Abstract

In the distribution system, blackouts caused by excessive loads cause losses for both consumers and electricity providers. Based on this, it is necessary to analyze the addition of distribution substations using an accurate methodology so that when applied it can be a solution to the need for electrical energi. Several stages of the method are determining the specifications of each component, calculating the optimal capacity of each component, measuring the voltage value contained in the panel and the primary part of the transformer at the hook-up substation, and simulating using ETAP software. The cantol substation was chosen because field studies have been carried out according to load requirements. The results of the calculation analysis show that with the addition of insertion substations, the total power becomes 100 kVA. The measured load at night is 77.7 kVA and during the day is 67.5 kVA. This indicates that the loading is in the allowable standard range below 80%. The voltage increased to 0.9828 per unit from the previous condition where there was a voltage drop of 11%. So that the load needs are met on demand.

Abstract

Selection of devices for IoT needs can be determined based on the range from the shortest to the furthest, and on the internet access or Wi-Fi availability, which can be considered in advance and adjusted to the needs. In line with this, a training was carried out at SMKN 1 Cimahi, involving several groups of experts in the Electrical Engineering familyto open insight and understanding regarding the needs of devices that can be used to build internet-based or IoT systems. This training also introduced several observation schemes with various platforms, that are available in both free and paid choices. The training activities were carried out for 16 hours face-to-face, and 16 hours of independent projects that consisted of 10 modules. Out of these activities, it is expected that the participants can improve their thinking skills and carry out system programming processes according to needs and readiness.

Abstract

The CT saturation analysis approach model was carried out using ATPDraw and Mathcad software simulations. Input simulation data obtained from CT testing at West Priok Substation, namely ratio, excitation curve V-rms-Irms, Rct. Based on the simulation results, the CT model was successfully implemented for CT conditions at the West Priok Substation which experienced saturation, as seen from the results of the distorted waveforms and the THDi value of 40.612%. These results are then compared with the IEC 61869-2 standard with the parameters obtained from the CT-Analyzer test on E-t, Ek, Ie, Kx, and Rct, that E-t is -1%, Ek is 635.25 V, Ie is 13.5 mA, Kx of 0.084 and Rct of 7432.57 ohm. This result is a deviation from the specified standard, meaning that the CT is damaged and saturated. After replacing the CT, it was tested again and the value of E-t was -0.010%, Ek was 936.09 V, Ie was 9.68 mA, Kx was 14.39 A, Rct was 4.226 ohm, and the waveform simulation results were not distorted, then the THDi value obtained by 0.08%. This indicates that the CT is in good condition and does not experience saturation when the short circuit current is 20 kA.

Abstract

In the distribution of electricity from electric power sources to consumers who are located far apart, they always experience losses, namely in the form of voltage drops and power losses. However, the voltage loss that occurs in the process of distributing electrical energy is a waste of energy if it is not controlled optimally. Concerning the quality of service, the main factor which becomes the benchmark is the continuity of service and the quality of service voltage. The impact of these losses results in low levels of service quality to customers. Analysis of voltage drop and power loss is needed to determine the size of the voltage drop at the end of the DPRD feeder network. The calculation of voltage drops and power loss uses simulation results of ETAP method. The results of mathematical calculations and simulations are analyzed to determine the factors that cause the voltage quality at the end of the DPRD feeder network to be below the standard service voltage of 20 kV. The results of the analysis and simulation show that the factors that cause the voltage quality at the end of the DPRD feeder to be below the standard of service quality level are the transformer loading system, the type of conductor, and the distance of the substation to the far end of the feeder network. Then the problem was resolved by changing the type of conductor and reconfiguring it by shifting part of the load to the Lampegan feeder so that the voltage profile at the end of the DPRD Feeder was initially 17.527 kV after reconfiguration increased to 18.137 kV.

Abstract

Problems that often occur with electricity distribution network quality, continuity and availability services consumers. Study aims evaluate reliability of the 20 kV medium-voltage electricity distribution system at the Suci ULP Garut Kota feeder, where 2021 Suci feeder experienced 14 disturbances duration 791 minutes (13.1 hours), including a medium-voltage overhead line that broke 2 Phase. Determining the reliability index value electricity distribution system of the Kudus ULP Garut City feeder, mathematical calculations were carried out using RIA-section technique predetermined formula and simulated using ETAP software with study case reliability assessment. Based on the results of the study, improvement was made that the reliability value feeder was stable. Repairs were carried out 2 times, first repair, 2 fuse cutouts were installed and 4 transformers were moved, while the second repair was to divide the Suci feeder into 2 parts, namely the western Suci feeder and the eastern Suci feeder. So making these improvements the reliability index Suci feeder becomes stable and meets what has been SPLN 68-2: 1986, which is below SAIFI 3.3 times/customer/year and SAIDI 21.9 hours/customer/year.

Abstract

The aim of this research to identify areas requiring further attention to enhance electricity distribution efficiency. Data collection is conducted through observation and documentation methods to obtain secondary data such as Single Line Diagram, Distribution Transformer Load Current, Substation Voltage, Conductor Type, Conductor Length, and Conductor Cross-Sectional Area. Secondary data is processed and analyzed to obtain the conductor resistance value, conductor/line power losses, transformer power losses, total power losses, and total energi losses occurring in the distribution network using mathematical calculations, followed by simulation using the ETAP (Electrical Transient Analysis Program) application. After manually calculating power losses in the PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Banda distribution network at Penyulang Nusantara, which reached 7.84034 kW, the simulation results using the ETAP software show 7.8 kW, with a power loss percentage of 0.69% relative to the load. Following the simulation of improvement efforts using ETAP (conductor uprating and load balancing), power losses decrease to 4.4 kW (a reduction of 3.4 kW), with a percentage of 0.39%. The energi losses before improvement are 5,645.045 kWh (1.802%), and after improvement, it becomes 3,168 kWh (a reduction of 2,477 kWh) with a percentage of 1.59%. The improvement efforts result in savings of IDR 3,578,586.91.
