Abstract

This study was begun at finding description about the mathematics’ teacher did not make relationship between new information to real situation of students and the students’ ability in problem solving was still lower. This problem certainly impacts to mathematics’ belief of students. For making out this problem, a contextual approach in mathematics learning has been being applied. The goals of this research were to know students’ ability in problem solving between contextual and conventional approach and also mathematics’ belief of students after studied using contextual approach. The kind of this research was a quasi experiment. The population was the students of class IX Junior High School 1 Bayang. The research’s instruments are problem solving tests and questionnaire sheets. The result of this research showed the mean of final test in experiment class is higher than control class and also mathematics’ belief of student. Based on the result of the research could be conclude that students’ ability in problem solving and mathematics’ belief with using contextual approach better than conventional approach both high and low prior knowledge’s students.

Abstract

Teori belajar Behavioristik merupakan teori yang berpandangan bahwa belajar adalah proses perubahan tingkah laku melalui stimulus respon. Dengan kata lain,belajar merupakan bentuk perubahan yang dialami siswa dalam hal kemampuannya yangbertujuan merubah tingkah laku dengan cara interaksi antara stimulus dan respon.Dalam konsep belajar behavioristik, siswa dikatakan belajar jika terjadi perubahan prilaku ke arah yang lebih baik. Salah satu tokoh pengusung teori ini adalah Edward Thorndike yang dikenal dengan teori Koneksionisme. Menurut Thorndike, belajar merupakan proses koneksi antara stimulus respon yang berujung kepada perubahan tingkah laku. Hubungan stimulus respon ini menurut Thorndike dapat diperkuatdengan adanya kesiapan dalam menerima perubahan tingkah laku tersebut (Law of Readiness), diberikan pengulangan (Law of Exercise) dan diberikan penghargaan (Law of Effect). Dalam pembelajaran khususnya matematika, guru memastikan kesiapan siswa dalam belajar, agar stimulus yang diberikan dapat diterima baik oleh siswa dan memunculkan respon yang diinginkan. Stimulus yang diberikan hendaknya sering diulang agar hubungan stimulus respon semakin kuat salah satunya dengan memberikan latihan ataupun penekanan konsep oleh guru. Selain itu, hubungan ini juga dapat diperkuat dengan memberikan penghargaan kepada siswa. Sehingga menimbulkan kepuasan bagi mereka

Abstract

Berdasarkan wawancara dan penyebaran angket kepada guru-guru Sekolah Dasar (SD) Gugus 1 Kecamatan Pariaman timur ditemukan permasalahan bahwa kurangnya pengetahuan guru SD Gugus 1 Kecamatan Pariaman timur Kabupaten Pariaman mengenai alat peraga berbasis integrated learning untuk siswa SD, kurangnya keterampilan guru SD Gugus 1 Kecamatan Pariaman timur Kabupaten Pariaman mengenai pembuatan alat peraga berbasis integrated learning untuk siswa SD, dan kurangnya informasi serta referensi mengenai alat peraga berbasis integrated learning. Solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini adalah: (1) Seminar mengenai alat peraga berbasis integrated learning. (2) Pelatihan pembuatan alat peraga berbasis integrated learning. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan guru SD mengenai alat peraga berbasis integrated learning. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan guru tentang alat peraga pembelajaran berbasis integrated learning.

Abstract

In today's digital era, higher education faces new challenges and opportunities, especially in terms of integrating technology in the teaching and learning process. The digital-based learning evaluation course is one form of adaptation to this change. This course is designed to equip students with skills in evaluating and managing learning that utilizes digital technology. Student satisfaction is an important indicator in assessing the effectiveness of this course. This study aims to determine student satisfaction with learning for the Digital-Based Learning Evaluation course in the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program. This research was conducted using a survey method through giving a questionnaire with a total of 100 respondents who took this course. The questionnaire was given through google form with a total of 18 statements. The data were analyzed descriptively by presenting the acquisition of each aspect of satisfaction. The results show that student satisfaction is in a very high category, namely in the aspect of learning planning at 89.88%, the aspect of teaching ability of lecturers at 90.33% and the use of technology in learning at 86.37%. Thus, the learning process of the Digital-Based Learning Evaluation course has a significant effect on student satisfaction both in terms of lecturer planning and the form of technology used.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the psychological and cognitive development of second-grade students at Koto Lalang 14 Public Elementary School, Lubuk Kilangan District, West Sumatra, using three main developmental theories: Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory, Erik Erikson's psychosocial theory, and Jean Piaget's cognitive development theory. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method with direct observation, interviews with classroom teachers, and documentation. Observations indicate that students aged 8–9 are in the latent stage (Freud's), the Industry vs. Inferiority stage (Erikson's), and the concrete operational stage (Piaget's). Findings indicate that students are able to work in groups and demonstrate logical thinking regarding concrete objects, but still experience difficulties with abstract concepts and occasionally display feelings of inferiority. This study recommends the implementation of concrete object-based learning, inclusive group activities, and positive feedback to support optimal student development.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of students on the material of cube and cuboid nets in class V of UPT SDN 002 Tanjung Koto Kampar Hulu due to learning that still does not involve students actively and has not utilized learning models and media that support conceptual understanding. This research aims to improve student learning outcomes through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by GeoGebra. The research uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively to evaluate the learning process and outcomes. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by GeoGebra is able to improve the quality of learning implementation and student learning outcomes. The quality of learning planning, teacher activities, and student activities has increased to reach the very good category at the end of the action. Student learning outcomes also increased from the poor category at the beginning of the action to the good category at the end of the study, with an average score reaching 83.3. These findings indicate that the GeoGebra-assisted Problem Based Learning model is effective in improving mathematics learning outcomes on the material of cube and cuboid nets in class V of UPT SDN 002 Tanjung Koto Kampar Hulu.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Head Together (NHT) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 3 Sijunjung. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan pemecahan masalah. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain posttest-only control group. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran NHT dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes uraian untuk mengukur kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika berdasarkan empat indikator menurut Polya, yaitu: memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian, melaksanakan perencanaan, dan memeriksa kembali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dalam kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Meskipun demikian, implementasi model NHT menunjukkan peningkatan partisipasi dan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif NHT sebagai alternatif untuk meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low level of students' problem-solving ability in mathematics learning, especially based on real-world problems. The main cause is that students still have problems in understanding the meaning and finding the core of the given problem. The objectives of this study to determine the modified Triangle Method (TM) with Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) to improv students' ability in problem-solving and also its interaction with prior knowledge. This type of research is experimental design with a sample of 69 students grade VIII in West Sumatera, Indonesia. The data were obtained by giving the test, which was evaluated by t-test and two-way ANOVA. Based on the result test, obtained a t-value of 4.488 with the Sig.=0.000<0.05= α. It can be concluded that the modified of TM and CTL can improve students' problem-solving ability. Meanwhile, the interaction test obtained Sig.0.467>0.05=α. In other words, there is no interaction between CTL and students' prior knowledge of problem-solving skills. It means that TM and CTL can be used for students with high and low prior knowledge to improve students' problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Masalah utama yang terjadi dalam pembelajaran adalah siswa belum fokus dan kurang semangat dalam belajar matematika. Terlihat pada saat pembelajaran siswa tidak antusias dalam mendengarkan penjelasan guru dan merasa bosan serta tidak termotivasi dalam belajar matematika. Hal ini jelas berakibat pada rendahnya hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa. Untuk itu, perlunya upaya untuk menggunakan model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa seperti memberikan suatu tantangan berupa permainan atau perlombaan antar siswa atau dikenal dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model TGT terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar matematika siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 64 siswa kelas VIII SMP N 12 Padang. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan angket motivasi dan tes hasil belajar. Data motivasi belajar dianalisis dengan menggunakan persentase perolehan, sementara itu data hasil belajar menggunakan uji t dua sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar siswa berada pada kriteria tinggi dengan perolehan angka 81%. Selain itu, hasil uji statistik diperoleh nilai t sebesar 1,708 dengan nilai sig < nilai alpha (0,0465 < 0,05). Berdasarkan analisis tersebut dapat disimpulkan model pembelajaran TGT dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa
