Abstract

The research aims to: analyze student's misconception on solubility and solubility product constant (Ksp) using the instrument of three-tier multiple choice test, and know the percentage of student's misconception. The research method used a mixed method with sequential explanatory strategy. Data collection technique was collected by diagnostic test using 20 questions of three-tier multiple choice that was completed by reasons and level of confidence, then the result of student's answer was analyzed. The result of the research shows that the diagnostic instrument test of three-tier multiple choice has fulfilled valid and reliable criteria. The implementation diagnostic instrument of three-tier multiple choice  shows misconception percentage of solubility material was 5,272%, solubility product constant (Ksp) was 7,339%, the effect of same ions was 2,025%, the effect of pH on solubility was 4,597%, and sub-material of Ksp and the reaction process of sedimentation was 9,870%.

Abstract

The learning outcomes of pharmacy students in Cirebon were still lacking, as well as student’s motivation and character. The teaching strategies used by teachers were still conventional and character education has not been optimal. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there were differences in student’s motivation and character between students who were taught by integrated contextual learning with character education (experimental class) and students who were taught by conventional method (control class). The research method used was the experiment. The data analysis technique was independent sample t-test. The results of this study were (1) the tcount value for the character honesty; discipline; and responsibilities were 4.118; 3.709; and 7.950 respectively, > the ttable 2.003, it means that there was differences in the characters between the control and the experimental class; (2) the tcount value for student’s motivation was 3.506 > the ttable 2.003, it means that there was difference in student’s learning motivation between the control and the experimental class. The student’s responses toward learning in the experimental class amounted to 82.59% in the very good category. The result of this study are expected to contribute the information for education practitioners especially in vocational schools.

Abstract

Electronic Task Based Learning (e-TBL) is learning by giving assignments to students assisted by electronic media so that students are more active. In SMPIT Izzatul Islam (SMPIT Izzis) Getasan e-TBL is not yet available to analyze critical thinking skills and problem solving on learning substance and characteristics. This study aims to develop a valid and reliable e-TBL to analyze critical thinking skills and problem solving in learning substance and characteristics and to find out the responses of users after using e-TBL as a result of development. Type of this research is the research and development of the 4D model. The subjects of this study were students of grade 8 SMPIT Izzis. A limited test was conducted to determine the readability of e-TBL, the feasibility of e-TBL, and user responses to e-TBL conducted with a questionnaire sheet that tested its validity and reliability. The data analysis technique used in this study was quantitative descriptive. Based on research results, the development of e-TBL is feasible to use because it is valid and reliable. Responses from users also show that the development of e-TBL is feasible to be used to analyze critical thinking skills and problem solving on learning substance and characteristics.

Abstract

The learning model is fundamental to increase the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process in the classroom. Learning models that make students more active in the chemistry teaching and learning process in class XI SMA N 1 Comal are rarely used. As a result, students become passive and scientific attitudes and student creativity have not developed. This study aims to determine : the process of implementing problem-based learning (PBL), the effectiveness of PBL on acid-base material in high school, increasing the scientific attitude and creativity of class XI SMA students. The research design used was a pretest-postest control group with a quasi experimental design. This study’s population was all students of class XI SMA N 1 Comal in the academic year 2020/2021. The sample was taken using simple random sampling technique and selected class XI MIPA 5 as the control class and XI MIPA 6 as the experimental class. Data collection techniques used documentation in the form of pretest and postest scores, scientific attitude observation sheets and questionnaires to measure student creativity. The data analysis technique used is the t-test. The results showed that the average posttest score of students in the experimental class were higher than the average posttest score of students in the control class. The percentage of students with a high scientific attitude in the experimental class is also more remarkable than the control class. The creativity category with a very creative category in the experimental class shows a more significant percentage than the control class. From the analysis results, it can be concluded that first, the application of PBL starts from problem orientation, group organizing, conducting experiments, presenting work results, and evaluating. The second is the problem based learning model provides excellent results and is quite effective compared to conventional methods. Third, PBL models can improve student’s scientific attitudes and creativity compared to conventional methods.
