal pH range of spearat evenly and easily attached to the skin, with each application three time polishing. Based on the favorite test after processing statistical data, formulation the most preferred panelish is blush on formulation 3. Key words: Dragon fruit, blush on, antosianin.

Abstract

At the end of 2019, the world was shocked by the emergence of a new virus from Wuhan, China. The virus is known as nCoV (novel corona virus). This virus is a new variant of the corona virus that broke out in 2002 which is known by people as SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). Then this new type of corona virus was known as SARS-CoV-2 and the name of the disease was known as COVID-19. According to reports until March 2020 the SARS-CoV-2 virus has infected 90,308 people in China and the death rate has reached 3,087 people. COVID-19 was detected in Indonesia for the first time in early March 2020. The rate of spread of COVID-19 was very fast within a few months, the number of positive patients with COVID-19 in August 2020 reached 172,053 cases. COVID-19 is very contagious and spreads quickly, so to avoid COVID-19 it is necessary to do 3M (wear a mask, keep your distance and wash your hands). Because it has been months but the plague has not ended, the whole world has begun to take a stand to initiate new policies in people's daily lives. This policy is known as the New Normal Era.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has entered a new phase. Efforts to control Covid-19 are carried out by conducting mass vaccinations to all levels of society. Indonesia itself has launched and targeted a vaccination program for all levels of society. This vaccination program aims to achieve herd immunity. Indonesia itself currently uses 6 types of vaccines from several countries, namely vaccines produced by PT Bio Farma (Persero), AstraZeneca, China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation (Sinopharm), Moderna, Novavax Inc, Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech, Sinovac Life Sciences Co., Ltd. This outreach activity aims to provide understanding and knowledge to the public about the importance of the Covid-19 vaccine. This activity was carried out in Penen village, Biru-Biru District.

Abstract

Garbage has become a classic problem that is constantly discussed and never finished in Indonesia. The dense population and settlements make the amount of waste produced is also increasing, because the waste is the result of daily human activities. With the increasing number of residents and dense settlements, the amount of waste will also continue to accumulate, therefore we as a group that cares about the environment and is tasked with providing useful and informative information to the community conduct counseling about the importance of processing household waste independently, one of which is the manufacture of fertilizers. compost with a simple composter. It is hoped that this activity can increase public awareness about wise steps to dispose of waste and adapt the concept of zero waste in everyday life. The location of this community service is in the village of West Deli Tua, Deli Tua District, Deli Serdang Regency. North Sumatra. The location of West Deli Tua was chosen as the research location considering the dense population and the density of population activities in the West Deli Tua village which has the potential to produce a lot of waste, especially household waste.

Abstract

Kebersihan mulut dan kesehatan gigi sangat penting dalam kehidupan seseorang dalam kesehariannya, terdapat berbagai macam bakteri yang tidak menguntungkan pada rongga mulut, diantaranya adalah bakteri penyebab sariawan yaitu Streptococcus mutans. Komponen utama daun sereh terdiri dari alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin dan saponin. Penggunaan sereh sebagai obat kumur merupakan alternatif pengganti sediaan obat kumur yang umumnya mengandung antiseptik berupa alkohol yang dapat memicu terjadinya kanker mulut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasi daun sereh sebagai obat kumur dan mengetahui perbedaan efektivitas antibakteri terhadap pertumbuhan Streptococcus mutans dengan variasi konsentrasi 5%, 10%, 15% dan tanpa ekstrak daun sereh. Uji aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan media agar. Obat kumur ekstrak sereh memiliki pH di luar kisaran pertumbuhan optimum bakteri yaitu 6. Viskositas obat kumur adalah 1,00-4,60 Cp. Aktivitas antibakteri Streptococcus mutans pada kontrol tidak menghasilkan zona hambat, pada konsentrasi 5% sebesar 9,06 mm, konsentrasi 10%  sebesar 10,95 mm dan konsentrasi 15% sebesar 16,65 mm sedangkan pada kontrol positif sebesar 25,09 mm. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah obat kumur ekstrak sereh konsentrasi 5%, 10% dan 15% dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Streptococcus mutans

Abstract

Pasta gigi merupakan salah satu bahan yang sudah lama digunakan untuk membersihkan gigi. Selain itu pasta gigi juga dapat menghilangkan atau mengurangi bau mulut, memoles permukaan gigi, memberikan rasa segar pada mulut serta memelihara kesehatan gigi. Pasta gigi yang mengandung bahan yang aman dan nyaman serta memiliki efek samping yang sedikit biasanya disebut pasta gigi herbal. Pembuatan pasta gigi dapat diinovasikan dengan penambahan bahan alami yang bermanfaat, aman dan efektif untuk menjaga kesehatan gigi. Bahan alami lain yang dapat ditambahkan pada pasta gigi yaitu tanaman obat. Salah satunya daun alangalang (Imperata cylindrica L.). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Aktivitas Pasta Gigi Pemutih Ekstrak daun alang-alang (Imperata Cylindrica L. Beauv) Secara Invitro dan efektivitasnya. Rancangan penelitian yang akan digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimental laboratoris dan Observasional untuk menganalisis efektivitas. Pengumpulan data akan dilakukan melalui observasi pada 10 orang responden. Formula sediaan pasta gigi arang aktif yang dibuat merupakan formula pasta gigi yang telah dimodifikasi berdasarkan formula dari Harmely et aldengan memanfaatkan alang-alang yang dikeringkan lalu dijadikan arang aktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mayoritas responden berusia 25 tahun dan 25-40 tahun. Berjenis kelamin laki-laki dan menyikat gigi 2 kali sehari. Terjadi perunbahan kadar plak gigi setelah dilakukannya intervensi, sebelum intervensi terdapat 3 orang (30%) responden dengan kategori plak baik dan meningkat menjadi 6 orang (60%) responden setelah intervensi, sebelum intervensi sebanyak 4 orang (40%) responden memiliki kategori plak buruk menurun menjadi 1 orang (10%) dengan kategori plak buruk setelah intervensi

Abstract

Angka kejadian hipertensi mengalami peningkatan di setiap tahunnya. Hipertensi merupakan salah satu penyakit membahayakan yang ada di dunia. Penanganan hipertensi dapat dilakukan secara farmakologi dan nonfarmakologi. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan akan menjadi referensi untuk pemanfaatan limbah rumah tangga yaitu kulit nenas, yang ternyata dapat dijadikan alternatif terapi non farmakologis untuk penderita Hipertensi.Rancangan penelitian yang akan digunakan adalah studi Observasional dengan desain crossectional terhadap 90 Lansia dengan riwayat Hipertensi yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis Evektivitas pemberian teh kulit nenas terhadap tekanan darah Lansia penderita Hipertensi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Deli Tua, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Sumatera Utara.Negatif ranks menunjukkan nilai sampel sebelum lebih tinggi dari nilai sesudah. Hasil pada Negatif ranks pada uji Wilcoxon Diastole bernilai 90, artinya ada 90 orang lansia yang mengalami penurunan tekanan darah Diastole setelah intervensi yaitu pemberian teh kulit nenas. Positive ranks menunjukkan nilai sampel sesudah lebih tinggi dari nilai sebelum. Hasil pada nilai positif ranks pada tekanan darah Diastole yaitu 0, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada responden yang mengalami kenaikan tekanan darah Diastole setelah diberi intervensi. Ties artinya sampel dengan nilai kelompok kedua (setelah pemberian teh nenas) sama dengan nilai kelompok pertama (sebelum pemberian teh nenas). Pada nilai ties pada tekanan darah Diastole bernilai 0, artinya semua lansia mengalami perubahan tekanan darah Diastole setelah pemberian teh kulit nenas. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa nilai sig. Tekanan darah Diastole yaitu 0,00 0,05, sehingga dapat diasumsikan bahwa ada pengaruh pemberian teh kulit nenas terhadap tekanan darah diastole Lansia penderita Hipertensi
