Abstract

The food industry is a consistently growing sector, even in challenging economic conditions, driven by population growth and increased demand. Recognizing its importance, the Indonesian government has identified the food and beverage industry as a key sector in its Industry 4.0 roadmap. However, challenges such as reliance on imported raw materials and high labor absorption rates persist. This study analyzes the impact of cost structure on the value-added in Indonesia's food industry from 2017 to 2021, using data from Indonesia Statistics on large and medium industries. The Panel Data Regression results reveal that raw material costs and fixed capital costs positively and significantly affect value-added. These findings suggest that effective cost management, innovation, and the use of advanced technology are crucial for optimizing value-added in this sector.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine the influence of gender diversity on the relationship between sustainability reporting and firm value in Indonesian manufacturing enterprises from 2021 to 2023. This study utilizes secondary data derived from the annual reports of firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This study measures gender diversity by the percentage of female members on a company's board of commissioners. Sustainability reporting is measured using the GRI 2016 standards, with the economic sector divided into 6 subsections consisting of 13 indicators, the environmental sector divided into 8 subsections consisting of 30 indicators, and the social sector divided into 19 subsections consisting of 34 indicators. Firm value is measured using the Price-to-Book Value ratio. The research sample consists of consumer non-cyclicals, and purposive sampling technique is employed. To analyze the data, this study applies Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with the assistance of SPSS. The results of the study indicate that gender diversity does not moderate the effect of sustainability reporting on firm value. This finding suggests that while sustainability reporting may influence firm value, gender diversity does not have a significant moderating effect in the context of manufacturing companies in Indonesia. This study recommends considering other factors that may be more effective in moderating the relationship between sustainability reporting and firm value. Keywords: "Gender Diversity"; "Sustainability Report"; and "Firm Value"

Abstract

Indonesia is the world’s leading exporter of palm oil, fulfilling approximately 52% of global demand. The export of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) serves as a strategic component of the country's agro-based industry and remains the largest contributor to non-oil and gas foreign exchange earnings. Despite its significance, there remains limited empirical research examining the impact of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Domestic Investment (DI), and the exchange rate on Indonesia’s CPO export value, particularly over the period 2000 to 2024. This study aims to fill that gap by employing secondary time series data sourced from the World Bank, Statistics Indonesia (Badan Pusat Statistik), and Bank Indonesia. The research applies a multiple linear regression analysis using the EViews 12 statistical software. The results reveal that FDI has a positive and statistically significant effect on Indonesia’s CPO export value. In contrast, Domestic Investment and the exchange rate show no significant partial influence. However, when analyzed simultaneously, FDI, DI, and exchange rate collectively exert a significant impact on CPO export performance. Furthermore, the analysis of export value trends from 2000 to 2024 shows a generally positive trajectory, highlighting the continued importance of policy support and investment in maintaining Indonesia's dominance in the global palm oil market.
