Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Envelope Puzzle method on students’ descriptive writing skills. This research employs a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design of the one-group pretest-posttest type. The sample consisted of 31 students. The instrument used was a descriptive writing test administered before and after the implementation of the Envelope Puzzle method. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a t-test. The analysis results showed that the students' average pretest score was 55.64, which increased to 91.68 in the posttest. Additionally, the t-test results showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. Thus, it can be concluded that the Envelope Puzzle method is effective in improving students’ descriptive writing skills. The implementation of this method makes learning more enjoyable, interactive, and helps students organize ideas systematically in written form
