Abstract

This study aims to develop a Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on Project Based Learning (PBL) for the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV) that facilitates the Mathematical Problem-Solving Ability (KPMM) of eighth-grade junior high school (SMP/MTs) students. The developed product is expected to meet the criteria of validity and practicality. The subjects of this study were six eighth-grade students from SMP Negeri 2 Sabak Auh during the even semester. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method, with data collection carried out using a practicality questionnaire. The product trial was conducted on a small scale involving six students. The validation results from two expert lecturers and one practitioner showed a validity level of 96.34%. Meanwhile, the practicality level—assessed based on aspects of appearance, language, learning material, problem-solving ability, and ease of use—reached 86.68%. It can thus be concluded that the PBL-based LKPD on the SPLDV topic developed in this study meets the criteria of being valid and practical for use in learning activities aimed at enhancing students’ Mathematical Problem-Solving Ability.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum emphasize the importance of mathematical problem-solving ability (MPSA) to face the challenges of learning and everyday life. Previous studies have largely focused on learning models without developing contextual and specific teaching materials. This study aims to develop a teaching module based on Problem-based Learning (PBL) for number pattern content to enhance the MPSA of phase D students. The research employed the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Research instruments included validation sheets and practicality questionnaires. The validation results indicated a very valid category with an average score of 3.65, while the LKPD practicality reached a very practical category with an average score of 3.35. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning-based teaching module can facilitate the mathematical problem-solving skills of seventh-grade students. This research also shows a significant increase in the students' MPSA after the implementation of the PBL Teaching Module, marked by an increase in the average score from pre-test to post-test, and students also demonstrated a more positive attitude and higher self-confidence towards mathematics. The development of the PBL-based teaching module not only enhances the quality of mathematics learning but also helps students develop the Pancasila learner profile.

Abstract

Abstact Mathematical literacy is a crucial skill, yet many students still struggle with solving contextual problems due to limited supporting materials such as student worksheets (LKPD). This study is a research and development (R&D) study employing the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) aimed at producing a student worksheet based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) that is both valid and practical. The developed content focuses on systems of linear equations in two variables. The worksheet was validated by three mathematics education experts, tested through a one-to-one evaluation with three students, and a small group test with 22 eighth-grade students from a public junior high school in Riau Province. Validation results showed the worksheet to be highly valid in terms of content, construct, CTL approach, and mathematical literacy. The practicality test indicated that the worksheet was practical in terms of appearance, presentation, and usefulness. It can be concluded that the developed worksheet is both valid and practical. Further research is suggested to examine its effectiveness and adaptability to other topics or grade levels.

Abstract

This study is a development research aimed at producing a valid and practical Student Worksheet for the Cartesian coordinate material. The development model used in this study is the 4-D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate). The product developed is a learning worksheet based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model for eighth-grade students of junior high schools (SMP/MTs) on the Cartesian coordinate topic. This worksheet has undergone a validation process by three validators, a one-to-one trial with three students to assess readability, and a small group trial with 15 students, all of which indicated that the worksheet met the criteria for validity and practicality. The validation results showed an average percentage of 91.61%, categorized as very valid. Furthermore, the practicality results obtained from the small group trial showed an average percentage of 89%, categorized as very practical. Thus, it can be concluded that the development of the worksheet using the Problem Based Learning model for the Cartesian coordinate topic in eighth-grade SMP/MTs has met the criteria for being both valid and practical.
