Abstract

This study investigates non-English major students’ attitude and motivation towards learning English as foreign language at Law Department Halu Oleo University. This study also expected to find out what gender is more motivated towards learning English. The study employed the descriptive design. The total sample of this study was 130 students and registered in academic years of 2018/2019. The sample investigated using attitude and motivation questionnaires 5-point Likert Scale that adopted from AMTB by Gardner. The result of this study indicates that: (1) the participants have positive attitude towards learning English as foreign language. (2) The level of participants’ motivation as sample of this study is high. (3) The integrative motivation is more dominant than instrumental motivation. (4) Female is more motivated than male students. Most of those surveyed held positive views of the development English teaching towards non-English major students. The English lecturer is highly expected to be more commitment with the schedule of teaching and learning process. An effective number of students in a class are still need high consideration. The findings of this study may help language developers, syllabus designers and decision makers to develop programs and design syllabi and create interesting textbooks which maintain students' positive attitude and motivation.

Abstract

The Influence of CAR, BOPO, FDR and NPF on Profitability at Bank Muamalat in Indonesia. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of CAR on the profitability of Bank Muamalat in Indonesia, knowing the effect of the BOPO ratio on the profitability of Bank Muamalat in Indonesia, knowing the effect of FDR on the profitability of Bank Muamalat in Indonesia, knowing the effect of NPF on the profitability of Bank Muamalat in Indonesia. This study uses secondary data obtained by documentation techniques in the form of financial reports through the official muamalat website www.muamalat.com. This study uses time series data with a time span of 2000-2015. This study uses a multiple linear regression analysis model using the SPSS 25 program. The results of the research show that partially CAR has a negative and insignificant effect on the profitability of Bank Muamalat. Partially BOPO has a positive and significant effect on the profitability of Bank Muamalat. FDR partially has a positive and insignificant effect on the profitability of Bank Muamalat. NPF partially has a positive and insignificant effect on the profitability of Bank Muamalat.

Abstract

Kualitas dari pengajaran yang dilakukan pada satuan penddidikan dipengaruhi oleh kompetensi profesional seorang guru. Semakin baik kompetensi yang dimiliki oleh guru maka akan semakin baik pula proses pembelajaran dalam suatu kelas. Namun, dilema di lapangan belum sepenuhnya komptensi profesional dimiliki oleh guru. Melalui kegiatan pengabdian ini bermaksud untuk memfasilitasi guru-guru pendidikan jasmani tingkat sekolah dasar yang ada di Kecamatan Sukaraja untuk meningkatkan kompetensi profesionalnya. Kegiatan pengabdian melalui workshop pengembangan kid atletik diharapkan dapat menjembatani guru dalam mengembangkan materi atletik sehingga proses pembelajaran atletik menjadi lebih menyenangkan bagi siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian diikuti oleh sebanyak 20 guru olahraga tingkat sekolah dasar. Untuk mengetahui keberhasilan dari kegiatan ini maka digunakan instrumen berupa tes tertulis. Data dianaliasis secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan nilai rerata dan persentase. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai rerata kompetensi guru olahraga sebelum mengikuti kegiatan dan setelah mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui workshop pengembangan kid athletics dapat meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru olahraga tingkat sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Sukaraja.

Abstract

Objectives. The study observed that some first-semester Physical Education students at Bengkulu University lacked proficiency in basic volleyball techniques such as passing and were not motivated by their lecturers' teaching methods. To address this, the peer tutorial method was applied to skilled students. This proved successful and saved time. The research aims to evaluate whether this method can improve passing skills. The study uses action research. Materials and Methods. The subjects of this research were 1st Semester Physical Education Students at Bengkulu University with a total of 30 students consisting of 17 men and 13 women. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, and tests of volleyball passing skills. Results. Pre-cycle research found 56.67% students failed to understand bottom passing movement (17 students). Cycle I peer tutorial improved to 66.66% (19 students). Cycle II improved further to 76.67% (23 students). Conclusion. The results suggest that the peer tutorial method has a positive impact on improving volleyball bottom passing skills, resulting in an increase in the number of students passing the bottom.

Abstract

Permasalah utama yang dihadapi mitra adalah para remaja desa Tabeak Blau II belum mengenal permainan petanque. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan pengenalan olahraga petanque kepada remaja desa Tabeak Blau II melalui sosialisasi terpadu. Peserta dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah 25 peserta remaja laki-laki maupun perempuan yang berusia 12-15 tahun. Kegiatan sosialisasi dilaksanakan pada 2-5 Februari 2021, waktu 16.00 – 17.35 WIB. Tahapan dalam kegiatan ini adalah diskusi kepada karang taruna dan perangkat desa, pengenalan permaian petanque, praktek dan pendampingan, pertandingan petanque dan evaluasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, demonstrasi, diskusi, dan evaluasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis pada kegiatan ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa sosialisasi diterima dengan baik dan bisa manjadi sarana bagi remaja desa Tabeak Blau II untuk memulai berlatih olahraga petanque.

Abstract

This research was carried out on the basis of describing promotion analysis in the development strategy of a sustainable tofu trading business in Simangambat village, Siabu sub-district, Mandailing Natal district by taking a case study in Simangambat village, Siabu sub-district, Mandailing Natal regency, which is one of the villages whose community has a tofu trading business, namely Sustainable tofu. This research was conducted from October 2023- July 2024. This research method uses a qualitative approach where this research describes, explains and interprets objects according to what they are. Data validation was carried out by gathering information from several informants who were directly related to the Tofu Trading Business. Apart from that, the researcher also carried out direct observations at the research location to verify the data whether the data obtained from the informants was in line with reality data or not. As a result of this research, the author concludes that the promotion analysis in the development strategy for the sustainable tofu trading business in Simangambat village still cannot be said to be optimal. This can be seen from the marketing system of tofu factories which has not kept up with the times and is still developing a system through a system of entrusting it to stalls. So sustainable tofu businesses must develop systems such as using social media for marketing so that the business they manage can develop further and can also compete with other tofu businesses.

Abstract

This research is prompted by the low achievement of student learning outcomes in IPAS learning, which is caused by the less than optimal implementation of the learning model carried out by the teacher. So that students are less active in participating in learning, which has an impact on the low learning outcomes of students. The purpose of this study was to describe the improvement of student learning outcomes in IPAS learning using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type Cooperative Learning model in class V SDN 9 Sijunjung. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) using a qualitative research design conducted at SDN 9 Sijunjung with the subject being grade V students at SDN 9 Sijunjung consisting of 14 male students and 13 female students This research was conducted in two cycles, namely cycle I two meetings and cycle II one meeting. The research process involved four main stages: planning, action, observation and reflection. The results showed an increase from cycle I to cycle II, the average value of the learning module increased from 87.49 (B) in cycle I to 95.83 (A) in cycle II. Teacher activity also increased from an average score of 87.49 (B) cycle I to 96.42 (A) cycle II. Learner activities also increased from 87.49 (B) cycle I to 96.42 (A) cycle II. The learning outcomes of students also showed a significant increase from 75 (C) in cycle I to 91 (A) in cycle II.Overall, the Cooperative Learning model type Teams Games Tournament (TGT) has been proven to be able to improve the learning outcomes of students in class V at SDN 9 Sijunjung

Abstract

This study aims to analyze violations of the public accountant code of ethics that occurred in the audit of the financial statements of PT. Hanson International Tbk, especially in the 2016 report. In the report, the company recognized revenue of Rp732 billion from the sale of ready to build lots, even though the transaction was not supported by valid legal documents such as a sale and purchase binding agreement (PPJB). The financial statements still received a “fair without modification” opinion from the auditor, which then raises big questions regarding the integrity and competence of auditors in carrying out their duties. This case became a public concern because it affected thousands of investors, and triggered distrust of the company's audited financial statements. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature study method, namely by examining various secondary sources such as scientific articles, audit reports, mass media news, and official documents from related institutions. The results of the study identified that the violations that occurred included the basic principles in the code of ethics for the public accounting profession, namely integrity, objectivity, competence and professional prudence, and professional behavior. These violations not only reduce the credibility of the public accounting profession, but also cause large financial losses to the public and tarnish the image of auditing in Indonesia. This research emphasizes the importance of strengthening supervision by regulators and professional organizations, implementing strict sanctions against ethical violations, and the need for early ethical character building through professional education and training. By strengthening the implementation of the code of ethics, it is expected that audit practices in Indonesia can run transparently, accountably, and professionally.

Abstract

"The Influence of Marketing Strategy on Increasing the Sales Volume of the Bhaiya Bread Factory Business, Pasar Hilir Village, Panyabungan District, Mandailing Natal Regency" aims to find out the extent to which marketing strategies affect the increase in sales volume. The company was established to obtain maximum profit, so marketing effectiveness is an important component in attracting consumers and expanding market share. A good marketing strategy allows companies to build long-term relationships with customers, increase competitive advantages, and maintain business existence in the midst of increasingly fierce competition. In addition, implementing the right marketing strategy also helps companies understand consumer needs, position products more effectively, and adjust the marketing mix according to market dynamics. This study used a quantitative approach with the Accidental Sampling method on 96 respondents and simple linear regression analysis to test the influence of variables. The results of the study showed that marketing strategy had a positive and significant effect on sales volume with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The value of the determination coefficient (R²) is 0.220, which means that 22% of the change in sales volume is explained by marketing strategy, while the remaining 78% is influenced by other factors such as product quality, price, location, consumer preferences, and the intensity of promotions carried out by competitors in the region.
