Abstract

Waste is a national problem so that its processing needs to be carried out in a comprehensive and integrated manner from upstream to downstream in order to provide economic, health and safety benefits for the environment. Based on this, the background for this activity is because the problem of waste is still a challenge in Bantul Regency, which is caused by the amount of volume that continues to increase every year. Lack of knowledge in processing and utilizing plastic waste is one of the factors of the existing problems. This activity was carried out using several methods, namely counseling, question and answer, and the practice of making ecobricks which were arranged into a chair. The form of waste processing and utilization that can be done is the use of ecobrick . The purpose of this activity is to instill knowledge and behavior in waste management and as a learning medium for children's creativity. The extension method aims to provide understanding and knowledge to 4th grade students at SD Negeri 3 Jarakan. One of the uses of inorganic waste into ecobricks at SD Negeri 3 Jarakan, Jaranan Hamlet, Panggungharjo Village, Sewon District , Bantul Regency, DI Yogyakarta with the target of grade 4 students. Before making ecobricks was preceded by counseling on STBM, 3R and materials on how to make ecobricks. Materials for making ecobricks were started by giving new knowledge to elementary school siblings about how to process waste that was initially considered goods. useless into something that has value. The enthusiasm of the 4th graders was reflected in their efforts when they were asked to bring inorganic waste such as plastic as materials for making ecobricks. Through making ecobricks, its hoped that elementary school students can participate in implementing the waste management program and also wisely use plastic later.

Abstract

An environmental problem that is currently still difficult to solve is the accumulation of waste. The amount of waste which continues to increase every time can be a serious problem because it can cause environmental damage and pollution. Plastic waste is the kind of waste that is hard to compose by microorganism so its easy to pile up and causing environmental pollution. One way to overcome this problem is to recycle plastic waste. Based on observations and interview data, the residents of Kebon Agung Village didn’t have knowledge about proper plastic waste management to reduce the amount of plastic waste. Community service team held the education program of plastic waste management and training program of making pillow from plastic waste to women residents at Kebon Agung Village. The aim of these programs are to reduce the pile of plastic waste and increasing the residents’ knowledge about plastic waste management. The result of this program is the residents of Kebon Agung Village can make a pillow from plastic waste and understand the proper plastic waste management. The residents of Kebon Agung Village also experience behavior changes which is no more littering and already have the awareness to do proper plastic waste management.

Abstract

Berdasarkan studi pendahuluan yang dilaksanakan pada 28 Juli 2023 di Dusun Gampeng RT 02, Triwidadi, Pajangan, Bantul didapatkan kesadahan sebesar 390 mg/L termasuk kesadahan sementara. Saat dilihat secara fisik, air sumur yang sadah setelah direbus berwarna keruh, terdapat endapan putih pada gelas dan apabila dididihkan akan membentuk kerak pada cerek. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui waktu kontak yang efektif filtrasi media resin kation dan zeolit dalam menurunkan kadar kesadahan air sumur gali. Penelitian bersifat Quasi Experiment dengan desain penelitian One-Group Pre Test-Post Test Design. Besar sampel sebanyak 18 sampel dengan teknik pengambilan yaitu grab sampling pada bulan Maret 2024. Hasil pemeriksaan dilakukan uji normalitas data, uji One Way Anova, uji Paired Sample t-Test dan LSD. Berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan kesadahan didapatkan hasil penurunan dengan waktu kontak 10 menit sebesar 23,3%, 20 menit sebesar 34% dan 30 menit sebesar 56,16%. Hasil uji statistic menggunakan uji One Way Anova dengan nilai Sig 0,001 maka ada pengaruh filtrasi media resin kation dan zeolit terhadap kesadahan air sumur gali. Hasil uji Paired Sample t-Test didapatkan pada setiap waktu kontak nilai sig (2-tailed) 0,05, sehingga terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kadar kesadahan sebelum dan setelah perlakuan. Dari hasil uji LSD waktu kontak yang efektif filtrasi media resin kation dan zeolit dalam menurunkan kadar kesadahan air sumur gali adalah 30 menit. Waktu kontak yang efektif filtrasi media resin kation dan zeolit terhadap kadar kesadahan air sumur gali sesudah dilakukan filtrasi yaitu selama 30 menit dengan penurunan sebesar 56,16%.
