Abstract

This research aims to analyze the translation technique in variety of articles from Indonesian to English by the fifth semester students 2019/2020 in STBA JIA. The data will be analyzed by the theory of Benny Hoed about technique of translation. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis, which gives more attention on how deep the translation’s knowledge towards the concept which was being learned and how the theory is used to translate the article. The data of the research is the translation of articles which are translated by the students in translation class. The result of the analysis shows that some techniques are used by students such as transposition, modulation, descriptive, and official translation. From the analysis, it is found that basically all the students gradually can translate well after having many translation practices.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa banyak kesalahan berbahasa yang banyak terjadi di masyarakat kabupaten Bekasi.kesalahan yang dianalisa disini adalah kesalahan textual dan leksikal dalam reklame. Setelah dilakukan penelitian pada 31 reklame dan dianalisa, ditemukan 39 jenis jenis kesalahan yang terdiri dari kesalahan textual yang berupa, kesalahan tata huruf : ditemukan 1 kesalahan, kesalahan karena kesulitan membaca ditemukan 9 kesalahan, dan Kesalahan Membingungkan ditemukan 9 kesalahan. Kesalahan leksikal yang berupa Kesalahan Pemilihan formal ditemukan 2 kesalahan, Kesalahan Formasi ditemukan 2 kesalahan, Kesalahan distorsi yang berupa penghilangan huruf ditemukan 11 kesalahan, Penambahan huruf ditemukan 4 kesalahan dan Salah susunan ditemukan 1 kesalahan.

Abstract

This study is entitled The Analysis of Deixis in The Novel, Twelve Years A Slave by Salomon Northup. This research activity was carried out from September 2019 to September 2020. Deixis in this research was to describe the relationship between language and contexts in the structure of language itself. The goals of this study are to find out, identify types of deixis, and to analyze the function of each type of deixis found in the novel of Twelve Years a Slave by Salomon Northup. The writer used the theory of Levinson and Jaszczolt. The data collection techniques, are reading and understanding the contents of the novel, searching for data, marking, and putting a check mark, taking data and processing it into a data framework. Qualitative method was used in this study to analyze the data and the method were done by descriptive technique. Obviously, the result of the research can be shown that there are three types of deixis found in the novel, Twelve Years A Slave by Salomon Northup, namely person deixis, spatial deixis and temporal deixis. Person deixis consists of first person, second person and third person. The first person deixis is used to identify the speaker. The second person deixis is used to show the addressee. The third person deixis is used to show the referent not Panjaitan, Ester. Noryatin, Yeni (2020). The Analysis of Deixis in The Novel Twelve Years A slave by Salomon Northup. Jurnal Bahasa Asing. Vol. 1. Desember 2021, pp. 1-14identified neither speaker nor the addressee. The spatial deixis is used to describe a location participant in speech event. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the translation procedures of economic articles from English into Indonesian by the fourth semester students 2020/2021 in STBA JIA. The data will be analyzed by the theory of Vinay and Darbelnet about translation procedures. This research is qualitative research with descriptive analysis, which gives more attention on how deep the translation’s knowledge towards the concept which was being learned and how the theory is used to translate the article. The data of the research is the final test of translation class which economic articles become the data source that are translated by the student. The result of the analysis shows that some procedures are used by students to get the acceptable meaning in Indonesian language. From the analysis, it is found that basically all the students gradually can translate well after having many translation practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the translation strategy of the Phrasal Verb in the novel The Devil All the Time. The theory used in this study is the kinds of phrasal verb from Wyatt and theory of Baker for the translation strategy. This study used qualitative descriptive method. The result of the study showed that: there are five phrasal verb found in this novel, namely, 15 intransitive phrasal verb(48,38%), 9 transitive phrasal verb where the object can come in one of two positions (29,03%), 2 transitive phrasal verbs where the object must come between the verb and the particle (6,45%), 3 transitive phrasal verbs where the object must come after the verb and the particle (9,67%), 2 transitive phrasal verbs with two object, one object is between verb and particle and the other one after the particle (6,45%);there are 4 types of translation strategies used by the translators of this novel, namely, data 9 translation by a more general word (29,03%), 14 translations by a more neutral/less expressive word (45,17%), 6 translations by paraphrase using a related word (19,35%), 2 translations by paraphrase using unrelated words (6,45%).
