Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of Op-Amp trainer in the learning of electronic control systems on the learning outcomes of students in the cognitive and psychomotor domains. The research was conducted using a quasi-experiment method and a sample of 32 students from the experimental and control classes. Data analysis was conducted using hypothesis testing and N-Gain. The results showed that the average learning outcomes of students in both the cognitive and psychomotor domains are good and there was a significant difference in learning outcomes with the experimental class higher. The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of Op-Amp trainer in the learning of electronic control systems is effective in improving student learning outcomes in the cognitive and psychomotor domains when compared to simulation-based learning media.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic, which has occurred for more than two years, has left various problems in learning. According to the opinion of most teachers and students, learning using an online approach in some courses was less effective. For example, the Embedded Systems course (ES) stimulates students to do product development. Online learning even tended to cause a loss of motivation, especially in applied studies that require adequate time and facilities to do the practicum. Hence there is a need for a learning method that can be a solution to the problems caused by the online approach. In the ES, students are required to understand the not only theory but also practice comprehensively. Therefore, a more sophisticated strategy is necessary. To enable students to see and assess the events that transpired during product development, collaborated research-based learning (CRL) is expected to be a proper method to tackle such problems. With the RL approach, especially for applied subjects such as Embedded Systems, students must be able to innovate so that the learning process encourages them to find real solutions to the faced problems. CRL encourages students to be able to formulate research designs, data collection, practical research, and interpretation of results. CRL engages students in the process and active participation in acquiring reflective knowledge and critical thinking to build their vision. This report presents a preliminary examination of the implementation of CRL in ES to improve students' engagement. The study measure participants’ overview of using project management application in CRL. The study involved 30 students taking the ES. The study finding discovers that the students’ perspective of the CRL approach in ES is suitable during pandemic

Abstract

Perkembangan sistem pengendalian sangat pesat dewasa ini, baik sistem pengendalian untuk industri kecil sampai industrik besar. Sistem pengendalian dipakai untuk memudahkan manuasia dalam melakukan berbagai hal yang detail dan hal yang dilakukan secara terus menerus.Kemasan memang sudah menjadi bagian kehidupan masyarakat sehari-hari, terutama dalam hubungannya dengan produk pangan. Sejalan dengan itu pengemasan telah berkembang dengan pesat menjadi ilmu dan teknologi yang makin canggih. PLC sebagai kontroller yang mengolahsinyal input dan output. Kontroller yang digunakan dalam sistem pengendalian prototype mesincartoning ini menggunakan teknologi PLC OMRON CP1E 20 I/O dan elektro-pneumatik untukmenggerakan berbagai sistem mekanik yang terdapat pada prototype mesin cartoning. Input darisistem ini menggunakan push button, limit switch, dan reed switch sedangkan output yangdigunakan adalah solenoid valve yang akan dihubungkan ke aktuator lain seperti double actingcylinder dan vacuum. Metode pembuatan alat ini bersifat eksperimental dengan melakukanperancangan, realisasi, dan pengujian. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu prototype mesin cartoning.Prototype mesin cartoning dapat digunakan untuk melakukan pengepakan yang biasa terdapatdalam proses produksi di industri. Prototype mesin cartoning ini tersusun dari beberapa komponenyang mendeskripsikan dari proses pengepakan. Kesimpulan dari rancang bangun prototype mesincartoning yang telah dirancang menunjukan kinerja sesuai dengan spesifikasi perancangan. PLCOmron CP1E dapat berkomunikasi dan mengendalikan simulator dengan baik sesuai dengandeskripsi kerja alat yang telah direncanakan sebelumnya. Program ladder diagram yang tersimpandalam memori PLC menjadi kunci utama dalam mengendalikan proses pengepakan.
